I stopped in Sugarcreek Ohio to see the World's Largest Cuckoo Clock & noticed this Bakery just down the block so I decided before running back to the car to dash in here. I am looking for a Fruit Cake for my Daddy I loved the outside! Lovely old building and you know how much I love Old Buildings... There was this really nice lady inside, assuming the owner and she was so sweet to listen to me babble. No fruit cake yet she said I was a couple weeks too early. So I purchased my daddy some Chocolate Peanut Butter Fudge. I know he will be happy with it!! I will definitely go back here again and I highly recommend to everyone. He has several various items to choose from

A recent visit left me with cinnamon rolls, a pumpkin bar, pumpkin whoopie pies, and of course a few fry pies.

The greenhouse is beautifully laid out with an incredible selection of flowers, hanging baskets, annuals, perennials, herbs, vegetables, shrubs, and so much more. Everywhere you look there's another burst of color, and it's obvious they take great pride in caring for their plants. Everything looked healthy, vibrant, and ready to thrive once you got it home. What I really appreciated was how peaceful the greenhouse felt. There was no pressure to hurry, so we were able to take our time walking through the aisles, admiring all the different varieties, and picking out our favorites. The staff was friendly and welcoming, answering questions without ever making us feel rushed. It's the kind of customer service you hope to find at a family-owned business. Whether you're looking to add some color to your flower beds, spruce up your porch with beautiful hanging baskets, or simply enjoy browsing one of the nicest greenhouses in Amish Country, Yoder's Greenhouse is absolutely worth the visit. We'll definitely be making another stop the next time we're in the area. If you're taking a day trip through Amish Country, be sure to add Yoder's Greenhouse to your list--you won't be disappointed!

AMISH KITCHEN COOKING…read more A big restaurant where you'll notice some Amish women working while wearing their traditional white head covering or bonnet. I visited Der Dutchman restaurant for the first time in Walnut Creek, Ohio in late July 2025 with 3 guy friends and 2 female friends. We drove down from Cleveland to visit sites in Amish Country (Millersburg and Berlin). We had just finished touring the Yoder Amish Homes property (over an hour tour in the heat) and after the fun tour we all were hungry for lunch. Der Dutchman came up on a Yelp search so we decided to visit. FOOD (see attached pics) -- Typical home cooking. Served buffet style. Reminds me of Hometown Buffet in Columbus but that restaurant doesn't exist anymore. The menu is large so you will definitely find something that you like. I got fried chicken, shredded beef, mashed potatoes, string green beans, and a side salad. I also got a second plate of food which I think was just another piece of chicken because guests can enjoy "all you can eat"; although, I didn't get too much food neither did I fill my plate up in my original serving. Plenty of options to choose from, including protein (chicken, fish, beef), salads, carbs (rice, mashed potatoes), and dessert. SERVICE -- friendly and efficient. The lunch time was busy but our waiter greeted us, brought water and bread rolls to our table and checked on our table during lunch. If you're visiting Amish country for the day like my friends and I did, then stop by Der Dutchman. It's a well talked about hometown favourite. All 6 of us enjoyed our time. They run out of pies throughout the day because they're not serving old pie here, but they're good and lots to choose from. Service = Very friendly. Sometimes a guy has questions, like "Why is there a log of cheese with my soup?" (even though it's awesome). But they answer in a friendly way. Restaurant = This place is busy, you will likely wait. Lots of seats, because apparently I'm not the only one that plans on going back after visiting. Clean and quick.

They close at 3pm, took our names at 2pm, and said it would be a 45 minute wait (which it was) but we didn't feel rushed once we were seated even though it was close to closing time. Our server was extremely friendly and great! Foodwise, we ordered the veggie quiche with a side of the house tomato basil soup and the bistro burger (bacon added) with a side of their soup of the day, cheesy potato. They have a variety of specialty coffee drinks but I chose to order the lightly sweetened peach tea for something different. My husband really enjoyed his burger and said it was well seasoned. He enjoyed the potato soup also and only wished they had fries to enjoy with the burger. My tomato basil soup was tasty! The quiche needed seasoning...I had to add salt and pepper and hot sauce and it could have done without all the extra cheese sprinkled on top. It came with a slice of blueberry bread though which was nice! The peach tea was refreshing as a change but I'd go with coffee next time. All in all we'd eat there again for sure and would try one of their delectable-looking pastries next time too. Thank you for a nice lunch, Rebecca's Bistro!
