I really appreciate the app, which allows parents to receive updates, pictures, and messages about their child's day. It helps me feel more connected to my children and reassured while I'm away from them. I also appreciate the fun events and age-appropriate curriculum Kindercare provides. Unfortunately, my experience at the Chambers Street location in Eugene has been very different from what I believe Kindercare is capable of providing. In my opinion, this location needs significant changes in staffing, leadership, and the way certain situations involving children and parents are handled. My biggest concern has been the leadership. I have had several experiences with the director, Naz, that have left me feeling that communication and professionalism are inconsistent, and that she can be unprofessional and unpleasant in her interactions. I have also personally witnessed interactions that concerned me regarding how children are spoken to and treated, particularly when parents are not immediately present. I have heard similar concerns from other children, although I recognize that children's accounts should be taken seriously but also carefully evaluated. I have also experienced repeated situations where I was asked to pick up my child because of staffing or classroom-capacity issues. This has happened often enough that it has caused problems with my employment and made reliable childcare extremely difficult. Parents should be able to have confidence that their childcare arrangements will remain dependable unless there is a legitimate emergency or safety concern. Another issue I have noticed is inconsistency in how children are disciplined. There have been situations where children appeared to receive different consequences for similar behavior, which can feel unfair and confusing to both children and parents. I have also seen children being sent to sit in the director's office as a form of discipline. I believe the center should review whether its disciplinary practices are age-appropriate, consistent, and focused on helping children learn and regulate their behavior. I want to emphasize that many of the teachers and staff members are genuinely wonderful. My concern is not that everyone working there is doing a poor job. In fact, I believe many employees are doing their best in a difficult environment. The larger issue appears to be staffing levels and the amount of attention each child can realistically receive. In the older children's classrooms, I have seen children attempt to get an adult's attention when they are being bullied or picked on and not receive timely attention. In the infant and toddler rooms, I have also witnessed situations where multiple children were crying for extended periods while staff appeared overwhelmed and unable to respond to everyone. I have seen babies wanting to be held or comforted and toddlers needing attention or diaper changes while staff were occupied with other children. I understand that childcare can be extremely demanding and that staff members cannot immediately respond to every child every second. However, when an entire classroom appears overwhelmed, I believe that is a staffing and management issue that needs to be addressed. I truly believe Kindercare has the potential to provide excellent childcare, and many of the employees at this location clearly care about the children. However, the Chambers Street location needs meaningful changes. I would strongly encourage Kindercare management to review staffing ratios, classroom supervision, disciplinary practices, parent communication, and the leadership at this location. Most importantly, parents need to feel confident that their children are safe, heard, cared for, and treated fairly when they are not there to advocate for them. That should be the highest priority of any childcare center.

The middle school has a non-cut volleyball, basketball, and track team. My kids switched from a local public school due to bullying. While not perfect, the academics are much more rigorous, and bullying is much, much less than at the public school we came from. The school staff knows my kids' names, teachers care if my kids are absent, and help them keep track of missing work. My kids get personal attention and don't get lost in the shuffle since it is a smaller school.

Aside from my own intuition to not enroll him, I went ahead. Days-prior, we experienced a COVID scare and I disenrolled him. Upon resurgence of COVID (and upon my son's request), I disenrolled him after giving it a few days. We received a total of less than one week of instruction for $750. Tell me if you think this sounds ethical. Not only have other parents discussed similar issues with this school, but staff has as well. I would not recommend this school for anyone interested in a true Montessori school interested in community and consistent with policy.

They were very supportive of her independence and strength. I spent most of my days hearing, "No momma, I do it!" They allowed her to thrive and build on the confidence within herself. She was able to work without being interrupted which allowed her to concentrate for long periods of time on any task that was put in front of her. I have never been treated so badly by a teacher in my life... there is no excuse for Sara the director of this location to have treated me like that. In short, it was just this 5th street location that I had these issues with, and it ALL stemmed from April Kays biased opinions being unprofessionally gossiped to Sara the director, which influenced her reactions and decisions in this matter... even worse is that I called Carla the director about these transgressions and she did absolutely nothing about it, stating that she didn't think her teachers were sharing personal info about parents between each other and that in NO way effected Sara's reaction.... it's no coincidence that before being moved to this location where April Kay works, there wasn't ANY problems with me, in fact I took time and money out of my pocket to volunteer at their 10th street location to upgrade the play pits with more pea gravel. I thought Carla would be a smarter and a more compassionate owner, she has proved to me that she is not willing to address this in a way that questions her employees personal and social ties outside of the workplace and how that might effect the decision making process. I will be trying my hardest to get my son out of her schools, I would NOT recommend these schools to Anyone, your kids deserve way better than her "schools" offer.
