They do not sell clothing - just an FYI for people that have never been here before. I bought some adorable kitchen wares. If I lived locally, probably would have purchased a dining room table. The managers had introduced themselves while we were visiting and told us all about the organization. They build affordable housing for those in need. I felt so great supporting an organization that did such great deeds. They had shopping carts and disinfecting cloths and hand sanitizer that you can use to shop safely. Just don't forget your mask! This Non-Profit helps dogs that are chained up, by giving them a spacious enclosure and getting them "off the chain". They are non-judgmental with the owners, only looking to better the welfare of the dogs. They have a FB volunteer page where you can sign up to assist with the builds. All their build supplies come from donations or from buying their shirts/hats. The build staff is wonderful, and you don't need to know anything about putting up fences to help jump in. Most builds take about 1-2 hours and are closer to the Athens area of town. Each build consists of making a spacious fenced-in enclosure, with one area designated for sleeping (it also has a canopy for when it rains and area for shade). A water bucket is provided, igloo home, dog cot, food and toys for the doggie. I had the opportunity to do 2 builds thus far and volunteer helping run a table at a one of their events. You get the hang of it after one build, and you meet some wonderful people in the process. Also, the dogs seem so much happier once they get into their area and can run around freely. If you're looking for a way to give back and love dogs, this is the perfect opportunity! Most builds happen 1-2 times per month, and typically 9am-12pm Saturday or Sunday AM. Centrally located in South Augusta, this facility is amazing. From the moment you arrive, the team is welcoming and smiling and making you feel like this is a family reunion and suddenly you are now a member. From the exterior it may appear to be nothing of worth, but trust me it is a treasure chest filled with benevolence. There is a weekly grocery pickup service, meals provided, food bank, clothing bank, community services mediation, and more. The facility is two stories and a basketball court-sized gym area. The team is collaborative in focus, which is what brought about my involvement with them, and always seeking to come alongside their neighbors.
