" WHO AM I GOING TO BUILD RAMPS FOR NOW?" If Evel Knieval inspired Hot Rod, Thank you! Fort some reason I felt I had to go to this museum. I even rearranged our vacation to make it happen because they were closed on Mondays! A little more than I wanted to spend for entry but it's the going rate for museums these days... Very visual museum. Bright and colorful photos. Each event he was doing a jump was featured with a video of the jump or attempt. Obviously tapes weren't as clear then so accept the quality for the time. My two year old was immersed in the videos! A decent amount of memorabilia such as bikes and outfits. I really enjoyed learning more about Evel from how he adapted his name to how he retired. The VR simulation is a few extra bucks. My whole family did it- I suggest it! Pretty cool to see what he would have seen. I liked it! Glad we did it.

We'll done! This was one of the tops things to see in Topeka so we had to check it out. It's 2 floors of Evel Knievel (EK) memorabilia and history. There's a lot of plaque-like info displays and many screens playing short relevant video clips. There's also a theater playing small segments of EK related movies and shows. For an extra fee, there's at least 2 EK experience attractions one can do. They restored EK's famed truck/quarters and trailer that he rode in as did his ramps and motorcycles. This restoration was amazing. I'd say this is a must do museum.

Jump Into the Footsteps of a Legend: The EK museum is one of the finest museums as we travel honoring a true American. You will not only see interpretive write ups & photos on Knievel, but you see the actual outfits, motorcycles, along with videos of each of his major jumps throughout his career. Within this museum is Evel's full "Big Red" semi-truck rig, famous outfits from television, helmets, the EK toy line and his famous can. You'll have the opportunity to climb on a motorcycle to recreate a virtual jump, and then enter the final room where you'll see the sky cycle that Evel attempted to jump the Snake River Canyon. We'll worth the trip, and well worth the memories!

Wasn't every kid pretending to be Evel Knievel as they rode their bike over jumps and ramps? I know I was, so I was very pleased to land here in Topeka where I had the opportunity to tour the museum today. So much memorabilia throughout. The actual leathers he wore, the bikes he rode and videos of the various jumps (successful and not) throughout his career. Even the famous rocket-bike that he used to jump the Snake River. The star of the show, of course, is the restored Big Red Mack truck that was how he toured the country. Interesting video to see it recovered from trashed condition and restored to its former glory. Very interesting to see Evel's chronological history as a showman interspersed with the videos and the memorabilia. There's no one like Evel Knievel for sure. As for the question everyone wants to know, why is this museum in Topeka? https://www.kansascity.com/sports/article213860159.html Well worth the time to stop here and the price of the admission. This museum is a gem that shows you all about this iconic character. And you have a Harley- Davidson right next to it to give the perfect wrap-up to your motorcycle experience! It's ticket prices are reasonable, and the staff is very friendly. There is plenty of parking space. And eating at the H-D restaurant is a must! I loved it all, specially the coleslaw. To me, a one-of-a kind museum where you can learn more about American pop culture.

Wow. Quite the display. Had way more stuff than I expected and the place is clean and well maintained. Cool spot to visit if in Topeka.

A world-class museum of Evel artifacts! Every time id visit Topeka on business or pleasure, I'd always wonder why on earth this museum was here. Evel never lived here, drive here or jumped anything here, etc. And, then. I had to wonder about the $15/person admission price. But, we decided to make it a stop on our next trip to Topeka, and boy! Am I glad we did! We had a fantastic experience going through this museum. It takes about 90 minutes and explore's Evel's dynamic story from A-Z; all his jumps, His gutsy and shameless ways of self-promotion, his crashed (far fewer than his attempts), and his raw courage and determination. There's a LOT in this museum to see, learn and enjoy. There's a LOT of artifacts to see - his various motorcycles, his leathers and helmets used in various jumps. There's even a 4-D virtual jump experience where you can ride along on an actual jump another motorcycle daredevil made over 16 Topeka cop cars back in 2016. Even if you didn't grow up watching Evel's jumps on TV, you'll still enjoy this well-done museum. And, If you grew up watching Evel do his stunts and jumps (maybe even imitating Evel on your bicycle) this is a MUST-SEE place to visit. You won't regret it.

Worth the drive! Awesome display of Evel Knievel stuff! I grew up during the height of EK! I remember building ramps and taking my bike for jumps! Going to the museum brought back good memories! Museum is well designed and displayed highlights of EK life! Enjoyed the short movies of EK plus the truck restoration !! Also, enjoyed the Harley gift shop!

What a fantastic museum! Only open for around a year, this is easily a few hours of jumping down memory lane for anyone who grew up watching Evel Knievel in the 60s or 70s. Really well done museum with highlights and video of his life, most famous jumps, and of course, crashes. Interesting, interactive exhibits, including a 4D thrill bike jump and display to examine all his broken bones and other injuries throughout his career. The museum is built around Evel's 63' completely restored semi and trailer, Big Red. There's also lots of bikes, cars, helmets, leathers, and one of the two rockets used for the launch over Snake River. An absolute must-stop for anyone in the Topeka area.

I would say if you are not very mobile, you will struggle with this place because there is a lot to navigate and if you are not paying attention you could hit your head on any number of things. One of the employees told a mom not to let her kids run under the airplanes becuase they could bonk their heads. True that! One has to pay attention in this museum. My favorite part was walking into this helicopter that was built in 1965 and in service until 1988 and a gentleman who worked in this actual helicopter when it was in service was fixing it up as a volunteer. History right in front of my eyes! It's $7 to get in, a bargain!

The Hall of Courage is an interesting exhibit that shows videos of discrimination on both sides. It attempts to mimic the feeling that folks back in the 1950s and the Jim Crow South had to deal with. The building also has a recreation of a kindergarten in Topeka during the 1950. Where teachers believed that play was the highest form of learning. So children could let their minds run free and creativity develop their curious minds. The Legacy Room has plenty of exhibits. I particularly liked the Wall of Courage, that highlight post-Brown heroes, and the Protest in Music exhibit that had songs from Marvin Gaye, Bob Marley, Bob Dylan, to Public Enemy. I'm so happy to have had the opportunity to learn more about the case and be on the grounds where the one of the cases originated. This location presents the information well, and visitors cannot help but feel proud about the event.
