Bad neighborhood, inside falling apart. Two stars instead of none, only for great service from Terese, and friendliness of regulars.

Great place to catch the game and have so unbelievably delicious nachos!…read more We saw the description of the nachos and had to try them. They were AMAZING! I wish this place was close to us so I could order them for every game. They are a MUST try.

New menu with a variety of skillets and other items, I try the southwest skillet with steak, peppers, cheese, avocado and jalapeño. This skillet has potential, presentation and flavors were good, will really improve once the kitchen staff is trained on what a jalapeño is, how to cook it, and what proper portion sizing is. Came out looking great, half an avocado on top made nice presentation. Each of the first few bites had jalapeño in it, that's more than I might find in an entire meal ... so I started counting. Each of my first 20 bites had jalapeño, an amount that for most would have made the rest of the meal inedible and left them pleading for buckets of water. As an experiment, I went through looking for more, and I pulled out more than a full jalapeño from the rest of the meal. The fact some slices were charred and some raw says one thing about poor execution, but the fact a breakfast skillet was served with close to two whole jalapeño in it means the cooking staff does not know what to do with this. Manager was very appreciative of the comment, waitress said a person the night before had the jalapeño cornbread and went through 3 glasses of water to survive. I have had bad luck with this place before, but the manager and staff really seemed to be working hard today, will give it another try this week and hope to be able to get this up to a 3-star. Previous review - Had not been back here in a year, bad customer service experience that time so I stayed away until now. Well, different year and I can't qualify the experience as bad, since I never interacted with anyone. I was seated by myself, then four more seated in the same area in the next 10 minutes. 1 waiter and 1 waitress for 5 tables, very manageable. In the next 10 minutes the waiter made it to 2 tables, the waitress 1, my table and one other ignored. I waited 20 minutes with no service of any kind so I left, the other table that was ignored left as well. I walked over to Burger brothers in the casino only to find they were closed, so I went to the buffet and they were closed also at 6pm on a Monday. Three tries to eat dinner, three strikes, a 1-star because I can't do zero.

Dick's R U Crazy is the lone successor to a Calumet region Gay scene that once boasted five (5)…read moreflourishing and active Gay bars of which one was exclusively for Lesbians. Unfortunately, Calumet City succumbed to a sad combination of white flight and city officials Hell bent on destroying the State and Stateline entertainment corridor, leveling solid historic properties into a barren surface level wasteland, that remains void to this very day. We were once guided by the bright neon signs and chasing lights, like a mini-Las Vegas strip it was. God forbid someone was drinking, carrying on, staying out until past 4 a.m. and having a Gay ole time. So here we are at Dick's R U Crazy, this lone Gay venue has been established in 1990 and serves as a beacon of life for area Gays. It offers a traditional Gay bar feel from back in the day with two (2) chalk dusty pool tables and an eclectic variety of your usual patrons. A corridor leads past the restrooms on the right that opens up into a lounge area with intimately lit tables, a stage and runway avec drag drapes. However, classic Drag shows and those once crowned as bar royalty, drag queens, have been replaced in a new world favoring karaoke. Ugh! You cannot miss what you do not know. In my opinion, today's bar music or what I heard at Dick's was a bore. It's choppy and doesn't flow one song to the next. Who wants to hear and see Seth Meyers bash Trump on Big TV screens on a Friday night in your bar? A total waste of fun time! There must be something far more entertaining and uplighting to fill in the background with to get people up and dancing. Dancing!!? What the F..k is that? One might ask! Dick's R U Crazy is a Gay oasis in a desolate desert environment that doesn't offer many better options short of going into Boystown/Chicago . Hopefully one day the Calumet Region Gay scene will rebound. Dick's R U Crazy is a continuing work in progress.

No problem but why did I have to go ask after waiting 15 min for a drink when the place had about 11 people in it? Also, we went for drinks/food before a show at the Hard Rock (20 min away) after it was highly recommended by people doing the same as us- stopping before a show. We really wanted the cheese curds. Maybe a burger but none if it was available for some reason or another. Could you update your website? The website indicated none of this which would've been extremely helpful. We were hungry and wanted a cocktail!! Otherwise, I'd given all 5 because it is a cool place and friendly. Our waiter was great.

We got out and saw the sign on the door at the old building that they moved. So glad we got out the car and saw the new address and we went to check it out! We LOVED THE VIBE! Reminds me of downtown Las Vegas where I used to live. It's a cool spot! The staff, Michelle and Greg were so awesome! We enjoyed hearing some downtown Hammond history. The smash burger? OMG! The best I've had since I've moved to the Midwest! It was cooked right on the grill! Fresh! Hubby had the Caesar wrap and it was delicious! We so enjoyed the space, our time and the conversation! Can't wait to return!
