I met with Chuck and I would agree with the other reviewer that he is a bit condescending as if I…read morewasn't well prepared enough for him with my spreadsheets, last years returns, notes, 1099 forms, deductions organized in a spreadsheet, etc. He seemed very disinterested in helping me with my taxes which prompted me to, at the end of our meeting, ask "is this something that you're comfortable with taking on" to which he replied (very aloof) "yeah but not until May". There were a lot of mannerisms like, scratching his head in frustration and dropping his hands on the table as if to say, this is ridiculous. I felt as though I was wasting his time when I drove to his office and am more than prepared to pay his $300 per hour rate. Eventually, while trying to set up a time/date in May he told me that he has changed his mind and no longer wants to work with me. I believe it to be because I corrected him on the dates that he sent me to schedule from. He had sent me an email saying that he is available May the 10th, Friday but, May the 10th is a Thursday. So, I simply wanted to be clear on which date to schedule. I am sure that he didn't like being "corrected" even though I was nothing but courteous with him the entire time. Most of my emails began with, "thank you again for taking the time to meet with me" and ended with "I appreciate your assistance" etc. Basically, things he should be saying to me as the client (not vice-versa). Instead, he was short and uninterested in his responses and in our meeting. I felt uncomfortable and judged as if I was some kid that didn't know what I was doing and it was up to him whether he wanted to waste his time with me or not. In the end, I guess he chose to not. I'll be more than fine, I'm actually very well versed in business income, deductions, tax forms, spreadsheets, etc. I really don't need to be made to feel that way especially, when I am educated. I'm not at all surprised that he declined to help me with my sole proprietorship taxes given his demeanor during our meeting and via email. He must make more than enough money than to deal with someone who can easily pay his asking rate and has all of his documents organized and available.

AWFUL advisor. Also, I question his knowledge about certain things. First off, I went to him to…read moreopen an investment account for just me. The first meeting, I was alone and the next meeting I was accompanied by my husband. After that McGrath took it upon himself to add my husband to the account...Why?...Because the "little lady" could not possibly have this account on her own. Here's what, because of my husband's residency status at the time, legally he could not be on the account. I had to put together a legal opinion letter for McGrath. Also, his own company told him my husband could not be added. In addition to not being very knowledgeable about certain things, the documentation he requires has not been required of me by any other financial advisor, in my life. He wanted to see tax returns (I never provided because I didn't go to him for CPA services); he wanted a copy of my driver's license AND a copy of my business card. Really?? Can you say "potential identity theft landmine!" I can't help but wonder if he was either being nosy or suspect (like he couldn't believe that I did what I did for a living). I often wondered if he treated ALL his clients like that.

I wish I could give Dan from Noreast 100 Starts!!…read more On Memorial Day we were out with our family when our 2 year old began pulling at his ears and feeling warm. We were near a Minute Clinic and brought him in. He was feeling worse and worse in just the short time we were waiting - turned out he had a sinus infection, double ear infection and a sore throat. After hanging out to see the doc and then get his antibiotics we were on our way - until we went out to my car and the battery had died :( It was hot and our little one was feeling terrible. Hubbs went back into CVS to see if someone could help and they called Dan with Noreast. He came around in just a few minutes. He tried to jump the battery but it was fully dead. The best part was, he was kind enough to run Hubbs home to get his car so he could come back for us and go get a new battery. Dan was extremely helpful and kind, went way beyond just the extra mile and even offered to keep an eye on our vehicle if we needed time to get it squared away. He was our family's hero on an otherwise rotten day. This a totally professional operation. Thank you Dan, you're the best!!!

5 Stars - Absolutely Outstanding Tax Help!…read more I cannot recommend Robyn enough! I went to her with a nightmare situation: TurboTax had me owing $7,300 to the IRS. Robyn took one look, rolled up her sleeves, and worked tirelessly until that number dropped all the way down to $114. I left her a message on a Sunday, and by Monday at 3:30 I was sitting in her office. She stayed with me straight through until 8:30 that night, even during a monsoon storm outside, never once losing her patience or showing frustration, even though my file was a complete mess thanks to TurboTax. Yes, it cost me $850 to have her fix everything (on top of the $350 I had already wasted on TurboTax), but I would pay her fee a hundred times over before I'd ever give the IRS $7,300. Robyn is worth every penny. Her professionalism, dedication, and kindness blew me away. TurboTax will never advise you, correct you, or fight for you the way Robyn will. It was an expensive lesson, but one I'm glad I learned--because I've now found the person I trust with my taxes. I'll be filing my 2014 return with her next week, and I know I'll be in good hands. If you want someone who truly cares and goes above and beyond, call Robyn. She's a lifesaver!
