(We've been getting a steady stream of compliments about the new sidewalk from passersby.) But what really made this company stand out was the people. Every one of the team members was genuine, thoughtful, kind, and friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed meeting them, and learning about each other. After they finished the job, we asked them if they might be willing to move a giant pile of sod that had been sitting in our back yard for two years. They came back out with the same great attitude, did the job at a fair price, and cleaned up the work site afterwards. We couldn't be happier. We hired Allison Concrete to build a retaining wall behind our barn in 2022. It was next to impossible to get a company out to our property at that time to build the wall, with different companies giving me a variety of excuses. And, then, I called Allison Concrete. Sergio came out and gave me a very reasonable bid and started the work in a timely fashion. We didn't have to wait 3 - 6 months as was the case with more than one company. This year, we had an immediate, and very urgent need, to have a rock retaining wall built due to a failure in the fall by another company. We, again, thought of Allison Concrete in hopes that they could correct the failed wall and my wife's broken heart! Sergio came out "same day" to assess the disaster and see if he could remedy the situation out front. We received Sergio's extremely reasonable bid within 48 hours and quickly hired him to get the job done. Much to our surprise, Sergio put us on his schedule the following week. Within 2 days, Sergio and a helper created the most beautiful wall to the point that we could hardly remember the muddy disaster that we had to look at all winter through our kitchen window!! Correcting the failed wall and building a new wall was a big job and took a large backhoe as well as artistic skills to construct, as some of the large rocks/boulders weighed about 2000 pounds. We are looking at hiring Allison Construction for another job that just came up; concrete footings for a gazebo that will be built above our hot tub. Not only is Sergio the epitome of a true professional, he has a heart of gold and has a sincere desire to see his customers satisfied and happy! My wife is extremely happy with her new retaining wall! Sergio is always on time, cleans up his work space at the end of each day and works hard with no breaks that we saw! Their bid was in the low-mid of other bids, but they got us scheduled in reasonably quickly (considering permits, etc). My only recommendation is to be a good communicator as the client - stay in touch, and let them know what you want. They are very responsive and do great work. They also are good at adapting -- whether it be local permitting, or the weather -- they can adjust and figure out a way to move forward.

I went with Xcelent concrete because the rep (Varun) told me during our estimate meeting that there Company is not the cheapest and not the most expensive but they will not let customers hanging and they have top notch service. I believe him at the time, and I've contracted services from Xcelent concrete for building a walkway from side of my home to my backyard, even though the company bid was $1000 more expensive than other quotes that I received for the project. Previously my walkway was a gravel and other the years the gravel washed away and got mixed with dirt underneath requiring constant weeding. So, I though to just replace it with concrete. When I first contacted Xcelent concrete for estimate and signing the bid, they were super responsive, emailing me even at 9pm at night to respond to my emails. However, after the contract was agreed upon and project started, it was nearly impossible to get hold of Varun. Tried calling the number provided at least 5 ~ 6 times, never got through a call. I would leave email, which will only get responded after few emails. The worst part was failing to keep certain plan promises. After the dig and concrete poring which happened in the same day (which was great), the crew was supposed to show up the next day for removal of the wood frames, The crew did not show up the next day, I've tried calling the rep but all the calls did not go through. I was able to reach the company over email, the rep apologized for being out of town and not reachable and confirmed the crew will be at my home the next day (3rd day of the project). The on the day the crew was supposed to be, also did not come. Basically left me hanging for two days. Tried calling again without success, and finally was able to make contact through email, and got a phone call directly from the crew telling me they will let me know in about 20 min on whether the crew will be able to make it to my home or not. I waited for an hour, before I tried reaching out, which I finally got through only to know that the crew is not coming and had to reschedule for another day. The 3rd attempt for removal of the wood frames, one crew came by to remove the frames, everything else looked ok, but the crew forgot to remove two small wood pieces. I tried removing me myself but it really stuck. I left a email to rep asking for the crew to come by to remove the remaining wood frames, but no responses since. -- Edited: Xcelent concrete reached out to me 2 weeks after my last correspondence (and after they seen my review posted) to get the last wood frame pieces out. -- I blame only myself since I had already paid them in full. After the company had received all of my payments, basically ignored my requests. Overall, the concrete services itself was ok. However, I don't I believe I received the customer handling service that was marketed. The rep was only extremely responsible until the project got started and they received the initial payment. After that basically the company leave you hanging on the dry. Not sure if the overall services received was the worth the extra $1000 that I paid for.

I waited a few days and then contacted him. "Oh - family emergency, we will start next week." Next week comes by and still no one comes. I wait a few days again and contact him again. "Oh - I injured my foot - next week for sure." I wait for the next week and again no one shows up. I wait a few days and contact him. "Oh - my foot is still injured - but next week for sure." Guess what - he did not show up the next week and then just stopped responding to my texts. I understand that delays come up but why is it my responsibility to have to repeatedly contact him when no one shows up on the scheduled date again and again? If something comes up, LET ME KNOW! And if you don't want to do it, LET ME KNOW! After a month of having my texts ignored, we gave up on him and contracted with the city to do the repair.
