This guy should not be in business. I took a mantle clock in for repair, and when I got it home,…read morethe chimes did not work properly. After a close inspection of the clocks inner workings, I suspect he swapped out the clock mechanism and replaced it from another clock. I returned to his messy shop to voice my concerns about the chimes, and he started yelling at me and said they were factory set and could not be changed. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CLOCKS TO THIS MAN UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES! Vern Miles

BUYER BEWARE!!! I…read morecompletely agree with all other negative reviews I read here and elsewhere. My mistake was I did not take the time to read the reviews for his clock repair shop before taking him my 2 cuckoo clocks to repair, so my bad. Had I done, I would never have taken it there which is why I am spending the time to put my review here for others to benefit from. There was many red flags I saw from the start which should have made me shop elsewhere to get my clocks in working order. RED FLAGS: 1) Unkept: The shop in his garage was messy with most things looking old, out of repair and garbage littered the floor. 2) Rude: He spoke rudely and impatiently to a customer before us while we were in his shop waiting to talk to him. 3) High Price: He wanted $280 per clock to oil and clean them and get them working. The clocks are only worth about $135 each (quoted by another clock repair guy) but we settled and agreed to pay $500 for both clocks ($250 each) since they were family memorabilia for us. Further, he requested cash payment since he doesn't deal with VISA or cheques. On later thought, maybe they leave a paper trail incase anyone takes him to court. There was no written contract or receipt given upon pick up so it would not stand up in court anyway. We just had a verbal agreement to make them both work with no "surprises" in cost if he found other issues with the clocks beyond cleaning, oiling and bellow replacement as discussed with him before he started. 4) Shody job: Five days later he phoned and said the clocks were ready for pickup. Upon first inspection, they ticked and worked fine on his shop wall. I moved the hands to make sure the door opened and the bird came out on the hour but they didn't work properly on one of our clocks. He offered no explanation as to why that was not repaired. I also asked if they kept time properly and he shrugged his shoulders and said "heh" to both questions. 5) Deceitful: The right-hand cuckoo chain did not pull properly since the gears were messed up and too tight he said from owner force/abuse in pulling it. We didn't know that until we got it home and hung it up and tried to pull the chain, noticing it was seized in the gears somewhere. I couldn't check it at the shop because he had the cone weights pulled to the top under the cuckoo so there was no way I could see if that pull chain mechanism worked. Once we could see they were ticking fine, he quickly took them off the wall, wound the chains around the clock and put them in the boxes to end any more inspection. 6) Greedy: After the clocks were boxed, he eagerly said, "Where's the money?" He quickly took it, counted the cash and put it in his pocket. 7) Poor PR: I phoned him to ask about about the chain pull gear not working properly and he said it was ruined by someone who must have pulled too hard, stripped the gear making it tight. He had agreed to fix all problem with the clock with no extra expense so when I pointed this out to him, he yelled, "what do you want from me" I said to stick to the agreement and make the clock work properly. At this point, he hung up on me. I phoned him back 10 minutes later, after recovering from the shock of being yelled at and hung up on, but he didn't answer of course because he knows he's in the wrong and being deceitful and rude. I left a message to call me back and resolve the issue but he didn't call back. The one not working was my mother's clock so she called him the next morning for solve the problem. He was aggressive with her and answered rudely then hung up on her once she requested a refund. DO NOT MAKE OUR MISTAKE - THIS IS A WARNING SHOP ELSEWHERE! Clive and Audrey
