Grease Monkey - Oil change and a fresh wash!!

They pulled my vehicle in and 10 minutes later my car was done. That was fast. The only thing I didn't like about the service was they never checked my wipers and see if I wanted to have them replaced. Also they never asked me what kind of oil I wanted in my car conventional, full synthetic or somthing in between. They just assumed I wanted the same as the last time. They did try to up-sell me on some air filters that I didn't think they needed to be replaced yet. I didn't look at the wiper fluid to see it it was topped off. I do recommend this place and will return again in the future. I would recommend when you visit you tell them what grade of oil you want so they don't just put whatever in your engine, conventional or full synthetic.

I explained to them that one of their employees had to have put the temp plug in. they denied it but said he have a friend that can fix it. Bottom line: they did this and won't fix it. when I tried to talk to the manager they said he isn't available. They either dropped my original plug or cross threaded it. They won't make it right. After losing our truck, we were relying on my grandson's car to get my grandkids to school. Just days after putting my last money into insurance and tags, it broke down--with my two young grandkids and me stuck in the heat across from the DMV. Camden greeted me with genuine care and urgency--something you rarely see anymore. But what happened next is what truly sets this place apart. DJ didn't just offer advice--he actually walked with me a block and a half to the DMV, with his tools, to try to diagnose my car on the spot. Think about that--what shop allows a technician to leave and personally help a stranded customer like that? That level of compassion and dedication is almost unheard of. Even though the car couldn't be started there, that moment alone showed me I was in the right hands. Once we got it to the shop, the service just kept getting better. Alan kept me updated every step of the way with kindness and respect, DJ and Luke worked tirelessly to figure it out, and Chad--who I spoke with on the phone--was just as kind and helpful. This place is truly full of good people. They gave me options that fit my budget and worked with me every step of the way. They could have sent my car elsewhere for a repair costing thousands--but instead, they went above and beyond and got it fixed for under $300. To whoever is managing this shop: you are doing something right. Your work ethic shows through your team, and you have hired the right people. Camden, DJ, Alan, Luke, and Chad represent your business with integrity, compassion, and professionalism--and they absolutely deserve recognition (and raises). If you want honest people who genuinely care, this is the place to go. Thank you all--you made a stressful, overwhelming situation so much better for me and my family.

When we got it home the first time, we could visibly see it had positive camber. We returned a second time to have it fixed, but it still had positive camber and too much toe. A few months later, our tires were worn out because we had to wait to get into a shop that actually knows how to properly align older vehicles. The technician didn't seem familiar with this truck at all -- he didn't even know where the alignment shims go, and my husband had to show him. We ended up taking it somewhere else a third time, and they corrected it properly. Unfortunately, this experience cost us a set of tires. I would not recommend this shop, especially if you have an older vehicle.

A Better Shine Auto Detailing and Ceramics - Poor edge cuts, contamination

My regular detailer who I've used for decades has done great work so absolutely no complaints…read morethere. But in recent years his pricing has gotten downright insane so I have been forced to look for alternatives. In particular for my motorcycles since, being motorcycles, they are ridden in all sorts of weather, often year round so a sparkling clean detailing job often does not last that long. Mostly looking for a biz that does a decent job at a reasonable price for at least some of my vehicles. Put the project out for quotes using Yelps service. Of course I have no way of knowing who they will blast these quote requests out to or how Yelp selects the vendors to notify. One would think that this would be done based on great reviews and close proximity to the customer's location. In this case, A Better Shine is quite some distance from me. Not a huge deal, I suppose, especially if they offer a mobile service. 20-25 miles (one way) is not too far to travel for a really outstanding vendor. So I receive a response from Irving, the owner, stating that he is eager to "win my business". Good start, I'm thinking. They have pretty decent reviews. 14 and all of them 5 stars which is a bit unusual. Even truly great businesses tend to upset someone along the way and find themselves with a few one star bad reviews. So digging a little deeper I see that there is a MASSIVE number of flagged reviews for this little business. Hmmmm.... looking a bit closer I notice that almost all of the unflagged reviews were posted by people who have written very few reviews and zero Elite Yelpers. So I'm willing to discuss this further although the caution flag is definitely out. The price that comes back is 2x higher than the mid-range of other quotes and includes ceramic coating which I did not ask for. There was no detail provided as far as what is done so this could be anything from a pressure wash to the full Magilla. I respond again asking for clarification and am told that it will be $100 less without the ceramic treatment and no responses to my other questions. Irving is now still 2x higher than my low bidder who has a very high rating on Yelp but I'm still open to hearing his proposal. That is, what does his premium priced motorcycle detailing encompass? So a few days of silence from Better Shine go by and I'm to the point where I need to select one of the detailers that Yelp connected me to and hire them to detail my Harley and see what sort of work they do. So I contact Better Shine to inquire if they are in or out and I get a rather snotty response from the owner. Strike three. He's out. His response is basically an insult claiming that I care more about price than quality although since the owner has refused to offer any details on what he does and does not do there is no way for me to determine what the level of quality is at his company. There's is also the obligatory defense of his ceramic coating pricing which I completely understand having gone through this with several of my other vehicles. I am well aware that there is considerable prep work involved and that the coating companies have rigid pricing policies for all of their certified applicators. But I was very clear that while ceramic coating this bike is not off the radar what I'm mostly interested in is finding out the scope of coverage as far as a basic detailing job is concerned. And whether I need to come to them or if they come to me. To be clear: If Irving did a great detailing job on this project the up-charge to do ceramic coating next time would not be an issue at all. At this point I am just trying to find a really good detailer who's pricing isn't in the stratosphere. I apologize for this review being so long but when I post the rare one star review I want to be abundantly clear on why I feel the business deserves such a poor review. This business has a professionally done web site and over a dozen very good reviews so my business was theirs to lose, which is what they chose to do. They insulted me and chased me away simply because I asked a few obvious questions about their service. I can only imagine how rude and hostile this fellow would be if I hired them and was unhappy with the service. The owner's attitude is a big part of why I now question the legitimacy of many of the not-flagged stellar reviews since my experience with them was anything but five stars. UPDATE: After posting this review I got a nasty response from Preston H who claims to be in Anaheim, CA. He also claims to represent this business. Obviously, this place is gaming the Yelp reviews with fake 5 star "reviews". This clod threatened me so we shall see if Yelp starts pulling down these phony 5 star reviews posted by shills.

The quality of workmanship does not match the price at all for neither detail or window tint…read more Window tint shouldn't be a maintenance item that you have to go back for. Retint or guarantee simply will not make it right. Damage to my rear sliding window defroster was caused by this business as my truck had factory windows on it when it was taken to them. My forward center console usb ports stopped working immediately after the detail as well. They were working fine on the way to them the morning they tinted and detailed it because i had my cell plugged in to it. They will promise to make it right but that will never change the quality of workmanship. You will get told lies about window trim not allowing total coverage but as you will see by my uploads that is a complete lie. Think Used car Salesman when you are reading reviews about customer service. Visible contamination under 7 windows of tint, jagged and poor or oversized cuts on all window edges. Stay away if you are traveling from more than just a mile down the road. I went to 2 different tint placed and had it looked at. Both of them immediately found everything shown in these images. Contamination under the tint, jagged, over cuts, surface damage, and poor edge detail is present in all of these. In many of them there is multiple combinations of these mentioned. I ask all customers to use a flashlight to check your tint. If it looks ANYTHING like this it's wrong and should be redone. If it feels gritty like EVERY one of my windows it's wrong and needs to be redone. *PLEASE NOTE these pictures were taken by Excel Window Tint prior to performing any work. They was the 2nd company I too it to, to have the windows looked at. As I said earlier they both found the same exact issues on ALL of my windows.
