After searching on line in an attempt to have things prepared for my Mother who was in Hospice care I only became more uneasy once I started the process of finding a place I could trust. Websites can be so misleading in so many ventures and this proved to be no different. There was however something that put the Georgia Cremation site at the top of the list. Maybe it was all the reviews from people who were in similar situations and had nothing but positive things to say. Or maybe it was the simplicity and upfront way the pricing and services were laid out. Then sometimes it's just a gut feeling one gets and so I picked up the phone to start my journey into this very difficult circumstance to arrange due to the emotional nature of it all. I was greeted on the phone after two rings (which that in and of itself is rare these days). Jennifer answered and she listened carefully and respectfully as I awkwardly tried to explain my request and my concerns. Jennifer then proceeded to guide me through everything that would take place and the costs that would be incurred from A to Z with clarity, calm, warmth, and extreme professionalism. I knew my search was over and I made the arrangements that day. Weeks later when my mother passed on of course my world was spinning with all my feelings and things that had to be done. Several months ago, my friend's father became gravely ill, and I helped the family plan the funeral. We had no experience dealing with funeral arrangements, especially for cremation. I found Georgia Cremation based on good reviews on the internet. Also, they offer several different 'no frill' packages with the price published on their website. They are very affordable. My friend's father passed away last week and has since been cremated with the help of Georgia Cremation. The family is very grateful for all their help and service. From planning to cremation, we had gone or called the office many times. The staff was professional, knowledgeable, and very patient with us. They explained everything very clearly. At the time the family had to choose one of the cremation packages/urns, the staff never gave us any pressure. My Mom passed away rather unexpectedly. To my surprise she had no life insurance or any funds set aside for those expenses. I'm a widowed mother of two teenagers and I found myself in quite a bind. From my first call to ask "so now what?" to the lovely obituary and the very special touches my father was given as an Army veteran. I would recommend Georgia Cremation a million times over! Like many of us, I was caught off guard by an unexpected death in the family and as we live in California had no clue what to do. Enter Alex at Ga Cremations. Uber professional and took us thru the entire process efficiently, while guiding us thru what to expect at every point along the way. We literally did not have to do one thing; alex coordinated EVERYTHING on all fronts ( interfacing with the coroner, the death certificates and the cemetery and even 'held' the remains until they were ready to be received by the funeral home) all the while keeping us updated at every step of the way. I am back in new York and I have to say that Georgia Cremation in Duluth gave me a wonderful experience at such a sad time. Lara took the time to actually ask about my mother, what she did and her experience in life. Lara was so pleasant and open I really can not express how lovely it was dealing with her. Everything went smooth as glass from the initial contact, picking up my mothers body and the cremation process. My brother and I chose to be there as our mom was placed in the crematorium. Reading all the reviews, it seemed too good to be true, but Georgia Cremation was truly fantastic. They responded immediately (on a weekend), provided professional and thorough service, and were so kind and helpful. They took care of all sorts of details (ordering death certificates and remitting to social security) beyond just cremation and explained the process clearly. It is a little unnerving to turn over your loved one to someone you don't know well; however, my family member was in great caring, capable hands with Georgia Cremation, and that was a huge load off during a time of grieving. Sadly, this was our second need of the services of Georgia Cremation in a six month period. The entire staff is caring and kind during such a difficult time. When the rest of the "funeral industry" appears to take advantage of people during their saddest moments, the folks at Georgia Cremation ensure all the steps necessary are handled with utmost respect and attention to detail.
