Let's translate for a second. If a Spanish or Italian person came to this country they'd wonder why on earth this restaurant is named 'Is Is Is'. It's like that band in The Commitments being called 'And And And'. I'm sure they threw an exclamation mark in there just for avant garde measure. Perhaps Est Est Est should do the same.
Well, it can't really. Because it's changing its name to Gusto. Gusto! It's posh Italian fare - starters include raisin bread bruschetta, goat's cheese, balsamic vinegar and puff pastry tart, bruschetta with warm figs, goat's cheese and walnut... sorry, my mouth's watering all over the keyboard here. There's all your classic pasta dishes and some unusual ones too (penne with salmon, peas and baby spinach in a cream sauce is a favourite of mine) and you can get lobster and seabass cooked to perfection as well as steaks, pork, chicken and lamb, all cooked in the Italian tradition.
I defy anyone not to try the Nutella and marscapone folded calzone as a sweet. It is quite literally one of the loveliest (if not perhaps authentically Italian) and naughtiest deserts I've ever had. There are some lovely wines too with chardonnay, gorgeous Prosecco and champagne amongst others. It's a good restaurant to be fair, and one of the smaller chains around so you'd do well to get involved if you're after some more luxurious Italian food. read more
