Bryan at Leaf Cremations was patient, available on the weekend and extremely important in managing the neccessary arrangements, including contacting the state of Georgia to file for a death certifcate. But I do feel that it's important to share our experience, since it was helpful when we looked into a cremation service. They were recommended by our hospice nurse, and I must say they were phenomenal throughout the entire process. This is a very difficult time, but everyone at Leaf Cremation was very caring, thoughtful and professional. Brookle was our main contact and she stayed in constant contact with us. She answers any questions very quickly and explain the process to us. We went to see our son one last time before the actual cremation took place and we found the place to be peaceful and calming. After seeing him, we walked thru the cemetery next to their location, and it was also a very serene and tranquil walk. Leaf Cremation also has many options for urns, jewelry, keepsakes, etc for your loved one ashes if you wish. If you looking for a cremation service in the ATL metro, we cannot recommend Leaf Cremation enough

Poole Funeral Home will always hold a special place in my heart…read more Two weeks into a brand new relationship, my world was suddenly turned upside down when my partner's father passed away unexpectedly. It was heartbreaking--not just because of the loss, but because it brought back painful memories of when his mother passed from breast cancer just four years earlier. Poole Funeral Home had been the one to help him through that difficult time as well, so returning there now--without his father to guide the way--was deeply emotional and overwhelming. But from the moment we stepped through their doors, Poole embraced us like family. We had no idea what we were doing--how many programs to order, what steps to take--but Brian walked us through every single detail with patience, compassion, and clarity. In a time where grief was raw and decisions felt impossible, he gently led us forward without ever making us feel rushed or unsure. Now that I work in the senior care space myself, I've come to admire Poole Funeral Home even more--not just for how they cared for us personally, but for how they serve our entire community. I've learned they offer services at no cost to families experiencing the loss of a child--a quiet act of kindness that speaks volumes about their heart and mission. I cannot recommend them more highly. In moments of unimaginable grief, Poole Funeral Home shows up with grace, respect, and humanity. I will forever be grateful And since 5/20 was the 1 year date of loss and Father's Day just around the corner it only felt right to stop in and drop small gifts of appreciation - THANK YOU!!!

That made it comfortable for us visitors, specially during Corona we did not have to be too close to anyone. Also I liked the way family photos were projected on a TV screen. My Dad and I went here when my Mom passed away because it was the closest funeral home and you don't have time for research when these things happen. I typed up an obituary for my Mom. Somehow after Winkenhofer got hold of it, it was filled punctuation errors and typos. I checked my original to make sure I hadn't made mistakes, but no, my original was fine. I re-typed it for them in the office. The version that showed up in my parents' hometown newspaper still had the typos, though, and the guest book also had typing and spelling errors. We had to ask for those pages to be corrected and reprinted. Visitation begins, and someone asks if my parents "had the same last name?" I look at the funeral program, and they've printed my Mom's maiden name as being the same as my Dad's last name, as though they were cousins! Fortunately they were able to correct that and reprint these in the back before more people showed up. (Despite the price you're paying, these are not printed on a press, but on a regular desktop printer.) Unfortunately, less than a year later my Dad passed. Despite my previous experience I went with Winkenhofer-Pine Ridge again because, as I say, you don't have time for shopping around at these times, and at least I knew their process. My Dad had requested John Lennon's "Imagine" to be played at his funeral. This was about $350 extra, even though I knew all they did was set up a boom box behind a bouquet. We get to the funeral home, another Dignity franchise in my parents' hometown...and Winkenhofer forgot to bring the boom box. The home loaned them another one, and it wouldn't recognize the CD. So much for one of my Dad's final requests. Lastly, Winkenhofer-Pine Ridge issued the death certificate, and they marked my Dad as a non-high school graduate. He DID graduate! He would NOT have wanted to go down in history as a dropout! I insisted this be changed. The woman agreed to do it, but said, "No one is going to look at this." How about I'M going to look at it, the guy paying over $10,000?! As stated at the beginning, this was several years ago, so hopefully they've gotten better, or my experiences were an anomaly. They had TWO chances to get it right, though. I never got around to filling out the J.D. Powers survey I got years ago, so I'm glad I can write this.

The first time was for my father, and his wife made all of the arrangements. I was involved primarily as support. It was a nightmare. The funeral home tried every trick in the book to upsell her services, flower arrangements, and caskets/urns. When my mother passed away a few weeks ago, I was referred to Salmon Funeral Home. I called and then went in person, dealing primarily with Kyle Kiser. The whole experience, from beginning to end, was phenomenal. Kyle walked my sister and me through the entire process and explained all of the fees, necessary services, and what to expect, down to the filing of the insurance policy. He was "Johnny on the Spot" the entire time and never missed a beat in keeping us informed. He never once tried to upsell any service or offering and was completely transparent from beginning to end. I highly recommend their services to anyone having to deal with the death of a loved one. They were excellent!!!
