A hip hangout or study spot! There was a lot of natural lighting, seating, wifi, and various healthy items on the menu. The décor was pretty interesting as well.

Single-origin Yirgacheffe

This is it; the pinnacle of millennial third wave coffee culture. I wish I could put this place in my pocket and take it with me everywhere, so I never have to be without their flawless single-origin Yirgacheffe (V60 or Chemex natch), funny friendly cheery service, lovely spare gallery walls and perfect airy modern decor, savory Greek frittata, and free fast wifi. Can't think of a more perfect place to plan your approach to Cambridge. If you're lucky, you'll score a castoff Guardian and overhear some of the academic 1% bitching about boys in Dutch. Things I didn't get to try that also added to the appeal: avocado toast with free range boiled eggs, hanging my bike on the wall.

Porridge Like No Other and soy latte

Almost entirely vegan/vegetarian menu! The Porridge Like No Other was perfect on a cold morning. It was thick, warm, and had just the right dusting of chia seeds. They were super accommodating when I asked for my syrup on the side and a side of berries. Coffee was great, and the space is bright and roomy. Since everything is made to order, expect to wait 5-10 minutes for your food. I wish I had another breakfast in Cambridge to try more on the menu!

Avo and Egg with latte

Incredible new cafe. Brings a London or NYC or Seattle grade of coffee with excellent, local, organic food and snacks to the centre of Cambridge. Particularly love the Slayer espresso machine - specially imported from Seattle, one of only a handful in the UK and custom finished in Cambridge blue!

Bread and Meat - Pork sandwich

Bread and Meat

We had to wait 20 minutes for a slightly cramped communal table, and it was all worth it. My…read morePhilly cheesesteak inspired sandwich was truly excellent, with warm, juicy flavorful beef and rich cheese curds, nicely balanced by green bell peppers and onions and bound together by a mild garlic aioli on perfect sandwich bread. Also got a slightly spicy and crisp coleslaw for a cool contrast and a minor dose of vitamins. My tablemates were also really pleased with their orders (a vaguely East Asian glazed chicken with pickled Banh Mi-style veggies and a cold roast beef with arugula--must try those next). Wow. Another reason to visit Cambridge.

Nice, high quality sandwiches. I actually went here two…read moredays in a row while staying in Cambridge. The first day I ordered two sandwiches, the Porchetta and the Jerk Chicken. The Porchetta sandwich has nice roasted pork and a crispy strip of pork skin to top it off. The description says it has a salsa verde sauce. To me, it was more like a pesto-style sauce. The pork was all meat and didn't have any globs of fat that you sometimes find in American pulled pork barbecue. The Jerk Chicken Sandwich was the weekly special. It consisted of several pieces of skin-on mostly dark meat chicken, house made slaw and I think a little mayo. I took off the chicken skin. It wasn't crispy and I don't care for much chicken skin. Even doing that, it had good flavor. A nice blend of spices and a little spiciness. I didn't eat it right away but it was still good. Like I said, I ordered this sandwich the next day. This time I ate it soon after ordering. The roll was still warm and slightly crunchy. I liked even more when eating it "fresh." I removed the skin on this one too. I used the take out window on the side and they were pretty quick, even though there were about four or five people in front of me. I'll definitely go back when in town and craving a sandwich.
