Ok, so this is a vacuum place, but it is not your normal vacuum store. They don't sale the low end appliances that you find a Wal-mart that last a few years than die. They sale high end appliances that have a thirst for identity and reputation, yet they do cost a bit more, tho they last a LOT longer. The owner, who we dealt with directly, is great. So helpful and patient. It's a great place. We did spend almost $700 on a high end stick vacuum, but it is super powerful and works better than any $200 vacuum at Walmart. We've also brought off brand vacuums here for cleaning, they don't care what brand it is, they will clean it and work on it. It's very much worth a visit. read more

We love Evans Vacuum. For years we used the Evans shop on Hwy 199 in Fort Worth before for repairs and supplies. We were sad to see them close that location as it was easy for us to get to. But we found them again at the new location on Camp Bowie. This place is so much more updated and alot nicer than the older one. So we decided to buy a cordless Riccar vacuum cleaner from them and I was very skeptical of it. I could not see how a light weight self propelled cordless vacuum could do the job and last. Well 3 years later it is still going and has great suction. The folks at Evans has cleaned and serviced it as promised for free. We love Riccar and highly recommend it to anyone who wants a good long lasting vacuum cleaner that is easy to maintain. We sent our Dyson to be serviced back in April. When my husband dropped it off they said they would call us for a quote on repairs. Several weeks later they called back and said it would cost roughly $300 for the maintenance. Mind you, our vacuum wasn't broken we sent it in just for yearly maintenance. I ask my husband what they would be repairing and he called back the next day for more clarity. Based on what they said we would need we did our own research and realized we could buy the filters needed as replace ourselves for far less. We approved them to do a general maintenance and clean of the machine. Roughly at a cost of $70. Several weeks went buy and we didn't hear from them so my husband called and asked if our machine as ready. They confirmed it was and he went to pick it up a couple of days later. When he arrived he was told that our vacuum had been RECYCLED because we never came to pick it up. Mind you we had no missed calls, emails or messages EVER from them. They offered to replace my Dyson Animal with a cheep DC30? I think it was called. We declined and called management. Management has NOT called us back even though we've spoken to several store managers. The manager at the North Richland Hills location offers to replace the machine a second time but said we'd have to pay our service fee and then drive to Camp Bowie to pick it up. I declined stating I wasn't going to pay and then go pick up a machine sight unseen. The manager gave us the model number of the replacement and we agreed that would correct the error. A week later we go (still no one called to let us know the new vacuum had made it in.) to pick up the vacuum and it's a cheep DC30 in a different color. He said he'd gotten the model number wrong but that's all he could offer us. We declined. We just want back what was ours. Or something that would replace the value of our machine. We have the ticket showing their dates of attempting to contact us and it only shows a call on the date they provided the original quote. They sell Dysons right outside their store but will not offer me a comparable replacement. The other stores have indicated there is no "recycle" department. So we assume they just sold out vacuum. We've asked for a district manager to call us and they have not. Please don't use this place. They are not reputable or honest. read more

This is my second trip to this location for servicing my vacuum. The store is a showroom of vacuum cleaners. They also carry floor cleaning supplies, belts, filters Etc. This repair was for the hose. My vacuum was ready at the promised time. The customer service at this location is absolutely fabulous! Incredibly nice people here and they were able to answer all of my questions. It has been 9 years since I purchased my Riccar, so I figured it was time to take it in to have the roller brush and belts checked. Mr. Evans was extremely helpful and offered to service the vacuum while I waited. He checked the motor, seals, and ran it to make sure it had good suction. He said that roller brush looked great, but the belt was a little worn. He installed a brand new belt and did not even charge me for the service or the belt! We bought our Riccar Immaculate here March 2013. Yes, it is pricey, but well worth the money. Having two dogs (golden retriever and redbone/blood hound mix) and a parrot (african gray) makes for a furry and dusty house. This vacuum does an awesome job of keeping the carpets clean. I also love the stair attachment. Every time we have gone in since 2013, the owner has gone above and beyond in helping us. We just bought a dog brush attachment that is great. We also bought the carpet freshener. It's a new brand they have and we have yet to try it. I do like the fact there was a variety of scents to choose from. They are also pet conscious when it comes to cleaning products, which I appreciate. read more

Went here for the first time today they solved a problem for me in no time. I had ordered a Miele canister filter online from somewhere, but what arrived was didn't fit. I took the filter into Evans today and the nice guy (owner I think) explained I'd been sent an upright filter. He traded them out for me and sent me on my way. My husband and I bought a Riccar "W" vacuum in 2009 or 2010 I think..while the vacuum was great the motor blew up last month and I have a new box of bags and 3 out of a open box that I can no longer use as we purchased a vacuum that I thought would last a little longer than 7-8 years. I have gone to Evans for purchases and repairs since 2002. The first time, I was in a bind for carpet cleaning, before a women's Bible study at my home, which was an old rent house with old carpet. They showed me a semi-dry method which sounded really good because of the lack of drying time required with this method. The stuff worked well. When the time came to vacuum up the cleaning product, my OLD Kenmore, canister style, vacuum cleaner would not work. It could not do the job any more. When I returned the equipment for the carpet cleaner, I told them that I wanted to purchase a used Rainbow machine. I knew Rainbow very well. I had in times past, sold them, (EXPENSIVE AS HELL BUT WORTH IT. {if you are willing to do what is necessary to operate the machine} ) The lady there led me over to a new Ricar, which was a bit less expensive, and I bought it. I could have not been more pleased Now I shop pawn shops and resale stores looking for Ricar and Rainbow machines, ( I own both and Evans keeps them performing well for me) I will go to them tomorrow for bags for my Ricar , and a small repair to my Rainbow beater bar head. YES, I WOULD WHOLE-HEARTEDLY RECOMMEND EVANS AND THEIR PEOPLE. THEY HAVE ALWAYS BEEN VERY NICE WITH ME, AND SAVED ME MONEY. read more

I came across Mario's review and it reminded me that I bought a vacuum from Evans on 5/12/11 and never wrote up a review. I had originally gone in there with an old "Eureka Boss" vacuum of mine that I had purchased many many years ago for under $100 which recently stopped working and started "smoking". I'm not surprised that the gentleman working there, Richard, advised that it wouldn't be worth fixing it. He claimed it would probably cost close to what I paid for the vacuum itself to replace the motor. Whether or not he was telling the truth, I don't know as I hadn't really shopped around for repairs, but it's hard to disagree with that assessment considering the vacuum when it was brand new was only like $80. I was pretty impressed by their Riccar line of vacuums. They are solid, American made and have a great warranty, though they are a bit on the pricey side. I purchased one for $269 and it has served me well so far. Is it better than the $80 Eureka Boss I had? Not sure I can say that. My Boss did the job, did it well, and lasted a very long time from what I can remember. I felt good supporting a local business and buying an American made product. So far the Riccar is still performing a year later without any problems. For the price I paid, I hope it lasts at least 10 more! read more

I took in may vacuum because it was clogged and needed to be cleaned. The service was friendly and efficient. They got my vacuum back to me in a couple of days as they indicated. The cost was very reasonable. Unfortunately there was a problem with the repair and I had to take it back. When I returned, they took care of me immediately and I had my vacuum back in an hour. Now it works better than it has in years. In spite of the problem I would definitely go back. read more

I took my Miele vacuum in to be repaired. I asked for 3 things: to fix the floor nozzle (could not be repaired would have to be replaced), to fix the power nozzle, and to fix the bag holder. I got a phone call about a week later with an estimate of $231.00. In detailing the quote they listed the cost of each repair (the exact ones I requested) which added to the total. I called about a week later to check the status and was told they were waiting on a part. Two weeks later they called to give me a revised quote listing a circuit board needed for the power nozzle. Again they listed the above repairs quoting a price for each which now totaled $250.97. In the meantime I have had to purchase another vacuum because of dog hair and remodeling work. Approximately a month after turning my vacuum in for repairs it is ready. However, I am now told that the $250.97 does not include the floor nozzle after being told twice over the phone that it does. My bill is now $326.81. When I questioned the amount they denied saying that it included the floor nozzle. They then proceeded to show me a list of repairs. They have made more repairs than I requested without my knowledge. The unauthorized repairs were not necessary to the performance of the vacuum. I am retired and have to budget my spending. This difference negatively impacted that budget. Needless to say I will never use this company again! read more
