I decided to try it, even though my usual gas station of choice would be Shell. I like how they have new pumps which are entirely blue. It is a nice change from the usual red or black color you see at other gas stations. There are 12 pumps, so a lot of people can be accomodated. I was also impressed that their car wash was also open 24 hours. Few car washes in the city are open for this period of time, granted the temperatures are reasonable. What I was most impressed with was their drive-thru Tim Horton's...also open 24 hours! Sure you can go to the one across the street, but it's very convenient since you're already there. I realize this location will not stay 'new' forever, however there are a lot of convenient services located at one location, making it one of the best Esso's I have been to in the city.

Most Domo Stations are exactly the same. Small staff hut. Gas pumps. Outdoor merchandise. The differentiating factor is the staff. I stop at this one a lot, and the one on Gateway Blvd. Both have great staff that seem to stick around for a long time. I assume they have a good boss and good working conditions. They have always been cheery and pleasant. That keeps me coming back.

The touchless carwash is slightly better than average for the same or slightly cheaper price than an older style ($7.99 for a basic wash with 30L gas purchase - that's up a buck since last year). I like that there's a water blaster at the start to get the heavy soil off the tires, rocker panels and bumpers. The surround dryer while not great is still better than the older drive-thru timed centre-hung ones.

Oh Fas Gas. Once upon a time you were the Red Rooster and I would always stop in after I got off…read morethe bus to buy some candy... you know, before I got home and my mom knew I was out buying candy. But you've been a Fas Gas for years now. And you're alright. You've got the pay-at-the-pump machines, your squeegee windshield wiper things are usually in pretty good repair, there's an ATM at the back if I ever need one, slushies for summer time stops and the usually other service station fare. Oh, and without fail you ask me about my litre log every time I'm in if I don't pop it up onto the counter! Maybe it's the familiarity of the building from its Red Rooster days, maybe it's just because Fas Gas is a bright green, but I choose you over that gas station down the road every time I'm up to visit the folks and need to gas up before I head back home!
