Yesterday, old friends took us for breakfast - and I hate to say it, but it was less than average, and the service was not only inattentive, but the execution was awful - and any product that did not come from the bakery was less than average. The salami and turkey was ... cheap. The four of us hated it. Then, it took three attempts to get a soft boiled egg - and it arrived 30 mins after breakfast. Once the service had cleaned our plates, it just disappeared. We sat there for another hour - as you do in Germany - and they did not even ask if we cared for anything else. I would understand if the place was packed - but at this particular time, two-thirds of the tables were vacant. They did not even bother to bring the check - we had to find someone to pay. Sorry, as much as I love your place, if I had to pick a place where to go today, I'd rather risk checking out any new place than going again. The wine paring was over-the-top delicious! What we really appreciated, was the fact everything was from the surrounding region - awesome way to highlight the local area wines! And, not only was each wine outrageously delicious but the compliments to the dishes were perfection. And did I mention that they do not normally offer veggie tasting menus so the preparation that went into our evening's experience was duly noted The Sommelier made sure to provide a wine card for us as we were leaving with the names of all the wines we tried, so we could go hunt down bottles for ourselves - score!! Here is what we enjoyed & again, it was an utter delight to dine here!! * Mini scone with lemon mousse & rice chip with cucumber mousse * Avocado with "spume" variations and spinach. * Beet and red pepper gazpacho with Pinot Blanc * Bread course with salted butter and olive oil and sea salt * Cauliflower variation & miso spume * Egg yolk w mashed potatoes & carrot & green bean * Leek & spume from onion * Risotto with shaved truffle, spinach & asparagus * Goat cheese variations * Plum consume with pistachio ice cream & mascarpone, plum ice cream, mini meringues and white chocolate * Plum ice cream with cherries * Macarons, paix de choux and chocolates TOTAL 2 people 3.5 hours 12 courses 2 sparkling Rieslings, 2 wine pairings €290 before tip
