The base goes so high my dogs entire head could be crushed.
Teresa F.

Don't buy Lazy Boy from Evans. I got a recliner and was told that they could put a swivel base on any chair. Went home to Folsom and placed phone order with Evans. When the chair was delivered ($180) the base was unstable and didn't work right. It had an ugly half circle in back, was 4 1/2", not 3", off the ground, tipped to the ground when footrest extended. Impossible to recline! It also was high enough to crush a pet or childs head. I wanted to return it. I was told they wouldn't take anything back because of covid (it's leather!) I was never told this. The manager, Alan, offered to put the regular base back on (for $75). When I expressed concern to him about my dog's head getting crushed he dismissed me and just said "cute pup". So dismissive! I was so upset and disgusted I went to the Lazy Boy store. They said Evans should have showed me a swivel base and the differences. They were surprised Evans wouldn't take it back. Lazy Boy direct sent a tech out. Lazy Boy (direct!) was awesome. There was a way to modify base to make it less "tippy" and lower. Evans is clueless, service was terrible and they were NOT knowledgable. Buy direct from a Lazy Boy store. Yelp hasn't posted all my pics...will try later. They show how it's impossible to recline with the swivel base before modification. Evans did nothing!!!

After purchasing my item,…read morethis older Caucasian woman dressed in a blue top (who I was later told was the manager) approached me in the parking lot and curtly demanded to see my receipt. I produced it and she compared the price on my item with the receipt, presumably to ensure I bought it (and didn't steal it or swapped tags with another item?). Then she handed it back to me without a word and started to walk back into the store. Nothing along the lines of "thank you, have a nice day" or any courtesy for patronizing their business. As she entered the door to the Restore, she swung back around and snapped at me about my car being parked in the handicap spot if I'm not disabled. I personally am not, but my mother-in-law is, and my mother-in-law was still checking out her items, and we had the disabled placard hung up in the car. Again, not a single word after this. She did tell me my trunk wasn't closed fully though, so I appreciated that. I guess she had to have the last word? I was made to feel like a criminal. I went to the counter where my mother-in-law was checking out and told her how the manager just rudely spoke to and treated me. The staff at the counter apologized and I replied it's not their fault. It's obvious to me the manager hates her job, so for the sake of ensuring continued business by well-meaning customers, she should either show some respect or let someone who can smile take her job.

One star for Julie's attitude. 5 starts for the LOADING crew!…read more Who knew that at a store such a the habitat restore you have to make sure to use perfect vocabulary with their highly educated staff. Julie was so incredibly UNHELPFUL when I came in today to pick up my items we purchased on Tuesday. She can't seem to find the correlation between the words pickup and loading and was so condescending when I had to spell out for her I was here to pick up my items. When she finally was able to compute that, everything went fairly smoothly until some moron blocked the parking lot with their trailer and then she came out and asked me if I was carrying my furniture I bought to my car...lol I would pay someone to do that for me Julie, if that was the case. Regardless of my awful experience with her, and her disgusting attitude, we got our items we paid for and are happy. Hopefully Julie sees happier days soon.
