All very helpful & happy people! Had a very relaxing experience…read more New to this experience, and would definitely return

We've been going to Turtle Lake for more than 10 years on and off (wish it could be more often)…read more We've stayed in the lodge and now have a small motorhome. Both types of quarters have their qualities- just depends on how you like to vacation. There are so many things to do here! Beautiful indoor pool. Really nice tiki bar next to the "conversation pool", a rec building with pool, darts, cards... There are volleyball nets, shuffleboard, mini golf, pickleball courts and more! We've never stayed in one of the"park model" units, but they look lovely. There are dances on Saturday nights and themed weekends during the summer. We love it out here. A couple things to keep in mind: This is a FAMILY resort. There are a few families with kids. Sort of took me by surprise when we first visited, but everyone is very relaxed and take all things in stride. This is NOT a swingers place. No one is looking to "hook up". No one cares about the size of your butt or whether you have weird surgery scars. This is a place where everyone enjoys what you can't do most other places: relax, feel comfortable in your own skin and meet new friends. As a woman, I can honestly tell you I was freaked out about going the first time. We're taught to obsess about cellulite and wrinkles. I've never felt as confidant and comfortable as I do at TLR. It becomes obvious right away that no one judges you... about anything! Once you shed your clothes, no one can tell if your rich or making this the one vacation you can take every couple of years. You don't have to compare yourself with a anyone else on any level. And guys... don't worry about being aroused or embarrassed. After a little adjustment period, when you get used to people being friendly and smiling a lot, you just don't feel like you have to be someone you aren't either. You get to know people for who they are. It sounds corny, but you feel natural here. You appreciate people for what's inside. I'm still a little bummed that they don't have the motorcycle rallies anymore (such a blast!) but everything else keeps getting better here. ;) You should visit! Really! (Bring SUNSCREEN!)

First the positives. Excellent location. Great views of…read moreLake Erie from every room. Convenient parking. Nice (but tiny) shampoo, conditioner and lotion containers in bathroom. Comfortable beds (though high). The two pools and a large spa pool were nice, with many lounge chairs, and extra towels available in the lobby. Now the negatives. - When they say "check-in at 4 pm", they MEAN 4 pm. We arrived at 3:45 and they wouldn't check us in until EXACTLY 4 pm. - Room wasn't perfectly clean - carpet dusty, some dirt around the edges in the bathroom. - We were there three nights. Room was never cleaned nor towels replaced. - Some photos on VRBO showed microwave/small refrigerator and coffee maker. There were none. - No breakfast available. No complimentary coffee. There was a small bar in the lobby with coffee to purchase. - Room air conditioner was noisy. - Automatic night lighting on all room balconies could not be turned off, so we had to have the drapes fully closed to sleep. - Loud music was broadcast all afternoon and evening. We were on second floor and could hear even inside our room. We were told the music was required "for the Tiki Bar". - The room's balcony was screened, but at least twice a day birds got in underneath the balcony side adjoining room walls. After 20 or so minutes the birds got out the same way on their own. - No phone in the room and we had a hard time finding the front desk phone number anyway. Finally just had to go down to the front desk when we needed something.

For the price, the place leaves a lot to be desired. . The carpeting near the bathroom was wet the…read moreentire time we were there & the room smelled like mildew. There was no clock or room phone, refrigerator, coffee maker, microwave or safe. The water barely got warm enough for a shower. The sheer curtain at the patio door had bug guts squished on it and the patio furniture had dead bugs, spiders & spider webs all over them. The pool lounges were covered in spider webs, spiders & dead bugs, pool bottom had huge chunks of paint/cement coming off & there were tiles off around the edge of the pool as well. For over $300 a night, there's huge room for improvement.
