Majority of employees I've had a decent experience with except time and time again I keep getting profiled by this older lady in the store(the only one). Getting followed ruins the shopping experience, makes me not want to buy clothes and overall she is not good at fake sorting clothes. Let's sell vintage Americana but she should keep out the faux sf hippie/punk hybrid to culturally conservative surveillance vibes out the store. Don't lose out on money from profiling people! Good day

Overall my experience with SF thrifting so far is that there's quite poor bang for your buck…read more Fashion exchange is unfortunately another such store. Their shop was so packed with clothing that I noticed a sign on the window saying that they were no longer accepting donations, they were full. And with their prices and the quality of the pieces, I don't think they will be making room any time soon. They did have some interesting and unique pieces, as well as a small collection of designer goods, but everything was genuinely so expensive. They did have a lot of harnesses, fishnets, and sparkly dresses that might work if you were looking for performance or costume pieces. I walked out after about 15 min of increasingly astounded perusing with no plans to return.

While I have an attractive and youthful demeanor, and a rocking hot bod, I realized that most of my…read moreshirts are cropped. And well, I'm in my 30s so that's weird. EVERYTHING can't be cropped. I did a major closet clean out and expunged my SHEIN, crop tops and prized clothes that fit in my 20s that I can no long mash my plump buns into. 2026 is going to be the year I turn into a fine auntie who wears quality materials. But I had 2 garbage bags full of clothes that had to go, including the fur coats my aunt gave me from this old dead person she befriended (she befriends rich Caucasian people near the end of their life, and I usually get the hand-me-downs, including some wonderful Egyptian cotton sheets!) Enter Buffalo Exchange, a way I could get rid of all my crap and also exchange it for better crap. Every day Buffalo exchange buys clothes, all day. In the olden days you had to just show up and wait, but in the digital age, you can go on their website and sign up ahead of time and it will let you know what the estimated wait time is! I've done that twice & the first time it worked out really well for me, but the second time the website threw me off the waitlist right before it was my turn. Luckily the workers were reasonable and still took me. The wait times IRL can be longer than the website suggests because people like me bring in garbage bags full of clothes, so don't plan to be in a rush. While waiting, you can peruse their assortment of clothes. If you're selling clothes, you get store credit worth 50% of what the clothes would sell for, or you can get 25%, so if you find something you like and you're a selling clothes, it's worth it to opt for store credit. I bought so much stuff The first time I didn't make any money from those fur coats! All in all, I'd say it's a great way to both clean out your closet and exchange it for clothes that better suit your lifestyle. We really should be stepping away from fast fashion and Thrifting is a great way to get a unique piece that nobody else has!

I bought my glasses, left, and then immediately returned for the shoes because the deal was too good to pass up. I'm thrilled with my purchases and how little I spent.
