We would consider staying here again but next time we would email with a request as a reminder of the pillow case. We enjoyed how close everything was from here and that made it so much more enjoyable.

Less than half a block away from a coffee shop, restaurants and lots of shops. The parking is attached to the parking for The Purple Rose Theater. You cannot park on the driveway of the house you need to park on the alley way, which is ONE WAY. The first time we stayed at one of their smallest rooms and this recent time we stayed at the Penthouse. I didn't understand that it has a lot of stairs to go up to the Penthouse, so just an FYI if you can't do stairs this is not recommended bc it's a lot of steps. It is very spacious and you have a shower and full bathroom attached to the space and it has a day bed and a pull out couch. The pillows were sprayed with fabreeze and I'm very sensitive to stuff like that so it was not a pleasant feeling. I wish I would have brought my own pillow cases but i forgot them. Overall we would definitely stay here again, we would just not get the Penthouse again.

This place has true character that you can tell they have put their heart and soul into with taste and class saving this building from dereliction and destruction. This is definitely NOT a bored housewife weekend warrior type of B&B who has filled this place with a mismatch of unfitting antiques and Pier One chotchke. Having had to travel for a good part of my career I have stayed in many B& B's. This place will stay in my top 10 for sure and definitely hope to make the pilgrimage at least once a year. The hostess and her husband are amazing people and in the conversations had you can tell they are very genuine and have a love for the place. I can only hope that their children take up the same affection and continue on. It would be a definite loss for Jonesville and anyone who is not experienced it.

The guest innkeeper, Rachel was amazingly available for questions throughout our entire stay. Nice restaurants close by and if you enjoy antique shops, there is a complex in Allen, MI, about 5 miles away. No matter what time of year you choose to stay here, it will be worth the trip. I cannot wait to return to this destination.

She knows her way around so please feel welcomed to ask her for directions. Her cozy abode is quirky at first but you'll be drawn by the deep passion this lady has for these knickknacks. Home is well furnished: community bathroom, community kitchen, 3 bedrooms, and dining room (red room) for breakfast. Very clean and full of color. She cooks a pretty good "eggs in a basket" dish that's a scramble of eggs, asparagus, almonds, cranberries, and chicken/asiago cheese sausages. Croissant (so good!), coffee, tea, and orange juice is also available. She's very accommodating so don't be afraid to ask. The only issues we came across were the extra soft beds and fleece sheets that may be uncomfortable for some. Room's aren't too spacious but enough to house two people comfortably (but who stays in on a vacation?). She does have cats but they stay in her room and may roam in the breakfast area. I'm allergic to cats but they were not a problem for me at all. Please do keep the library bed and breakfast in mind the next time you come to Ann Arbor as her price is comparable and she'll make your experience a pleasurable memory!

The owner, Joan Knoertzer, indicated that she was late for an appointment, but asked for a minute, then came back and told us to come by anyway! We arrive to a non-description residence covered with grapevines and trees on Mary Street, just off the busy corner of Packard and State. You could almost throw a rock and hit the Athletic Administration building we were so close! We parked on the street and walked up the curving steps to warmly greeted by a wonderful lady decked out in full Maize and Blue. This was just the beginning, as we entered which could best described as a bibliophile paradise crossed with a museum to all things Ann Arbor/ U of M. Climbing the steps, you first encounter the Poetry and Mystery Rooms, followed by a full Pullman kitchen and sitting area. If your into Ann Arbor's past, you'll find two great hanging lights from the old Pretzel Bell Restaurant, surrounded by books of all types. Last is the Tiny Book Room, which is filled with - you guessed it - tiny books. We had a great dinner later than night at Melting Pot (review forthcoming) and went to bed early and slept great. We woke up the next morning to amazing smells coming from downstairs, where we and another couple were greeted to fresh coffee, OJ, homemade pumpkin bread and pumpkin butter! This was followed by a fruit course and an amazing quiche. Mixed with a wonderful conversation, we felt like we were totally at home. Even the three cats, Kipling, Cinnamon and, well, I forget the third, treated us well. We then spent the next hour talking about everything books - we just didn't want to leave! Trust me, there is no better place to stay in AA, especially for the price and the food. Try it, you won't be sorry!

Notes: Bring your own hair dryer and bath toiletries. They are not provided. If you're a light sleeper or late sleeper, you'll hear the early morning prep from the coffee shop downstairs. The building is circa late 19th or early 20th century - - not sound proof. Consider part of the historic charm. We did. Sundays aren't an issue the coffee shop is closed.

Tecumseh absolutely charmed us, and part of the charm lay in this very nice little place (and I mean little, one apt. only available, while we were there) above the local coffee shop, owned by the same people as the coffee shop. So, locally owned, and getting in touch to book rooms has you calling the coffee shop, so don't be confused! Anyway, the price was very reasonable, and the loft was quaint, an efficiency apt with a living room, bedroom, bathroom and kitchen. Clean and comfortable, located on the main street and up a flight of stairs (they have one other place, a larger apt. with several bedrooms). We walked to dinner at Evans Street Station, and to the little shops up and down the strip during the afternoon. Tecumseh's quiet--if you want clubs, bars and a roulette wheel, this is not the spot for you--but if you're into the small town, quiet-getaway- experience, I highly recommend this inn. The breakfast is a $10 gift card for the full service coffee shop downstairs, which for two people can be tight, but you can use it the day before, and put your bagels and coffee in the apt. fridge, which is what we did (see caveat), or you can use the morning of, if they're open (Caveat: the coffee shop wasn't open on the Sunday we were there, and may not be open on Sundays period. Pick out breakfast foods in advance for Saturday night stays).
