We had been working with three other long distant funeral homes in trying to make arrangements - almost impossible to get them to commit to costs and logistics. I spent hours on the phones with them and although they all came well recommended (one of whom even handled my father's funeral) none of them could hold a candle to Curlew Hills. They were beyond professional, patient and extremely supportive. Every single detail was reviewed and confirmed. It's just so personal at least for us. They left nothing to chance, were responsive to our questions, calls and emails. We decided to abandon the long distant arrangements based on the level of care Curlew extended to us. It wasn't routine. It wasn't just another client. It meant something! Our religious traditions were respected. We were speechless because for an entire month we had been dealing with funeral homes - where it meant nothing at all to them. We were frequent visitors to Curlew Hills for the yearly 911 memorial and we will remain with them FOREVER! I recommend them without the slightest hesitation, because they came through for us in going beyond the call of duty. They were so gentle with my mum - everyone at church commented on how professional Curlew orchestrated my mothers funeral. We received so many praises on their professionalism. Thank you so very much for making this very difficult time in our lives so much more easier to cope.

Worse experience ever!!! They do not even deserve one star!!!…read more These people are liars, heartless and greedy. I have helped a woman in her 50's who lost her home and I helped get her into a local assisted living facility and she had money coming in for her social security disability but she suddenly died and has no family or friends in the area. She has one relative who lives out of state and doesn't have access to her bank account YET but because they are not getting the $$ right away they are dumping her with another group outside this area. I called several times throughout the week asking permission to see her to say "good bye" and they stated (LIED) the family would not give permission. I finally got the number for the family member and she said this facility NEVER called her to give permission for me to view her. This family member called this afternoon giving me permission to view and they denied me at the door stating "you need an appointment and she is leaving tomorrow." I offered $100 for just 5 minutes to see her before she left the area but the staff member looked at me with cold empty eyes and said "no." I understand rules but when minutes count and can make the difference for someone asking for closure and to say good bye you CAN make exceptions. Not them, they were done with her, the family member and me, Heartless! If this is how you treat someone without family and $$ you showed your true colors. This was just another injustice to this poor sole who did nothing but be kind to everyone around her. I am a retired military veteran and have a doctorate degree. I'm not just some hack - this was really ugly and sad.

I came to Clearwater to visit my mother who went into the hospital, not expecting that three days later I would be planning her funeral instead of taking her back to her home. Unfamiliar with the area, I did a Google search for funeral homes. At the time, my brother (in NJ) and I were considering anything from a simple cremation with a postponed Celebration of Life to a full funeral. I called a total of four places. Pricing was all over the place, and after a drive-by to each of them, so was the look and "feel" of each of them. I chose Moss Feaster Clearwater because of the first impression I had with Jasmine when I initially called who then transferred me to a living breathing earth angel, Dylan P. I could write a book if I described every detail that Dylan executed during this overwhelming and surreal process. Most importantly was that Dylan's empathetic, peaceful, calming, loving presence, and availability, was precisely what I needed to handle this daunting and emotional task. My brother was tethered to me from NJ, and Dylan went above and beyond to assure that we had every question answered, every (beautiful) detail planned, and every extra thing that we weren't even thinking of (i.e. death certificates, social security, etc.) addressed. The day of the funeral was (sounds weird to say) a dream come true. It was hands down everything and then some that my mother would have hoped for. Every detail (harpist, flowers, video montage, prayer cards, welcome reception area, greeters, Pastor and more - all but the Pastor were INCLUDED in the price) was extraordinary. Honestly, the most important detail of all was my mother. I've been to funerals where I wanted to politely close the casket and say "thank you for trying". My mother looked as peaceful, and elegant, and beautiful as she could. I was blown away at the work the hair stylist, and Dylan or whomever, put into her makeup and hair. It was a priceless "last memory" for those who felt the need to view her. The list of extras that Moss Feaster provided goes on and on. What makes me want to recommend them to anyone needing to lay a loved one to rest is their unwavering customer service. I pray I don't have another family member in Clearwater pass anytime soon, but when it happens, I will hands down use them again. And if I'm lucky, Dylan will still be there. Grateful is the understatement of the century. And PS on the pricing spectrum, Moss Feaster was HALF the price of their most expensive competitor, and LESS than their competitor who did not offer the all-inclusive services that Moss Feaster provided. And the least expensive competitor of all (cremations only) isn't even comparable to the other three. If we had gone the cremation only route, I still would have chosen Moss Feaster without question. Thank you Moss Feaster, and forever thank you Dylan.

I walked the cemetery and the preserve. I didn't inquire info or pricing of services.. A description of what I viewed while on the property is below along with several photos. The Heartwood Preserve is a medium size property and is essentially the same environment as Starkey Park. In fact, the most southwest corner of Starkey Park borders the Heartwood Preserve. The border fence can seen on the preserve trial which is probably a quarter mile long. I walked through the cemetery portion of the property viewing two graves. Small grave markers can be seen along the trail indicating gravesites. One grave not pictured was circled by pinecones with pineneedles a top. Each gravesite was directly beside the cemetery pathway (not paved) identical to many field like trials at Starkey where many fan shaped palm fronds are. The welcome center was staffed when I visited and a separate employee was tending to the grounds and politely waved and smiled. I learned a lot by walking the property on my own and will consider burial on these grounds.
