Ok. I have tried to give Espresso House a chance on so many occations, and I have come to terms of accepting it as what it is. It is basically the Swedish version of Starbucks. Just like Starbucks, Espresso House works well for two things; to almost be guaranteed a free seat when bringing a large group of people to have coffee, or to use the free Wifi.
When it comes to coffee, Espresso House is quite meh! This particular Espresso House is no different than any other location in Oslo on this. I have tried the cappucino, the flat white and regular brewed coffee. The espresso based drinks (which you would think was their thing based on the name) were not memorable at all, and I don't even think I finished either one. The brewed coffee has also been a huge dissapointment. And this is quite sad, because they use high-quality Solberg&Hansen, but that doesn't help when the brewing process goes terribly wrong. The staff is nice and sweet, but I do not think they have much training in other things than great customer service.
Plus: I tasted the mango/mint slush-like drink, and that was tasty and fresh. I also appreciate the mini brownies they serve. read more
