They were prompt with our inquiry and listed everything out needed in detail. Literally a one stop shop. We were able to select a casket, flowers for casket, set up for the rituals; they also have urns and processes death certificates. The room we used had a breakroom, coffee makers, anything we needed. Plenty of seating were provided. We're glad we went with Wages. Everything was handled with great care.

When I expressed concern, his tone felt like the conversation was a waste of time. I was going to ask about burial options, but the overall experience completely turned me off from using them. My mother and I were close, such as I could call her at 1:00 in the morning because I knew she'd be awake close. But she was beloved by many, not just me. My father adored her and knew he would be devastated. He was. He had always dreaded the funeral home experience because he was convinced he would have to fight to spend all the time he could with her on the days before the funeral. He just knew they would have certain times to visit. He knew he would want to spend every waking moment beside her holding her hand saying good bye. Just out of familiarity we went to Wheeler Funeral Home on Brown Bridge road. There we met a man who had found his calling in life. He was a funeral director that truly loves people and his chosen profession. Brad Bailey was the sweet, kind angel that, for us, was sent to guide us through the shock of losing the matriarch of our family. Saying that he was kind and caring and understanding just do not do his actions justice. Brad was beyond any words to describe his loving kindness over the next four days. He actually continues that same help even now as we are getting the markers and special arrangement for the cemetery plots. Brad welcomed my dad each morning at 8:00 as he knew my dad would be there all day until closing. Brad constantly checked in with him during the day. He made sure he had food or drink or was comfortable. My dad set every day all day holding my mothers hand with love and the support of Brad and the entire staff. Everyone was so kind! On Wednesday the day of the viewing that night, Brad came in early and cooked a beautiful breakfast because he was worried my dad was not eating enough. As my dad and I and the the rest of the staff sat and ate breakfast, I knew that this was a business of love and understanding. Under quarantine rules no funeral could have more than 10 visitors. My mom had a church and local community of people that loved her. They all wanted to say goodbye. So Brad was inspired to have my mom placed at the door leading to the carport where the hearse usually parks. We draped my mother with one of her famous quilts and for over 2 hours non-stop cars drove by. All her and my dad's friends from 65 years of marriage were able to come by and speak to my dad and say goodbye to my mom. Meanwhile Brad directed traffic and a sweet staff member Gloria Jean wrote down the names of every car load of people. What was a disaster because of the quarantine became a beautiful evening of tribute to my mother. There so much more that Brad did above and beyond the required. He is a special man, as well as, the great staff at Wheeler Funeral Home. This is where you want to take your loved ones to say good bye.

He came out to talk to my family when we were picking out the service for my father. He was just plain weird. He asked a lot of questions and dragged this out. He got defensive when my sister said something he didn't like. We ordered an urn that was similar to my late brother's and were told it was being sent from another location in the area. He said he would call us the next day so we could see it to make sure we liked it. The call didn't come until days later on the morning of the service, that the urn was not there. We would have had time to go to other funeral homes and purchase one if we had been told earlier. There was plenty of time. We could have ordered one on the internet and gotten it there in time. Greg Meadows offered $100 off like it was a late pizza delivery. They wanted to put an empty urn up there for people to pretend to say goodbye too. I was so mad I had to let my brother-in-law talk to them. A young man named Heath actually understood the situation and made it better. He GAVE us an urn that turned out to be quite nice. In the end everything was okay. Only because of the young man named Heath, who was apologetic and sympathetic. Also Greg Meadow's brother was there on the day of my dad's service and he just stared at us creepily. You've been warned.

If I could leave no stars I would! My grandmother passed away in July of this year. We were told…read moreuntil they found out otherwise, the POA would make the decisions concerning my grandmother. That person is not even related to my family. They also said a "guardianship was granted over my grandmother" My grandmother had Alzheimer's. She didn't even know who I was at the end. The family was never officially notified of the guardianship and when I contacted the courts, they could not find anything as well. On my grandmother's death certificate, it says "Fiduciary-POA". No special anything to justify their actions. Just POA which ends with death. My Aunt the daughter to my grandmother had no say in what happened to her mother when they cremated her. We also had to pay for a death certificate but the lady with the "POA" was given them. I mentioned to Carrie at the funeral home that this other lady was not related to us and this was legal paperwork they were handing out and they still did and gave me the run around. I have documentation and witnesses to this all as well. I would NEVER recommend this place. They are VERY unprofessional! If you care about a loved one stay away from this place and beware!
