It's…read morenearly impossible to get a human on the phone without a long wait, and when you do, they pass you around to the 'right' person. If you don't get disconnected. Two years ago, when my alarm tripped from a glass-breaking sensor at 3am while I was out of town, ADT called to notify me and I asked them to send the police and let me know the outcome. The rep promised to do so, and never called back. Finally after a nerve-wracking couple of hours, I had to call ADT to find out what was going on. The police had come promptly, and there was no break-in. A few weeks ago, one of my door sensors started showing a false 'tampered with' error code, so I called ADT to come out and replace the sensor. The tech came, told me my system was too old and they could no longer service it. He hadn't been informed of anything other than I was having trouble with the alarm. My only option was to replace the whole system, or try to find a compatible sensor and install it myself. I decided to switch to another company and called to cancel ADT. It took 4 tries, and hours of my time. Two of the reps I talked to lied about the 'disadvantages' of the company I'm now installing. They kept putting me on hold to 'process the cancellation', and then came back with proposals for a new system, even though I told them I just wanted to cancel. I will never install them again.

I tried to cancel service that was established by Royal Security who was then bought out by Altronics. Pye Barker refuses to honor the change of name that was approved by Altronics as the result of an estate settlement upon the death of my mother. The contract with Altronics clearly stated that the account number would remain the same, the monitoring period would remain the same and the remaining months left on the annual service would be credited as paid in full. Now they want to wipe away that time frame and claim the contract is being cancelled 7.73 months early. My relationship spans over 22 years going back to when we had another property under Royal Security. In less than a year with Pye Barker, my satisfaction went to total dissatisfaction. Stay away from Pye Barker and find a smaller security company with more personalized treatment!

On Monday, Feburary 17 2020 at approximately 1545hrs which is 3:45pm Manager Anitra Prempeh came to meet myself and other officers for the first time.  On my application I guess I checked the wrong box as far as putting spouse on there. I put Dorsa Fowler as a spouse mistakenly, we do live in the same apartment, I rent out a room from Dorsa. Dorsa is a friend. Dorsa Fowler is an Officer for Sunstates Security, I drop her off at work every day at 4pm, but that's personal. Anitra Prempeh was harassing me about who is Dorsa Fowler to me, she asked me "is that my girlfriend" and I said "NO". She then, said "stop lying" I said "I'm not". She asked "me who drops her off" I said "me". She said who takes her home I said I don't know maybe she takes an Uber. I am always at work.  So then she says, she will look in my beneficiary to see who I put down which I thought was an invasion of privacy and threaten to fire me if she seen Dorsa was on the paper. So as she was helping me do fingerprints, she seen that I had a wedding band she continued her harrassment and she asked me why do I have a wedding band on, she said does it mean anything? I already have salary based job, and was looking to make extra throughout my real estate investing. Being that I already have a career my hours weren't very flexible, however Sunstate was made aware during the interview, as Naquan Mack assured me that my schedule would not be a problem, and sunstate will work around it. So there should have been no confusion as for my schedule, or Sunstate could have just simply picked another candidate. However it was a problem due to my schedule a few days after accepting my offer the morale changed. I noticed irritation from individuals when I would make simple request. At first it felt family oriented, professional and cultured. Joe Hackett the HR did try in the beginning to work with me however he became irritated but still should some respect, however he wiped his hands clean, and passed me to Cynthia Gibson another HR Representative because I resigned. Cynthia was unbecoming from the very start. She came off hostile when ever I would make a schedule request. I just didn't understand the pure unprofessional I see why they were hiring. I resigned after a week or so I just could not lower my standards, and be apart of a corporation that does not demonstrate respect or admittance that there obviously wrong and there was some miscommunication on there in, and I was the one that was suppose to suffer. As adults I would think it could've been handled differently. I was informed by Cynthia Gibson that I must come to there Newark, DE office to get my last/first and only paycheck, which would have been no problem for me. I requested for my pay to be mailed to my residence, and Cynthia said she was unable to mail to me for some bazar reason. To this day Sunstate is still holding my first/last paycheck hostage. I made a few complaints with some agencies so they are at least familiarized with Suntates behavior. Since my pay is still held hostage I can't make a final request to at least have the $60 debt that owed to me be donated in Sunstate name to the NAACP corporation that's helps hundreds attend college every year.

I needed an outlet installed for a new tankless water heater that I was planning to have installed. As I was getting estimates for the new tankless water heater, my old water heater started leaking a lot of water into my laundry/utility room, so I needed to act quickly. When he came out to estimate the outlet installation he asked if I had found a plumber yet for the water heater installation. I told him I had an estimate from a local company but I thought it was kind of high. The two other plumbers who I had estimates from we are no longer able to take the job because of staffing issues due to COVID-19. Dave said he knew a good plumber and called him on the spot. He FaceTimed so that the plumber could see the job. The plumber he recommended was able to give me an estimate within a couple of hours. And came in $700 lower than the previous plumbers estimate. Plus he could do the job the very next day. Hurray! The plumber that Dave recommended came out and did a great job on the tankless water heater installation! They worked in a tight space in an old house and even were able to run my vents up through an attic and crawlspace and out behind a chimney so that they cannot be seen from the front of the house. Then Independent Electric Services came out and did a perfect job on the outlet installation for which I had originally contacted them. If I had not called Independent Electric Services I would've spent more money on my water heater and I would probably still be trying to get the job done. Dave made it happen fast, competently, and at a great price! I cannot recommend this company enough.
