Which made me feel uncomfortable. I had my first colonoscopy scheduled and was already anxious about the procedure and even though I was planning to do the procedure with Dr Schnall. I decided the day before not to do it . I left a message at the center as it was the weekend and call the morning as soon as I could to let them know , also that last conversation with Dr Schnall did stick out in my mind when I made my decision. The doctor patient relationship should be based on more than the financial benefit to the doctor. Later that day His front desk staff called me to tell me I will be charge 50 dollars for the last minute cancellation I had no problem with them charging -$50 which is understandable I did not dispute the fee. I told her my reasons for canceling in a calm way, But she started talking to me very rudely about it and proceeded to reprimand me on the inconvenience I caused to Dr Schnall and his team . it's my body and I have a right to change my mind , and to feel comfortable with my doctor and confident in my doctor /patient relationship, especially with a procedure like this. Patients have rights, and she does not seem to respect patients. She ended the phone call yelling at me which reaffirmed to me I made the right decision, people like this who have no empathy towards patients are in the wrong business.

As far as people calling him a "quack" on here... farthest from it. He is incredibly knowledgeable in his field. He will suggest trying homeopathic remedies, but I welcomed that after my experience. I have never ever been one for acupuncture, pressure points, tapping etc. But after going to MULTIPLE specialists, having test after test after test and drug after drug to try and diagnose my issue, Dr. Truong suggested I try acupuncture with him. What did I have to lose, I don't buy into it, but literally nothing was giving me relief from other specialists or medication. 2 days post-first session, I felt the first (albeit marginal) genuine relief from terrible discomfort in over a year. Great doctor. The one downside: reviews are correct, they never answer the phone. Like ever. Or texts. Thankfully I live down the block, and I'll overlook that to continue seeing him.

I came in one day to get tested for oral herpes because although I didn't have enough evidence to say what it was, I still wanted to be safe and get it checked out. With my insurance, co-pay of $15 is required for every visit so I went through that and saw the assistant, I can't remember her name but she has blonde hair from what I remember. So she checks me out, is super rough with my lips and tells me it's herpes without any further testing. I ask for more testing a couple of times and she tells me it's not needed and recommends me products to purchase. I left feeling emotionally distraught because they didn't do any testing and although the co-pay was cheap, it felt unnecessary. I went back in and demanded for testing and after seeing how emotionally distraught I was, was when she let me get testing. Guess what? Testing came back negative and the bump was actually a mucocele. Not only that but I received another co-pay in the mail. Again I don't know much about Maslavi but his assistant was super unprofessional in this case and caused me to no longer have him as my PCP.

He will sit with you and discuss…read moreany questions or issues you have, and he doesn't try to rush you through a visit, like most doctors I've seen. He helped me diagnose my food allergies and has been a huge help with any question I've brought him, and he actually listens and remembers his patients. Dr. Charles is also exceptional in that he won't just jump to prescription medicines to fix symptoms; he wants to find the root problem and treat that, instead of symptoms. He will also recommend herbal remedies and dietary changes when he thinks that will work better than prescription drugs, which is rare for western doctors. The whole staff is very kind, and as someone else mentioned, there is never a long wait. My husband and I both recommend Dr. Charles and his nurse practitioner very highly.
