Everybody knows Europa! It is such a great place to meet and it always seems crowded from early morning to late night. It's is the centerpiece of the six cafes inhabiting this small section of the Zollergasse near the Lindengasse, I love to sit in its Schanigarten and watch the world pass by. Meeting a couple of friends recently here was a wonderfut excuse to enjoy an Ottakringer Zwickl and a Philly Steak Sandwich. Well to be honest it was nothing like a real Philly Steak Sandwich but that's what it was called on the menu. Still it was tasty in its own right and my friends who don't know the real thing enjoyed it anyway. Sometimes it's the thought that counts! Service was friendly and Europa was the perfect place to meet up. Tip - Remember Europa is open until 5 AM. It's good place to know for a middle of night food/coffee stop after a night on the town!. read more

This is a simple restaurant bar but there is a lot to like. Cool lounge music is playing indoors and in warm days, you can sit outside under an awning and enjoy the world going by. The biggest plus about Europa is the super friendly service. Everyone was smiley and helpful. It really made our visit! We ordered the Schinkenfleckerln, essentially a pasta and ham dish that came with salad. Simple tasty fare that I really enjoyed. read more

YUUUMM. i blindly ordered what was called bread dumpling and scrambled egg. it tastes like french toast duh!! only made into a savory meal instead of sweet with syrup. sooo good. and a salad! that is hard to find! i was there in the day, popular place to be, and i sat outside. good free wifi. looks like from other reviews that ill have to go back at night too! read more

It's everything I was looking for: a place to sit for hours with great caffeinated options and good (non-distracting) music. The environment is nothing spectacular necessarily but it feels very local, and has great vibes. It's also super English friendly if you're not great with your German yet, like me! The kitchen is open til 4am!!!!! So it's great for late night and breakfast is available until 4pm, so it's great for late starters as well. Music is anywhere from Frank Ocean, to pleasant 90's classics, Lauryn Hill, you won't have to listen to Selena Gomez. Note: The staff will likely never bother you again after you order so if you're needy for attention, more water, or the check, just wave... The staff is very friendly. Good place to have a beer or coffee and work on your laptop or perhaps read your favorite book. Nevertheless, it is, perhaps, its Monday to Friday Menu, the best thing this place has to offer you. Taste rich well presented dishes. The kind one would only get in very fancy and expensive restaurants, but for a relative cheap price. read more

A relaxing and large cafe, and one of the only nicer yet affordable places to eat in this area. Sitting outside is lovely on this quiet street corner, but even on rainy days the interior is large and inviting. Especially beloved are the large window seats. The service is prompt and friendly, prices are average for central Vienna, and the food is generally good. The Vollkorn burger is a treat, and well priced. Overall one of the best places in this area to go for a breakfast (only until 16h!) or a mid day snack. There is also an evening program but the higher drink prices are discouraging. read more

It was here, at the distinctly lovely (and steamy!) Cafe Europa...that I experienced my very first Viennese melange. I think everyone should remember their very first. In fact, I'm such a devout coffee drinker...that when someone (in this case, Andreas R!) introduces me to a new fashion or style of my favored addiction, my ears (and senses) perk up. Europa is on my street and a very popular cafe in Vienna. It has everything from music and dancing on Friday nights (in the very back of the bar) to Sunday brunch, so there's something for everyone here. Their coffee (melange/cappuccino) is consistently decent, and they have a great pasta salad (Pasta Freda). I also really like their club sandwich and the linguini with pine nuts, spinach, tomatoes and parmesan cheese (Linguini mit Gerösteten Pinienkernen). It's a nice place to curl up in one of the window seats and read or internet (that's a verb) on a rainy day, or sit outside on a pretty day. Almost every time I walk past Europa, it's packed, and on pretty days there are usually more people outside than inside. read more

Came here on a late Saturday night for drinks while visiting Vienna. We read that it was good for both late nights and during the day time. They serve everything from coffee to drinks to breakfast and dinner. We didn't eat there, but had beer and my friend ordered a whiskey sour. I would probably stick to beer/wine or coffee here, since my friend's drink was... more sour than anything. Would definitely come back again and try their food and whatever else they offer. So this actually pretty difficult to review this place. I generally like it a lot. The food is pretty good nothing fancy but solid. So far so good BUT the service is just horrible. Just really really bad! I've been there numerous of times but the service never improves. Weirdly enough the last time I went there it was packed and the service was decent. This place is a classic! It is one of the most popular place in Vienna! Their kitchen is open until 04.00 so it is perfect for having a last drink and eat something before heading home or starting the night! However, they have really unfriendly waitresses. If you go there with someone who knows them they are friendly of course! What makes me so disgusted is that there are some waitresses who bring the glasses to you by holding it from the top of the glass where you drink. And you see their greasy hand prints on the glass! The chef here is not covering her head with anything - as a result her hairs on your meal. Coffee is decent, atmosphere is cosy. Wouldn't advise to eat here though. read more
