Dr. Yang never forces a treatment and will work with you to find the best path to living your best life. Punctual and accessible, Dr. Yang ensures that the environment where you meet is calming and discrete. I especially appreciate that he allows for a dual session with my partner and values both of our inputs. I can not recommend Dr. Yang enough!

Yes, he has a great location, lots of parking ($5) and an office with impressive abstract paintings. What really sets him apart is THAT HE TRULY CARES AND CONSULTS WITH THE CLIENT 100%. Unlike my previous psychiatrists who would meet me for 15 minutes to glance at my chart and give me medication to try, Dr. Yang looked at everything, and I mean everything. He requested all past medical records to make a decision on which medications to suggest. He took into consideration my body's reactions to previous treatments and external factors. Had it not been for him I probably would not be alive. He met with me every two weeks for an hour, we would converse for 30 minutes, and go over medication and literature for the other half hour. He has completely honest about the pros and cons of each prescription, and if I was willing to try it. He never sugar coated anything, and I think that helped a lot. He also had a good idea on how my body would react, and he was always right. I am glad my friends helped me pay my initial consultation, and for Dr.Yang who did not turn me away but provided a payment plan for me after evaluation. Now I am enjoying my 30's and planning for the future. I did not think I would make it to see my 30th birthday before coming to Clarity Mental Health. This place goes beyond the call of duty for their patients. I always felt understood and respected on all levels. His office has a different entrance and exit for privacy and he never runs late, they answer all phone calls and I never had any problems with my pharmacy or paperwork. Extremely professional and trustworthy. Thanks to Dr.Yang, I am thriving and enjoying life today.

Unfortunately, I had previously been of the opinion that I didn't need professional help because I could work things out on my own as I was highly educated, well-travelled and I mistakenly had an exaggerated understanding of my ability to understand myself and my problems. Six years after the suicide attempt, I became very depressed and decided it was either find competent help, or I would be back on the road to suicide. Within a relatively short time, Dr. Miklusak helped me recognize that I had repressed memories about my abusive father and weak mother for over 60 years. If someone had told me that they had repressed such crucial and grave memories, I would have doubted his or her sincerity. The realization of these many childhood experiences and Dr. Miklusak's expert guidance have completely changed by outlook and attitude about the potential life has to offer me. Of course, my sessions with Dr. Miklusak are far more complicated than just recognition of repressed memories, but the main point is that Dr. Miklusak's very high competence level and interpersonal skills completely changed my life from a daily experience of deep sadness to now waking up almost every morning excited to live that day. The main reason I had not sought psychiatric help in the past is because I had very little faith in a psychiatrist genuinely being able to help me. Dr. Miklusak proved me completely wrong about that opinion.

Middle of the Road... 3.5 A more recent experience was…read moreunfortunately the same as usual. My biggest conundrum is why the front office staff continues to be employed when it's obviously causing people to turn away from treatment. Also, is anyone reading these? I'm tempted to suggest that my shrink take a look. I've been seeing a Dr. here for a few years now and since the beginning, I've always felt like an inconvenience to the staff. I think now I've figured out a way to get in & out with minimal damage The secret may just be "Kill 'Em with Kindness!". When I go in, the first words out of my mouth are some sort of compliment, and I put out an aura of subservience. I know, sounds crazy but what are we all here for in the first place?... I wholeheartedly and absolutely agree that no one needs to be aggressive with psychiatric patients (I mean, isn't that kind of dangerous?) but since my Dr. is A-1, I have to give 3.5 stars. If it were not for the staff in front, it would be 5. Is having a good doctor worth being yelled at because someone forgot to call in my prescription for 3 days? No. But.... I believe the staff has a hard job. Just because I don't lose my sh*t with them, doesn't mean no one does. They've probably had to deal with so many whack jobs over the years that they're just jaded. It's not an excuse to abuse the patients but I do somewhat understand where the attitude is coming from. Meanwhile, if there is a front desk admin or manager, and they are looking to make a difference by HELPING, maybe give some performance reviews or set some guidelines for appropriate behavior. -Just a suggestion =)

This review is regarding a new NO at this establishment: JULIANA SCHELLING NP…read more I typically don't bother writing a review unless it has been an extremely unpleasant experience. I have been a patient of this establishment for 15 years without any major complaints until today. My recommendation is: Do NOT MAKE AN APPT WITH: Juliana Schelling NP She is young and inexperienced but mostly PARANOID!!! IDK why she chose this profession because instead of empathy she is "fake nice" and actually suspicious and her judgment and intuition are worthless. I also think she's PREJUDICE (I'm not white) The worst part she has no qualms wasting your time ! After 2 visits a phone call a letter from my GP confirming my health (upon her request) she still refused to prescribe the medication I needed at the proper dosage because "she's new and she's being cautious" (her own words) I requested many times that she lay out her plan so I know how things will unfold, but she's dodgy and passive aggressive and she keeps avoiding giving any direct answers: everything is " I need time to evaluate and check with my supervisor ". I'm sorry that's not my problem. Today was the last straw! During the visit where she confirmed that she had everything she needed, she still wanted to "slow things" until I saw one more doctor and provided her with another confirmation of my health. Just for background: I am a very healthy (over 60) female who exercises regularly and is in very good health for my age, yet she's scared to prescribe the medication and "out of precaution" she still wanted me to provide yet more PROOF that I was healthy from yet another doctor. Why are YOU WASTING MY TIME LADY !!!

The voicemail said the Doctor was out of the office on the last few days of January, however my calls took place mid February. On the 3rd & final attempt about 2 weeks after the initial call, someone finally answered the phone. When I told the woman who answered that I wanted to set up an appointment with the Doctor for medication management she immediately asked what my insurance was. I stated Blueshield PPO. She asked me if it was through Covered California or LA Care. I stated Covered California. She immediately told me that the Doctor hasn't taken that insurance since January 2017. I asked if the doctor had a sliding scale and she told me that the first visit was $300 and that rash initial visit depending if it was 15min or 30min was $125-175 cash only. I rate this zero stars on customer service and zero stars on trying to offer help to someone who obviously needed some medical attention. If a person is calling seeking help & treatment... don't be rude. You could obviously be the last person that the ill were speaking to, and they could be in serious need, to the point that may have taken this call personally and have taken their own life. Be more considerate dear little miss phone answerer.
