We did not stay at the resort, but the place is beautiful and has tons for amenities! We came to Evans lake for Labor Day weekend and needed another boat since we had such a large crowd. Thomas at the resort was able to get us a pontoon last minute and we were able to launch our personal boat on the boat ramp at the resort. While I do think the launch fee is a bit much, I can understand being a price resort and lake. Great experience! New owners are doing an awesome job and can't wait to come rent a cabin at the resort! read more

Had a lovely stay over 4th of July weekend. We were able to go kayaking, tubing, watch and participate in the boat parade. Collected lots of goodies from the boats! We also made a trip to Hidden Lake Gardens on one of the rainy days! read more

Do not come to Evans Lake resort first of all there's no fishing on the boats pontoons we made a reservation for the boat until we found out. There is no fishing and we're still charged for the boat. Then we only left some garbage in the cabin that was in a bag to be thrown away and was charged $400 for it. There is a lot of smoking and drinking and partying going on there. I would not recommend this place for Kids. read more

Had the absolute worst experience at Evans Lake Resort this weekend. The cabin itself had some positives. It's in a lovely location on the water with a great view. However the overall stay was significantly impacted by the owners attitude. The most frustrating issue was related to a boat we rented separately from Robs rental . We tried renting one from Evans lake but they had none available and directed us to Robs. Robs policy was a minimum 2 day rental. We rented the biggest and most expensive cabin they had from Friday to Sunday. Check out time was at 11. Unfortunately because of the 2 day minimum rental with the boat we were wasting money just turning it in and we thought as long as we checked out at 11 we could just be in the lake for a couple more hours today with the family . We were rudely and aggressively told absolutely not!!! That it was not his problem that we wasted money or that we had extra time. The lack of flexibility was not only inconvenient but just seemed unnecessarily harsh. My husband called the boat rental company and asked that the boat be immediately picked up that we were not allowed to stay on the lake . The most shocking moment occurred As we waited in the empty parking lot quietly for them to arrive . The owner approached us rudlely using profanity and demanded that we move across the street immediately . We explained we needed to get our deposit back and that they were on the way. To make matters worse he called the police on us which was completely unnecessary and scared our kids in the car. I strongly urge other families to be aware of the owner's unprofessionalism and hostile attitude before considering this rental. While the cabins location has potential there are other great cabin rentals available that offer that same beautiful location / views and a more welcoming and professional experience . We usually rent from hideaway cove on the same lake. They were booked unfortunately and so we thought we would give this place a try. Now we know why they had availability. A huge shout out to the management at hideaway cove as they said even though we were not staying at their cabins we could have used their launch!!! They are all about customer service and making sure your family has the best time!!! DO NOT RENT FROM EVANS LAKE RESORT!!! read more

Friends and I stayed here this past weekend and were very impressed! The cabins are all renovated and beautiful! The new owners were so friendly and helpful. We went in a boat ride, took the kayaks out, and had camp fires. We attended a wedding nearby and they even had shuttle services for us (extra cost). I gave this a one just so I could tell you to stay away from this place. I called and made reservations to drop my boat in their landing and they gave me a reservation number and cost, when I should up some jerk with an attitude said its 2.5 times that cost and he was the owner and he didn't care what anybody told me he was charging his price or leave. Thats real customer service for ya! Especially based on the fact your in a customer service industry. Its not about the money its about how me and my wife were treated. Our family has stayed here for years except for the past 3 summers due to Covid. Finally, we were able to go back for our 3-day family weekend. Before making reservations, I came to find out it was under new management and many changes (needed) were made and all the cabins had been updated as well as so many other (needed) updates in every area of our yearly summer resort that we have made so many summer memories. Everything is so absolutely wonderful. We needed extra room as this was the 1st time taking my mom who is 83 and not well. The new manager went out of his way to make it work for us as many of the cabins were already rented out when we called. Upon arrival we were warmly greeted to make sure we like our cabins and to let us know everything we needed to know while we were there leaving us with no questions making it such a nice start to our arrival. I, we were in awe of the complete updates that were made! EVERYTHING top to bottom has been replaced. SO nice and so comfortable. Even the beach with comfortable beach chairs, new docks with beautiful blue lights at night, paddle boats, riding boats, so much beautifully done and from my understanding so much more to come. We highly recommend if you're looking for family fun, comfort and very kind management who will go the extra mile to make your family stay a memorial one. Looking forward to our family return next year. You will not be disappointed. read more

One star , for a five star price ($500. a night). We booked the private Island Chalet. There were no pictures of the house posted on the internet. The pictures that were posted, we now know, were of the other cabins on the main land. Privacy was deceiving. We shared the once very lovely, but now neglected home with a thousand +spiders. Cob webs hung from the window screens like hallooween curtains. OMG. One toilet was attached to the outside of the back porch, with a view. It backed up after the first night. OMG. The second toilet could only be entered through the bedrooms. Put quiet night's sleep out of your mind. When it was flushed a water spout appeared in the sink. OMG. We could not get the hot water to run to the shower. The second shower, added on in the corner of the full screened porch was lighted with a closet paste - on - light. Floor rugs were filthy. OMG. There were no mattress covers on any of the beds. OMG. When I lifted the mattress, it was littered with dirt and other objects (I need not look any closer). When we asked the manager for mattress covers, he asked if there were sheets. Then added, they don't use mattress covers, but steam clean the mattresses after every turn over of patrons. Clearly he had never turned over the mattress that I slept on. The kitchen had a refrigerator that needed a hand and a foot to securely close it. The dishes needed to washed before we used them. The floors were filthy with ground-in dirt. OMG. Spiders ran over the pillows, One spider ran across the back of the couch and down one of our parties arms, before disappearing back into the couch. One guest reported when she returned home and unpacked her pillow, which she carries with her, she found a squished spider. OMG. After two nights, we asked for a room change. We were told, we would have to sleep on the sheets that the former occupants had slept on, because they were not going to clean both rooms (the one we wanted to leave and the one we wanted to move into). When asked if we could change the sheets ourselves, we were denied. Now, you may ask, "Why did we stay?" We paid for our private chalet in the middle of the lake back in January. The money cleared our bank accounts within two days after we booked it. That should have been our first warning sign. My question is, "What were the chances of getting our money refunded if we could not even negotiate a change of sheets?" We were not going to spend any more money. We had not been sent a confirmation number or reciept. I learned other guests had also brought their bank statements as proof of payment. And needed them. OMG. Most of our party was raised in Alaska. We know how to 'ROUGH IT'! We also know where to make our voice count. If not in Michigan, then the internet. read more

We had a great family reunion here. It is quirky with unique cabins. With over 30 people, the different cabin layouts meant there was one perfect for each family. It is close to the highway, but hardly noticeable on the beach. What a gem! read more

We spent two nights at Kitchenette 6. Not much value for your money! The towels had holes in them and I've given better to the Salvation Army. The sheets did not fit the bed and my husband said he has hankies that were heavier. The TV was on a platform mounted to the wall that obstructed getting into the bed and could only be viewed from the bathroom doorway. There was one ceiling light in the cabin and it was difficult to read anywhere in the room or bed due to poor lighting. The bathroom had one ceiling light and no light in the shower. Maybe better because we couldn't see the mold while we showered in the dark. The WiFi was only usable in the smokey cabin where you checked in. Would not recommend it unless you want a place to get in from the rain! read more

Totally loved it!! We rented the island, the golden nugget lodge and several cabins for our weekend wedding of 90 total guests. They were very accommodating with everything we needed and more. Ron Noel is all business but knows whats going on and if he didnt have an answer then he always returned my calls. I would recommend this resort over and over. read more

last year we stayed there and the couch in our cottage was peed on by someone (not an animal) and it stunk, this year I booked, paid half the price then called over two weeks to cancel and they wouldn't refund my money. Never again will I consider staying there! read more

This was one of the worse vacation experiences we have ever had. There were several open cabins and yet they put us in the only one without a view and did not move us when we said we were not happy - the owner was one we told. Secondly, the grounds person is rarely around and personally yelled at me from across the yard for renting the paddle boats from another employee. I told him he I had left him 2 messages the night before and he did not return my call, he said he goes to bed at 6 pm and is not available to customers after that. The rooms are as expected for a older resort, but the dishes they provided in the cupboard were dirty. The owner did offer us a free room at another time because his grounds person was so awful, but we would never take him up on it. I would also like to add that you should not expect to get any money back and if you owe any they will charge you regardless of their poor customer service. The owner know how unsatisfied we were and still charged us the remainder of our balance a week after we stayed there. We paid $100 per night and it was worth about $50. He should have given us our money back and not charged us at all. Wake up owner, NOT THE WAY TO GET REPEAT BUSINESS!!!!! read more
