I am very sensitive about extreme alterations to my face, so I have been careful to only go to plastic surgeons and Dermatologist for all of my injections. My regular doctors were booked up and I was desperate for an immediate appointment. I thought I should let my guard down and try something new and go to a Medi spa like everyone else does and not be such a snob about having to have a doctor inject me. So I went online and LA skin beauty kept popping up everywhere I would look. It looked like a chain and that made me a bit nervous because they had so many locations and such a massive staff, but I thought to myself they must hire the best of the best because they have such a big reputation to protect so I went for it. I gave them a call and somehow they had an appointment as early as 30 minutes away available for me. They also had 10 other appointments all scattered throughout the day that was available for me to take, which should have been a red flag for me to begin with. Most of the injectors I visit are booked for months in advance, but this one was available within 30 minutes. I went ahead and booked the appointment because I was desperate. The injector Betty, was so lovely and nice and spent so much time with me explaining all of the things that she could do to help me with my problem areas. I trusted her and told her to do what would be best to solve my issues. I like to let professionals do what they do best. Or so that's how LA skin beauty portrays itself! She gave me almost 80 units of Botox throughout my entire face and neck. A number that I had never had before. I paid my nearly $1000 bill and went home to only wake up 48 hours later with a crooked mouth. I contacted Betty immediately and sent her a picture and a video showing her that I was having a difficult time speaking, and that the right side of my mouth was not opening properly. She suggested that maybe I did something to my own face. After realizing that is an impossibility, there was still no admission of her injecting the wrong muscle. Instead, she suggested that the Botox must have seeped into a neighboring muscle, which caused the paralysis on one side of my face. I am clearly distraught and have to live with this for the next three months of having a crooked smile, difficulty speaking, difficulty eating, and even difficulty kissing my husband. I can't go to out with my friends! I can't talk to my clients!! I've had to cancel two video shots! This is crazy!! They ruined my life in a matter of minutes!! I was absolutely mortified and asked for a refund. I am the type of woman who doesn't even return a sweater. I rather give things away, but it felt like such an injustice and a true crime to charge a customer all this money and destroy their face!! It's just WRONG!! It's been three weeks now and I have had 10 different phone tag conversations with two different managers who have offered me $200 and free visit to their North Hollywood office for micro Current treatment, which is medically known to NOT help get rid of Botox. Which brought me here, laseraway. I saw a deal online about a discount and thats what sold me. I've been a client for over 2 years for laser tattoo removals. They use a technique to try and determine the length of treatment. I provided my history of the tattoo and location, size, etc. and they determined it would take about 17 sessions to fully remove it. I originally purchased 6 sessions with numbing and I didnt see any progress when it came to my 4th or 5th session so I added 4 more. Now, my sessions are almost coming to an end and I am on my 7th out of 10, the nurse said that it will all he gone if I added 3 more sessions afterwards. So a total of 13 sessions. Even with the numbing cream, each time, the laser will intensify to break down the pigment of the ink and deeper into your skin. They provide you with eye protection and a stress ball. They also provide cold air as they move the laser on your tattoo. Once they are done, they will provide you with some ointment, wrap, and an ice pack if needed. After each session, they recommend a longer healing time. I went from 3 weeks, to 4, 6, 8, 12...etc. so it doesnt get done immediately. My last 3 sessions will probably be 4 to 6 months apart. The reception staff are friendly and will try their best to upsell other services to you. Other than that, the facility is nice and has great air conditioning.

I went in for a Yelp glow event where I received a complimentary facial. I liked the facial enough. This is also the first medspa I've ever interacted with/stepped foot into so I was intrigued. I've been wanting to get rid of my persistent dark spot and friends around me were starting to visit medspas. Without doing proper research (which is 100% my bad) I decided to get the picosure pro package after the facial. I don't know what came over me. I just spent the money. The manager was quite convincing and in hindsight I should've done my research prior to spending so much money at this place. The package was definitely a good deal. I did a chemical peel, 2 sessions of picosure pro, and 2 facials. The facials were fine. My three stars are related to following experiences - the lack of communication throughout the process regarding the pros and potential cons or side effects, the lack of interaction I had with the NP who did the procedure, the lack of deep knowledge of the procedure, and the outcome. After my peel, I had additional dark spots. Sure my skin looked brighter (I peeled A LOT) but I also got additional darkspots from the peel. Then I went in for my pico pro sessions. The pico pro got rid of my one initial darkspot but brought forth MORE darkspots. So now, I have darkspots by both sides of my eyes - ones I have not had before. I think the NP was quite aggressive with her procedure. Well I wouldn't know for sure because they haven't explained why I have more darkspots. I think they're just not very good in English. Anyway, I considered continuing my treatment here since they "know" my skin but decided I will go to a different medspa to fix my darkspots. In the end, I spent well over a grand and left with additional darkspots.

When I arrived, it looked like I was checking into a hotel. They gave me a form and later a cup of water. Jiarui came to greet me and brought me to her office. We talked about my concerns and what treatment I had done. She was very thorough and informative. Furthermore, she suggested other products but wanted me to focus on taking care of my melasma first. She said that they are having a promotion and gave me a price that was very competitive. The package is a series of 15 sessions and I would have to go weekly. After I had agreed, she got me on the phone with Dr Waxman to screen me and see if I was a good candidate for the laser. He's very nice and talks fast like any Kaiser doctor would. After she was done registering me, she took my payment and there was no surcharge for using credit card and tip is included. Then she walked me to the sink to wash my face. We went to the photo room and there were signs on the walls with numbers. That's where you look so she can take the photos. They use a Canon camera and it's already set up to take photos. Then we went to the room to get the laser done. The nurse told me that there will be a series of three rounds. After each round, she patted my face with an ice pack. When we were done, she took the goggles off my eyes and covered my eyes from the light since it was very bright. She put moisturizer on my face and went to get Jiarui. Jiarui walked me back to her office and recommended using some solution to buy on my own to help speed up recovery. Also, she booked the next four appointments for me and we bonded over cats so I showed her my Reels. She is very helpful, honest, a good listener and very nice. At first, I had my doubts based on other providers that I've encountered but third time is a charm. They seem be very knowledgeable and everything runs pretty smoothly.
