Hi. My name is Kate,…read moreand I hate dentists. I've always been part of the club of people who fear dentists and teeth cleaning. I mean, could those instruments BE any more scary? I'm sorry - is that a tiny pick-axe or medieval weapon in your hand? What did you say - Captain Hook lent you that? OMG - WHAT is that drilling noise? Is there a pothole in here? Everything is magnified 10x as the hygienist approaches me. Hold on a sec, I can't breathe. Okay - so, that was dramatic. But seriously, I know some of you feel me. I am very picky with my dentists because I need someone who understands, and who will treat my gums and teeth gently. I need to feel like the hygienist is not having fun torturing me. I need to feel safe. So why did this place get 5 stars? Because it erases (most of) my fears. Hands together now, and repeat after me - it's gonna be okay, it's gonna be okay.

He examined a tooth that was previously diagnosed by another practice as an abscess in a tooth that was crowned and had a root canal in previously. He more than likely saved my tooth by detecting the source of my discomfort. It was an adjacent tooth, which had an Enamel-Dentine fracture in it. Dr. Osdinsky will follow-up with additional diagnostic tools to rule out missing anything on the likely previously misdiagnosed root canal tooth, which is the prudent thing to do, but has in the meantime treated the fractured tooth with Hydroxyapetite and Ozone treatment, to help with the tooth remineralization and fight back any potential anaerobic infection with minimal disturbance to the health of my oral biome. Knowing what I know now about oral health and its implications and impact on very serious general ailments elsewhere in the body, having a knowledgeable dentist who doesn't prescribe broad-spectrum antibiotics willy-nilly but instead treats things responsibly. Dr. Odinsky's bedside manners are excellent and he is very pleasant to interact with. The staff is equally friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable.

When I arrived today, I was told I'd be seeing a different hygienist. I explained that I specifically booked with Lilli three months in advance for that exact reason. The receptionist, a blonde, middle-aged woman, was dismissive and unapologetic, even after I made it clear I had traveled for this appointment. Instead of taking ownership, she suggested I may have made a mistake, which was both incorrect and inappropriate. There was no effort to accommodate the situation or correct it. When I asked to speak with Dr. Odinsky, she refused and repeatedly spoke over me until I had to ask her to stop and listen. This isn't about a scheduling error, those happen. It's about how it was handled. There was no accountability, no attempt to resolve the issue, and no basic level of professionalism. This would not have happened under Dr. Singer's ownership. The difference in how patients are treated is noticeable and extremely disappointing.

I have been going to the same dentist since I was a kid, and I got used to things always happening the same way. Every other time, x-rays. 20 minutes of painful scraping, polish, floss, more scraping for some reason. The same 80's music, the same smells, the same toothbrush given to me on my way out. As it turns out, dental technology has come a long way over the last 29 years. My dentist is no longer 3 miles away from me, so it was time to find a new one close to work that took my new dental insurance. A friend of mine recommended Dr. Jallad - best recommendation ever. Apparently now dentists can scrape your teeth with a pressurized water spray that does the same job as the pick - with minimal force. This is amazing, especially for someone (me) with sensitive teeth and slightly receding (runs in the family) gums. X-rays, scraping, polish, out of there. He was extremely friendly and minded all of my sensitive spots. No pain, no extra cost, no extra work, no cavities! I got to watch the World Cup while he was working, and I was done in 20 minutes!
