I had endured an 18 month long severe and treatment resistant case of mental illness that nearly claimed my life. His sudden passing was a very traumatic experience for me as I had grown very attached and felt lost at sea without a raft as I will still psychologically recovering in the aftermath of this crippling and dangerous disease of the brain and mind. Dr. Suzuki came as such a relief during a time I felt so bereft as I was still so traumatized and lost my savior. If you're needing a Psychiatrist who is very knowledgeable, compassionate and quickly gives away his genuine interest in his patients by the questions he asks that are simultaneously specific, direct and also presents with genuine curiosity (it's the curiosity part that lets me know that he really cares) which helps build real rapport and a connection that makes you feel like he is also your friend, you Will suddenly feel you are in the best of hands then Dr. Suzuki will be the perfect fit for you. I always know without a doubt that when I need to reach him, he will be getting back to me promptly and he is most generous with his time during these calls as well. They never feel rushed. As I had grown to love, admire and respect Dr. Christian Rutland I can say the same for Dr. Daniel Suzuki too. His warmth and humanness is also so refreshing and adds to the one disclaimer I will make, you too will grow attached. One last disclaimer is you'll wish you could spend 90 mins with him as the 30-35 standard appointment time is so comforting and pleasant that it goes by in a flash!!!!

The staff was sufficient and helped get everything taken care of. However, during my appointment with Dr. Jun Yang on 8/8/2026, I had a similar experience to what another reviewer, Paulina A., described. I felt that the appointment was rushed. Dr. Yang asked me several questions, and I came prepared with a long list of concerns and things I wanted to discuss. Because I felt pressed for time, I ended up trying to summarize everything into a few main points instead. While I was still thinking through questions I wanted to ask, it felt like the appointment came to an end before I had a chance to fully address everything. I was also prescribed Atomoxetine HCl 40 mg. Since this was my first time taking medication for this type of concern, I was surprised by how strongly I reacted to the first dose and did not feel comfortable continuing it. I stopped taking it after that first dose and contacted the office to let them know that I would not be continuing the medication and would be canceling my upcoming appointments. Unfortunately, this was not the experience I was hoping for, especially as someone seeking psychiatric care for the first time, and I will likely look elsewhere for support. That said, I do appreciate the office for making time to see me and for the assistance they provided.

Havening techniques and other techniques have helped me (someone who defaults to over-intellectualizing) get out of my head and into my body which I've found is imperative for healing emotional trauma. With all that said I'm really here to share my experience with the Neurofeedback training done with Rebecca Turner. Having done so much healing and reprocessing through talk therapy, I still felt that my thought patterns were like a hose turned all the way up, whipping around, unable to catch, and control, soaking everyone around me. The initial brain mapping (which is done first to know what areas of the brain to target for training) reflected with tangible data what I was experiencing inside. Ms. Turner described it to me like "your two hemispheres are yelling at each other" which turned out to be one of the most validating things my brain has ever heard about itself. The neurofeedback training process itself is not as complicated and/or intimidating as the name sounds. If one is doing eyes open training, you essentially attach some small sensors to your head using a conductive goop and watch a tv show while the screen brightens and dims in response to the information collected by the sensors and neurofeedback program. For "eyes closed" training, you listen to lyric-less music while the music adjusts the volume to help train your brain. And it all works. I feel good about myself. Shame is now a passing emotion instead of a state of being. Rumination is down ten-fold as my hemispheres aren't "yelling at each other". My thoughts and feelings don't control me as much and/or send my on a downward spiral. If you are someone who feels your emotions are often become too much for you to handle that even standard therapy couldn't alone help, might I suggest neurofeedback?

Give us your cash, don't ask questions, and you can have whatever pills you want…read more I honestly really liked Dr. Lai at first, but after only a few visits I realized that this office is basically glorified drug dealing for the privileged. The office is CASH ONLY because of bounced checks and fees for credit cards. Every other doctor I see takes credit cards, so they are clearly just being cheap and trying to take as much cash as they can. They charge an absurd amount of money per visit. First visit was $300 and then subsequent visits are $200. You would think they would put some effort into the office with their cash flow, but it's literally an empty office with a desk for the receptionist and one couch. And a bug zapper that goes off while you wait. It is totally empty and creepy. It looks like they could pick up at a moment's notice if they needed to... You can only see her if you get a referral too, making what they are doing even more apparent. The receptionist is obnoxious and racist. She rushes you off the phone and talks to you like you're an idiot. She referred to the recent civil unrest and protests as end times making a joke out of it while talking about her cop boyfriend. She also doesn't think covid is real and did not wear a mask either time I saw her. She misses going to the gym, that she made VERY clear. I honestly let this go because I was finally getting the medication I needed and I did like Dr. Lai. My breaking point: I was unable to make my appointment because I was feeling sick. I called day of to say I wasn't feeling better and wasn't sure if I should come in due to the pandemic. The receptionist threatened to charge me and said nothing about me feeling ill. Finally, Dr. Lai called back. We talked for a few minutes and I let her know everything was working properly. She said she would write a new prescription for me and to make an appointment when I needed it. Perfect! Or so I thought... I got a call a month and a half later from the receptionist saying, "you know your prescription has been sitting up here for over a month" in a very judgmental voice. I didn't know why a piece of paper was effecting her so much. I said I would make an appointment when I needed it, and she replied saying, "well then you are going to be charged $200 twice". That's when I realized Dr. Lai had counted those few minutes as an actual session. I said I was not going to pay for a visit that never happened and that no one told me a 2 minute call qualified as a $200 session. THEN the receptionist threatened to add the missed appointment fee back on!! Dr. Lai would not come to the phone and instead just said, "I made it very clear to her". What the fuck?! I guess she already got $500 from me so she was over it? Then the receptionist threatened to VOID out the prescription if I wasn't going to pay in cash for it. This is how they treat patients. Give us your cash, don't ask questions, and you can have whatever pills you want. I heard a few patients say they would just come in, pay cash, get their prescription, and leave without an actual visit. I called my real doctor and got the prescription I needed in no time. Lesson learned. I am learning more and more about doctors like this taking advantage of people who need things like opioids and controlled substances. Truly deplorable.
