Well, there is much more to Pines Tap than old union workers, my friend. This place has the BEST daily dinner specials. Me, I'm partial to the Friday night fish fry, where you can choose from fresh lake perch, cod, frog legs, shrimp, or walleye for somewhere around $7. It's a steal considering how much food you get. And this fish is GOOD! The lake perch is some of the best I've had around---and I'm saying this after having Phil Smidt's and Teibel's and some of the other infamous perch houses of the region. It almost tastes like they took fresh lake perch--only hours old---and fried it in a Long John Silver's-type batter. The result is a crispy outside and a decadent, tasty cut of fish on the inside. If you order it with fries, you'll find this side to be just as tasty as the fish. And don't expect a hole in the wall, even thought Pines Tap isn't in the greatest location of Hammond. It is very well kept up, with a handsome decor in solid wood. The regulars can tend to be a little grizzly looking, though.

The South Shore Railroad station on Ridge Road is under construction; once the rail line is operating and traubs stopping at this location it would provide an option of accessing TATC fairly easily, but it would be a fairly long walk to the theatre, less than a mile. I do not know whether the City of Munster or TATC plan to provide a shuttle bus for the businesses along Ridge Road.

We came to experience a tribute to John Denver. As you enter the theater you will find a theater almost in the round. Every seat is a good seat. The sound was fantastic. The matinee was packed. I looked at the schedule and they offer quite a selection depending on your taste. You can eat lunch there if you make reservations. You will also find an art gallery, gift shop and another setting we did not see. The center is on the former site of Lanier School and the old library. What a great location near the highway and Illinois. The week before they hosted Munster's Got Talent. Take a day to explore the location. Visit Three Floyd's and stay overnight. I understand that very soon you will be able to take South Shore and leave the car behind.

The tv and lights were in but no one in sight. We called, there was no answer. More people started coming, they finally opened the doors around 5:30ish. We had to go through a TSA security style pat down, id check, and purse search. At this point I'm wondering what clientele are they used to where a patron has to be subjected to such a violation. All we wanted were some drinks and appetizers. Once we get passed security check, there was no hostess to tell us where to go since ALL the seats were marked "Reserved" so we go to the upstairs bar, same thing ALL the seats were "Reserved". Now our frustration is beginning to turn into a " oh hell naw" moment. We ask the bartender who was a lovely lady what's the protocol. She said all seating was bottle service only and everyone else had to stand up. We asked how much, she didn't know. Someone finally came back and said... drumroll... $600-$700 a bottle. Get the heck out of here with that b.s.!!! Why on earth would anyone who's not a drug dealer pay $600/$700 a bottle for a something that retails $35. I try so hard to support black owned businesses but crap like this is why I take my business out of the community. Poor customer service, false advertising, unorganized, and bad attitudes. I understand the pandemic has the restaurant business cash strapped but to take advantage of patrons with some fake bougee crap is a stretch. We ended up at Bourbon St in Marionette Park where we paid $80 for a 5 drinks and 4 appetizers. I really wanted to give my people my money but after that poor PR stunt me and my friends won't be going back ever.

I've never been but I'm always looking for a new spot to try. Seemed like a pretty chill spot in Harvey. However, upon arrival on October 30th 2020 at approximately 9:45pm I went to turn into the parking lot but was immediately stopped buy the dude patrolling the lot. "Keep Moving, nigga I don't know you" He shouted. I was shocked and so was the person I was dropping off at his rude behavior. I then said I'm sorry first time here, I just want to know where can I drop off since you're blocking me from the parking lot. He again said I don't know you, you should've said that..but he still didn't let me in to drop off. So the young lady had to get out of the car at the curb and walk across the parking lot to enter. I then said.. you know I've never been here..but after that experience I told him I never will.. she said I would go back home if I wasn't meeting friends here. I come in contact with over 100 travelers a week. I love recommending nice places. Well, this won't be one of them. To top it off, when I said I wouldn't go because of his behavior..He said good. Mind you, I've never been here nor have I ever met this over zealous parking lot guy. Well he just cost you a potential customer not to mention I'll never recommend this place to anyone. Good experience people tell a few friends...bad experience people tell hundreds. Yall may wanna teach yo parking lot solider about how to teach those coming to spend money there. I dunno if he was just having a bad day, piss off about being outside in the cold or what. But with Harvey being a struggling village, this guy isn't helping the situation. I wouldn't go to this establishment...if I could give it no stars I would.
