I walked in with my boyfriend and even though I had been told about the size of this Espresso House, I was still a little shocked. It was on a rainy Saturday and given the size, we ignorantly expected to find seats right away. We decided to order first and by the time we placed our order, some seats had opened up in the back. We ended up playing musical chairs here. As better seats opened up, we moved to them, so I got the full experience of the cozy interior in one Saturday afternoon.
We sat here for 5 hours and decided this will now be our go to coffee shop. I tried the black coffee, the cappuccino, and a latte. All three were decent. I wouldn't say it is Stockfleth's level, but it definitely compares to Kaffebrenneriet and given that Kaffebrenneriet has the most uncomfortable chairs and tables because they want people in and out of there as quickly as possible, I will choose Espresso House from now on for my coffee if I can, even if it is to go. I appreciate a place that appreciates their customers.
I do, however, have a couple of complaints. A double cappuccino here means a large cappuccino, not a cappuccino with a double shot. You have to say a small double cappuccino if you want a normal double cappuccino. Also, for such a large place, you would think they have more than just one bathroom. They literally have one bathroom for everyone there. There is no men's and women's bathroom, so that was a little shocking and irritating.
However, like I said, this is now my go to coffee shop so clearly the complaints I have would not keep me from coming back. read more
