They seemed fine enough until we received a $400 bill last week for a standard check up. When I checked my husband's insurance, it was due to a charge on there for an xray that is only covered on his insurance once every five years meaning it is not a standard xray. My husband called the office to talk with them about the bill, and the office lady put him on hold to bring up his account. When she got back on the phone, she was immediately rude and said he signed a form stating they do a full xray examination for every new patient, no exceptions. My husband told he that in all the years he has gotten his teeth cleaned twice a year, he has never received a bill or had a dentist office give him xrays that weren't standard. The office lady admitted they were special xrays and were stated in the paperwork they give new patients. The office lady told him he should have read through the paperwork, and it's not their responsibility to tell patients about xrays that may not be covered. We are now stuck with a $400 bill for their little scheme they have going on, and we clearly won't be returning. If you don't want to get an unexpected bill on your first visit or ever, I would find a new dentist. They know exactly what they are doing by the way she spoke to my husband and her demeanor with the billing situation. I would not recommend them to anyone.

I had an extremely disappointing and frustrating experience with Ellisville Dental. The only issue…read morewith my teeth was a small gap between my front teeth. Treatment began at the beginning of 2023, and I was charged $4,800 upfront. I paid 50% out of pocket, and the rest was billed to my medical insurance. They set up an auto-pay plan that was supposed to last 12 months at $200 per month. However, they continued charging me for more than 14 months without clear explanation. I requested a full payment and charge breakdown more than 20 times, and they repeatedly refused to provide it. Over the course of nearly 3 years, I was required to attend more than 30 appointments and wear over 50 invisible trays. During this time, I was charged additional fees multiple times for "extra trays" and "lab fees." In total, I ended up spending over $6,000. Despite all of this time, money, and effort, my teeth look essentially the same as they did before treatment. The gap was never fixed, and instead of taking responsibility, they told me I would need to wear a retainer for life. To make matters worse, when I requested a replacement retainer at the end of treatment, they asked me $360. I later confirmed directly with the lab that the actual cost of the retainer is about $10. Ellisville Dental takes no responsibility for failed treatment outcomes and refuses to provide transparency regarding billing or payments. I endured 3 years of discomfort, over 30 appointments, and even a minor surgical procedure, only to end up with no improvement. I have gathered all documentation, including before-and-after photos and payment records, and I am preparing to file a lawsuit. I would strongly caution others to think twice before choosing Ellisville Dental.

Dr. Hellmann worked on our daughter today and her life will never be the same! We FULLY expected drama and tears today, but my daughter was BEAMING and staring in the mirror, flinging her hair! She even went to the gym tonight! We are all shocked at how truly painless this has been for her and how beautiful she feels today...a day we thought would never come! Hellmann and Madeline (assistant who was SO TRULY KIND and encouraging...SHE SOLD US with sweetness...and confidence in her boss..and so relatable) they made it happen! Sadly, due to bone loss...implants were not possible. Our options were sickening for our beautiful girl. We visited 5 dentists to review lifelong solutions for my daughter (after 10 years of this and that...to get by...and keep her smile normal- ish.) We could NOT embrace the idea of dentures for our daughter getting ready for college! Hellman assured us about a Bridge. My husband and I were skeptical. This is our daughter! This is her lifelong smile! Is this guy a specialist? But...my daughter felt MOST comfortable in his office. She BEGGED to get her work done here! Hellmann was not our cheapest quote...but they worked with us on overall quote and let us make payments. My daughter just loved Hellmann...and his staff WON our business. We dreaded this visit, after 10 years of trauma - and our daughter came out smiling and in NO PAIN! Hours later, NO PAIN! Mostly, after years of being traumatized...she is not complaining, she is BEAMING! She is full of hope and for the first time in 10 years, she isn't taking out her retainer with fake teeth...or accommodating everything around mealtime and dental health...and pain. She is FREE! Mostly, she feels pretty. HUGE! All night we discussed how lucky she is, how lucky we all are to see her so free and so happy with a result, of all that happened today - after 2 hours in the chair. We are grateful. We are overjoyed...mostly because our daughter feels the joy of being the STRONG confident girl...without worry or care. She feels whole tonight (and isn't even in pain! WE CANNOT BELIEVE THAT!) She went out for ice cream tonight with friends. We were expecting a week of ongoing dental horror. I cannot believe Gods plan...and how I followed her lead...letting her determine who she felt the comfortable with. What a reward this day has been. I cannot recommend this office more! We are so grateful for Hellmann and his staff today. We have waited for this day...when the final steps are in play.
