I met with Cheyenne the Monday after the holiday weekend to discuss the cremation and memorial service for my mother. She was extremely kind and supportive during that very emotional time. We received a list from the hospice nurse and, honestly, started with Florida Direct Cremation because of their location in St Pete. I have to say, it feels like it was divine intervention. From the very beginning Theo was compassionate and caring. He took the time to walk me through the process and helped answer all of my questions. I knew right away they were the right choice for our family's needs. Florida Direct Cremation is a small, family-owned business and you can tell by the attention and care they provide. Theo notified us when our father was in their care, he assisted with providing our father with honors given to a military veteran, and he stayed in contact with any updates in the process. I felt confident in entrusting them with our father. In terms of value, honestly, we did not do a lot of looking around since Florida Direct offered what we needed and nothing more. We did not need a big funeral home. We needed a service provided by someone who we could trust. I appreciate how Florida Direct Cremation does some of the leg work in notifying social security as well as mailing the death certificates to me (out of state). That and the wonderful customer service made Florida Direct Cremation a great value and great fit for us. Thank you, Theo. In this absolute dumpster fire of a situation (Google Florida "Free Kill" Law and schedule your surgeries out of state, you're welcome), Theo was a bright spot. He was compassionate, knowledgeable, kind, and patient. Theo, you made a terrible situation less terrible. Thank you.

When speaking to my family, there seems to have been several missed opportunities to make the experience more memorable. First of all, they offered a complimentary portrait which they could not do from a jpeg and had to be from a photo. There was no portrait at the funeral as a result. We are in 2020, so new photos are hard to come by other than in digital form. They also offered a video link which was good to allow people to watch since there was limitations of the number of people allowed due to the virus. The video link did not have the sound on the microphone so the entire family watching on the video missed the priest's sermon. I called twice to tell them and they did not seem to respond to my request. The last straw was I had ordered flowers through the funeral home and they did not deliver what I had ordered. See what I ordered first and what I got second. This was an overall off-putting experience to the point that everyone in the family is now wanting to do cremation instead!!
