For years I've seen Serenity and driven right by it. It doesn't have the high end Spa presence but…read moreit is a neighborhood "hidden gem" in some regard. As long as I've seen this spa, I have been holding onto a couple of gift cards for Spa Week and Spa Finder. Every place I frequent isn't a business that honors them, but when surfing the list of businesses that do, I saw Serenity on the list. Before booking an appointment I called the business to confirm the cards were accepted - yay, they take them (both)! Or so she said. I booked a manicure appointment for mom and I. Day of arrival we parked on the street (at a meter), not knowing the business has a parking lot behind the building for customers (manicurist shared with us during appt). That might have been worth mentioning Ms. Receptionist. The space looks small from the outside but inside is very spacious but dated; the Manicure Room is cute, but could use some updates as well. The nail color selection is limited and flat (none of the new stuff). The manicurist were great - took their time and polished well. Upon check out I presented both cards, one for my mom to use and one for myself. The reception said they didn't take Spa Week, I told her when I called the receptionist said they did. Whatevs, but I know what I was told. On my second visit (2 weeks later), I booked a mani and pedi, but the manicurist I booked with was no longer employed there, so I was very surprised because I wasn't notified. The new girl was good too, so I was satisfied, but normally a call with the option to keep or cancel appointment is my practice. The business sends frequent email blasts that let you know about specials and pricing, which the prices have spiked, as of April. A regular manicure will now cost $30, color gel mani $55, basic pedi $55. These new prices will determine the frequency of my visits.

I was left with dozens and dozens of huge bumps which resembled like bad bee stings all over my cheeks and chin. I look deformed. When I confronted Dr Hong and the staff he just said he made a mistake with the procedure and brushed off. After nearly 7 months I still have bad wart like bumps with bad discoloration. Needlessly said I look much much worse now than before with bad permanent skin condition. Dr Hong is an internist not a dermatologist. He and the nurses who perform some of the procedures appear not too qualified and knowledgeable. They should study more about some of the procedures and less of money making. There should be restrictive laws and prohibit some careless practices done by money hungry doctors and nurses.

She never got back to me. Dr Hong is a medical doctor and not a dermatologist. I got a second opinion from a real dermatologist and he didn't understand why Dr. Hong chose Helo Laser treatments on me, which has very strong lights. It's not for Asian sensitive skins because it can cause serious discoloration, like how it appeared on my face. I will have that for my life. I asked for my medical records and Dr Hong said no. Dr. Hong said only attorneys and other physicians can claim my medical records. I don't understand why Dr.Hong does not want to give my medical record?!! I have trusted and have been seeing Dr. Hong for 3 years. Now I never want to go back there again, I'm terrified.

I've been Sugaring probably for the past 15 years and I had an excellent aesthetician in Florida and then I moved to upstate New York, and I wanted to find someone that was equally as good here in New Jersey. I found Lotus Skin Care while doing some research on the web and call to make an appointment . I spoke with Secilia she answered all of my questions. She explained the location where they are, and the service that they provide. I made my first appointment with Secilia. I had the most amazing experience. Secilia is a consummate professional. She's friendly, inviting, and very personable. She puts you at ease and make sure that you're relaxed. She's also very communicative making sure that she understands exactly what your needs are. Every time I call Cecilia answers his phone and says hello Barbara, which adds such a nice touch a nice, personal touch. They offer many different types of Sugaring but I can say that each time Cecilia does it she does an excellent job. She talk you through it while she's Sugaring you and make sure that you're OK and also always ask if you have any questions. I would definitely recommend anybody that is looking for a new location or has never had a sugaring before and wants a new experience or any other services to check them out. I waited 6 months to write this review in anticipation that someone would reach out and check on me…read moreafter seriously screwing up my face. I saw Nena in April for lip and other fillers before a trip. a few days before I left, I noticed my face was uneven and called back to try to get in before my trip. The front desk dismissed my concerns of an uneven appearance and told me things needed to settle. On my trip the unevenness got worse and my face looked paralyzed. When I returned I scheduled an appointment and discovered that I was injected with Botox in my lips instead of filler causing the appearance of Bells Palsy. I further discovered that assistants in training are allowed to handle the product and unused products are being used on other people. How do you allow anyone but the injector to handle the products? How do you know how much is injected when you pay for a syringe and they are using left overs? In 6 months no one has reached out to me to follow up. No one offered a refund for the fact that I walked around with a paralyzed looking face on my vacation. I gave them 6 months to make it right and crickets. In my experience with a more reputable place: you should always see the product in a sealed container before allowing the injections.
