After making a visit to Queen's with my family, we were starving for a late lunch. I suggested we…read morehead down Princess Street to find something. As we walked there, I checked on Yelp what would be a good place to go, and Gangnam Style popped up as number one. Having walked around a few blocks on Princess Street already, it was clearly the only restaurant that was packed. Between seeing how busy it was and the Yelp rating, I thought it was worth giving it a try. We walked in, and waited a couple of minutes for them to clear and clean a table for us. Nothing noteworthy about the look of this place, but it was clearly full and doing good business even at 4:00pm in the late afternoon. We ended up trying the following: - Cheese Grilled Teokbokki: Very good. Sometimes I find teokbokki drenched in sauce, but they go easy here, which was a nice. - Bulgogi Soup: Good. Tasted great and good portion size. - Boneless Korean Fried Chicken (Honey Butter): Good. We ordered a half size which is more than enough to share among a family of 4. Chicken was tender and skin maintained it's crisp. Honey Butter was good, but the chicken was drowning in it as there is so much sitting on the bottom of the basket. - Dolsot Bibimbap: Good. Sometimes the hot stone doesn't get hot enough to crisp the rice, but thankfully, it's done right here. Service was ok. It feels very much like a family business, so staff are friendly and polite enough, but their main focus is just keeping service running because they are so busy. Overall, a pleasant surprise. I'd definitely consider returning here next time I'm in Kingston. (For note, I walked up/down Princess Street the night after, and this place continued to be the busiest restaurant on the entire street)

We had just moved back to Fort Drum, NY from living in Korea for the last 3 years. Prior to Korea,…read morewe've gone to many Korean bbq in America and have had amazing experiences. This one was one of the most depressing experience I've had in my life. The kids were even sad First the grill. It's not the built into the table ones, so no air vents above to suck up the air. They bring the table side one to your table. Second, we had to complain twice about the weak flames/grill and that it was taking over 5 minutes to cook the paper thin beef slices. Kids were starving. Second, banchan. The side dishes. If you've been to any decent Korean restaurants, you know that the free side dishes are full of color and flavor. They only have us these sad dishes. The kimchi was fine, I just wanted some green onions, spinach, bean sprouts, something. Third... no steamed eggs! I don't think I've ever seen a Korean restaurant without Gyeran-jjim. That's one of our favorite side dishes, so that was disappointing. Fourth, garlic. We love getting thin slices of garlic to cook on the grill and eating it in our lettuce wrap. They claimed they didn't have any garlic. Odd. Location, off of the main road with plenty of parking. So that was good. The servers were kind, but had a tough time with the grill to work properly. We finally had one of the male servers to swap out the grill and the meat finally started sizzling. I think this place has great potential, but if it's a portable burner and barely any side dishes, I can easily do it at home. We love going out for kbbq for the full experience of endless banchan. Would've liked the tteokbokki to have some extras in there other than just the rice cake. Textbook 3 star it's just ok but a bit pricy.

Ordering is done via the QR Code on the table and menu consists of everything you would normally expect from Fried Chicken to GamJaTang to Bibimbap to a variety of soups and stews. One thing you don't get upon sitting is tea. Not sure if it's because the clientele is mostly students. Everyone gets a glass of cold water. Good choice of soju and other bottled drinks. What we ordered: Soon Tofu Stew with Pork - decent sized cubes of pork in a spicy tofu stew served with a side of rice Pork Katsu - served with a gravy on top of the katsu and side of rice and cabbage slaw Spicy Chicken - served with rice and a fried egg on top of the rice Flavours were good and portion sizes were okay. What was sad was the banchan we were served. Again not sure if it's the customer population but what we got was not spectacular in choice or flavour. I actually think it's gotten worse. Regardless this is a good place if you want a comforting Korean meal in a decent setting.

Unlike most Korean places, you need to ask for the side dishes (kimchi, potato salad and bean sprouts). Overall, one of our favourites! Half and half chicken: This is a mix of the Korean sauce fried chicken and Korean fried chicken. Perfect to share for groups where some people like spicy foods while others can't handle it. Dukbokki with ramen: This is a perfect spicy meal for a cold day! Good to share between 2 people. Rice cakes: This is made with the same sauce as the Korean sauce fried chicken. Highly recommend this appetizer! Kanpoong Chicken (large): We weren't quite sure what this was based on the name, but it was very good! It was a nice blend of sweet and savoury and goes well with white rice. **Follow @smfoodd on Instagram for more reviews!!

I've tried a variety of different options on the menu - from lunch boxes to specialty rolls and even desserts (this is where my green tea mochi obsession started!), and I have never been disappointed! My absolute favourite thing is the Plant Power poke bowl, it's so filling and I crave it every other day. The service is also always friendly and quick which is much appreciated. The restaurant itself is rather small and the tables are very close together (a little too close for my liking), and if you are ordering takeout you could be waiting on the phone line for a little while. These two things would normally make me take off one star, but I love the food and service here so much that it still deserves 5 stars in my eyes!
