I cannot say enough for Doug's professionalism and responsiveness. He has been there with me through 3 separate claims working to make sure everything was handled quickly and properly. I love the "personal" attention Doug provides; he makes you feel like you are his only or most important client. Last year when the insurance rates increased across the board, I had a rate increase. Doug took the time to explain the increase, and to provide comparisons. I decided to get new quotes on my home and auto insurance. After receiving the new quotes, a couple where cheaper (however, decreasing my coverage), I decided to stick with Henderson. With Doug I understood my coverage and felt comfortable based on previous experiences that he would be there in the case of a claim. You hear people say, "my insurance is great as long as I don't file a claim". My rate increase was minimal, and why would I take the chance of receiving subpart customer service or coverage on my greatest investments; just not worth the few dollars I would save in premiums. While I understand that actual premiums can vary based on coverage amounts/deductibles/etc., their actual quote ended up being $4536 !! Not even in the same ballpark. (I've actually been in the real estate business and understand insurance.) Keep in mind that they had my property address (which obviously includes all general property details) and so what they give over the phone and in that flyer should NOT be substantially different. What a COMPLETE insulting waste of my time. If they do this before you are a customer I cannot imagine what deception could lie ahead.

I recently had an experience that reminded me a lot of that with Charles Conder from Conder Insurance Agency. I had been carrying all of my insurance for years with the same company out of Houston because that's where my family had always gone, and that's where we always went. My experience with insurance in the past had been that it was kind of like a sore that wouldn't heal, and I just sent my check off every month to keep it from getting any worse. I met Charles one day when I was looking for office space for my business on West Lynn, and I stumbled in to his building after seeing the "for lease" sign the owner had posted on the outside. Charles walked me up to where the office was, bragged about the owner and the area for a while, and we ended up down in his office a short time later talking about who I was, what I was doing, and toward the end of the conversation I ended up asking him for advice on my auto insurance. We went through my policies one by one, and he laughed at some of them when he told me, "man, these guys really saw you coming", and others where he saw giant holes in the liability my business or me personally could be subjected to. Funniest part of the entire conversation: I was the one that brought up insurance, he never mentioned it one time. We sat there cutting up, and just getting to know each other. Just the sheer excitement of meeting someone that I felt so comfortable with and that was just honest to their core was something I remembered from home, and that I hadn't felt in a long time. Just yesterday he helped me with a commercial policy for my business that he spent over a week figuring out for me. We had to have it in order to do business with some of our biggest clients, and I had gone in circles trying to figure it out. Charles called me probably five times a day to assure me that he would get it figured out, was on the phone with our vendors even talking to them about what THEIR coverage was to see how we could work off of that, and around 10pm the night before last I get a text from him saying "got good news for you, stopping by your office in the morning with breakfast tacos. Bring a pen." He shows up at 8am the next day with policy in hand, and, as he said, breakfast tacos for not only me, but my entire office!
