After she was buried I received a phone call and all the lady said was "It's done" and hung up the phone. It was very cold and like a slap in the face. I checked with several other funeral homes and found out we were overcharged by $2000 to $3000 and we could have seen our loved one in the casket which is called identifying your loved one and been at the cemetery with NO extra charge. This experience has added to our grief tremendously and provided no comfort. I have contacted them about these issues and they have been unwilling to resolve this and make any adjustments. We thought we had to use them because plot was in their town and had not buried anyone before. If we had known we had other choices then we would have chosen someone different. Steer clear of this funeral home. You can choose anyone you want and there are alot more compassionate places with fair pricing.

Lord & Stephens is required to send the death certificate notice to the Social Security office. They did not. I spoke to Jason Wommack, the funeral director who lied and said they did. The Social Security office said they did not. Jason Wommack does not take accountability and responsibility. They seem more interested in profits than actually doing their job. He came out to talk to my family when we were picking out the service for my father. He was just plain weird. He asked a lot of questions and dragged this out. He got defensive when my sister said something he didn't like. We ordered an urn that was similar to my late brother's and were told it was being sent from another location in the area. He said he would call us the next day so we could see it to make sure we liked it. The call didn't come until days later on the morning of the service, that the urn was not there. We would have had time to go to other funeral homes and purchase one if we had been told earlier. There was plenty of time. We could have ordered one on the internet and gotten it there in time. Greg Meadows offered $100 off like it was a late pizza delivery. They wanted to put an empty urn up there for people to pretend to say goodbye too. I was so mad I had to let my brother-in-law talk to them. A young man named Heath actually understood the situation and made it better. He GAVE us an urn that turned out to be quite nice. In the end everything was okay. Only because of the young man named Heath, who was apologetic and sympathetic. Also Greg Meadow's brother was there on the day of my dad's service and he just stared at us creepily. You've been warned.
