We've been going to Turtle Lake for more than 10 years on and off (wish it could be more often)…read more We've stayed in the lodge and now have a small motorhome. Both types of quarters have their qualities- just depends on how you like to vacation. There are so many things to do here! Beautiful indoor pool. Really nice tiki bar next to the "conversation pool", a rec building with pool, darts, cards... There are volleyball nets, shuffleboard, mini golf, pickleball courts and more! We've never stayed in one of the"park model" units, but they look lovely. There are dances on Saturday nights and themed weekends during the summer. We love it out here. A couple things to keep in mind: This is a FAMILY resort. There are a few families with kids. Sort of took me by surprise when we first visited, but everyone is very relaxed and take all things in stride. This is NOT a swingers place. No one is looking to "hook up". No one cares about the size of your butt or whether you have weird surgery scars. This is a place where everyone enjoys what you can't do most other places: relax, feel comfortable in your own skin and meet new friends. As a woman, I can honestly tell you I was freaked out about going the first time. We're taught to obsess about cellulite and wrinkles. I've never felt as confidant and comfortable as I do at TLR. It becomes obvious right away that no one judges you... about anything! Once you shed your clothes, no one can tell if your rich or making this the one vacation you can take every couple of years. You don't have to compare yourself with a anyone else on any level. And guys... don't worry about being aroused or embarrassed. After a little adjustment period, when you get used to people being friendly and smiling a lot, you just don't feel like you have to be someone you aren't either. You get to know people for who they are. It sounds corny, but you feel natural here. You appreciate people for what's inside. I'm still a little bummed that they don't have the motorcycle rallies anymore (such a blast!) but everything else keeps getting better here. ;) You should visit! Really! (Bring SUNSCREEN!)

It's a big resort with lots of places for tent and rustic camping (with water and electricity hook…read moreups nearby)... It's quiet and secluded, but I found it easy to get to town to grab dinner and a few small things that I had forgot. The indoor pool and hot tub were pretty popular with the regulars, and they were very welcoming of a new guest. I did notice that the hot tub was a wee bit grimy, but not too bad. Also, the women at the front desk/office we are very friendly and accommodating. There is a quota to maintain the male to female ratio, so make sure to ask when booking your reservation.

The rooms felt very clean. It was at the very beginning of the season. The pool, hot tub, tiki hut, coffee shop were all closed but the staff was very accommodating. We stored our luggage until time to check in. Also Nick had the fire pit started for us for when we returned so we could enjoy it! We took many photos with the beautiful lake view!! This place is highly recommended!!! Thank you for the wonderful place to stay.

This place is terrible. Our first morning there was no cold water...that's right no cold water in…read morethe entire hotel. The water in the shower was so hot it was scalding and you could not shower. Brushing your teeth with scalding hot water is fun too. The maintenance man told me he was busy remodeling the 3rd floor and could not get to it. How about the bar, we'll the bartender hardly could speak or understand English. They only had 3 types of beer, they were out of everything else. Our friend ordered a Margarita and they had no mix so the bartender mixed tequila with some other clear alcohol and squirt and charged $12.00. Speaking of charged, this is the only hotel we have stayed at that charged $3.00 for a small coffee and $6.00 for a large, in fact it's first hotel that we have stayed that charged for coffee. You can't complain to the manager because he or she is non existent and was never once on site. And to top it off you better not need anything a night but if you do you can find the night desk clerk at the pool after it's closed with her boyfriend the other bartender, that by the way closed the bar early so he could steal booze and meet his girl friend, the night desk clerk at the pool. We will never stay at this over priced joke of a hotel. Most of the staff should be fired and the owner would know this if he was ever there or gave a crap.
