    Awesome room!!!!

This B&B is walking distance to the Main Street and all the streets leading into the university area. It is a really good stop to explore the area by foot. The B&B has its own parking spots for their guests. If you check my photos attached, they have such beautiful and spacious room with lots of natural light coming in from the skylight windows. The room was clean and the bed was super comfy. My husband did not want to leave when it was time ..haha. Their breakfast was delicious, a mix of warm and cold offerings. Most importantly, there was lots of good coffee and creamer. The outside porch dining area was full of colorful blooming flowers. I absolutely love this place. The owner also graciously offered complimentary pop, water and Keurig coffee including a bowl of candies throughout the day. I love that the owner showed pride in their place and everything that they did showed care for their guests to make sure that they had a pleasant and uncomplicated time during their stay!

    AABB breakfast at the patio.

This place will forever stay in my heart. I can proudly talk about it all day long and will treasure every minute of our stay. The experience we have had was overwhelming! My boyfriend made the reservation 10 days prior to the planned stay and we were upgraded to their best room,Jamboree for the first day after a quick deal with Pat,the lovely and kind hostess/owner. This big house has several rooms with different themes but overall, the interior is very bohemian, rustic and fully accentuated. Every guests share the living room, dining area and the main house front deck overlooking the University of Michigan main campus. Again, this is not your typical and ordinary hotel experience. This is more like a host-guest personal connection and that's why I loved it. The Jamboree room with the outside hot tub. This was the best part. It's covered by a tarp but the shrubs and mini trees were good enough to seclude the area for privacy. It has more spacious bathroom, tub and a kitchenette that completed the look. What else can we ask for a generous supply of towels and toiletries! Noted the TJ organic products. Simple things and yet,I don't get this a lot anywhere else. I appreciated it so much. I wrote a thank you note in the guest book. :) The complimentary breakfast that served some local bread products and the famous Zingerman's deli! Always awesome! We had spent 2 breakfast mornings here(always after an early morning run) and I have requested hard boiled eggs. Pat made sure it was done. Keurig, regular coffee and tea were unlimited. Covered parking. Washer and dryer. Walking distance to all bars and restos. I would come back.

Yep, this was out front. This eclectic B&B is something!

This B&B has a great location!! But it's kinda dark and dusty. There is stuff everywhere you look! Little collections of old fashioned trinkets. Really the location is great! The gals that work there work very very hard. Breakfast is delicious and fresh. Snacks are out through the day.

She knows her way around so please feel welcomed to ask her for directions. Her cozy abode is quirky at first but you'll be drawn by the deep passion this lady has for these knickknacks. Home is well furnished: community bathroom, community kitchen, 3 bedrooms, and dining room (red room) for breakfast. Very clean and full of color. She cooks a pretty good "eggs in a basket" dish that's a scramble of eggs, asparagus, almonds, cranberries, and chicken/asiago cheese sausages. Croissant (so good!), coffee, tea, and orange juice is also available. She's very accommodating so don't be afraid to ask. The only issues we came across were the extra soft beds and fleece sheets that may be uncomfortable for some. Room's aren't too spacious but enough to house two people comfortably (but who stays in on a vacation?). She does have cats but they stay in her room and may roam in the breakfast area. I'm allergic to cats but they were not a problem for me at all. Please do keep the library bed and breakfast in mind the next time you come to Ann Arbor as her price is comparable and she'll make your experience a pleasurable memory!

The owner, Joan Knoertzer, indicated that she was late for an appointment, but asked for a minute, then came back and told us to come by anyway! We arrive to a non-description residence covered with grapevines and trees on Mary Street, just off the busy corner of Packard and State. You could almost throw a rock and hit the Athletic Administration building we were so close! We parked on the street and walked up the curving steps to warmly greeted by a wonderful lady decked out in full Maize and Blue. This was just the beginning, as we entered which could best described as a bibliophile paradise crossed with a museum to all things Ann Arbor/ U of M. Climbing the steps, you first encounter the Poetry and Mystery Rooms, followed by a full Pullman kitchen and sitting area. If your into Ann Arbor's past, you'll find two great hanging lights from the old Pretzel Bell Restaurant, surrounded by books of all types. Last is the Tiny Book Room, which is filled with - you guessed it - tiny books. We had a great dinner later than night at Melting Pot (review forthcoming) and went to bed early and slept great. We woke up the next morning to amazing smells coming from downstairs, where we and another couple were greeted to fresh coffee, OJ, homemade pumpkin bread and pumpkin butter! This was followed by a fruit course and an amazing quiche. Mixed with a wonderful conversation, we felt like we were totally at home. Even the three cats, Kipling, Cinnamon and, well, I forget the third, treated us well. We then spent the next hour talking about everything books - we just didn't want to leave! Trust me, there is no better place to stay in AA, especially for the price and the food. Try it, you won't be sorry!

More important to you, it's nestled in a beautiful neighborhood about one mile to most elements of the U of M central campus. So you can walk, if you're so inclined, and five to ten minutes in a car gets you to any number of important or interesting places. Parking is on the street, which turned out to be no problem, as there always were plenty of spaces near the entry sidewalk. Perhaps it's helpful to say that the Stone Chalet campus is the site of a former Unitarian church. That's how I remember it, driving/jogging by during student years. Therese remembers it was the site of piano recitals. Anyway, the former "main building" has been converted to an event center (we didn't spend much time there) and the former parsonage converted to guest quarters. Our room was Alice-in-Wonderland themed, spacious and cozy for an autumn visit. Breakfast was ordered via an app, with many choices, including gluten-free options for Therese. If you want a good and even inspiring conversation, seek out the owner Vincent, who can share some fascinating stories about real estate and his efforts to purchase, maintain, and make profitable the Stone Chalet property. We enjoyed our time here, and wish Vincent, Daisy, family and staff, all the best. Thank you, Stone Chalet.

I had my small 12 lb dog on the trip with me but explained to Jan that since no dogs were allowed, that my dog would continue staying with my sister at her cottage down the road. I went on to tell her how my dog loves my sister and she would be more than fine there. My dog never once stepped foot on her property. The experience once we arrived at the property was absolutely terrible. The property was in deplorable condition. Weeds had overtaken the 'walkway', the home was so dirty, windows were yellow! Curtains were dusty and filthy. The best part was the blood stained sheets on the bed. The house had an overwhelming smell of old & musty mixed with mothballs. So on top of the blood stained sheets on the bed, dried blood in the trashcan, the smell of musty and mothballs made my pregnant daughter in law sick. I immediately reached out to Jan and explained my concerns. Not only did she not return my text for a few hours, she accused me of not being forthcoming with who was going to be staying, accused me of having my dog on her property, and had the audacity to tell me she advertises the cottage as 'rustic', and as 'grandma's cottage' and if I wanted stainless steel and granite that I should've booked elsewhere. She never once took any accountability and lied to Airbnb trying to screw me out of my money. I would avoid doing any business whatsoever with Jan Davies. BEWARE!

It is also very close to other lines (6 and 5). Briarwood Mall is close by as well. I am very grateful to Jan and Larry for showing me around Ann Arbor, being there for me when I needed an urgent ride, and helping me with my move. I understand that these are not standard services, but it is nice to have good neighbors when you are new to town. I am frankly puzzled by some of the comments on this site. They do not reflect my personal experience. I have nothing but praise for the place and the management. After all, having stayed there for 90+ days should count for something. Enough with the negativity! I would highly recommend Davies House Inn and I would definitely stay there again.
