Today I arrived at 9.45am to attended my colonoscopy appointment schedule at 10.00am, the time was passing and I was not called, I asked Susan one of the receptionist what was happening she responded that she didn't know what was happening behind her . At 11am asked the same question again Susan went to ask Dr. Esposito and came back saying that I was the next to be called, at 11.20am I approached the counter and tell Susan that I couldn't continue waiting to be called that 1hour 30 minutes was more than enough waiting time. I was fasting for 27 hours at the moment since the procedure require it, the last meal I had yesterday was my breakfast at 8.00 am No one from the medical staff came forward to explain the delay in calling or offer an apology read more

Let's see the reality here. Dr. Esposito is great doctor, knows his field well. His staff, even sometimes not organized is very hospitable. I received top quality service - on multiple occasions. It was the 4th visit to the office in the past "many" years, and so far so good. Very good, I must say! Staff is kind and attentive, treat you the best you can imagine. Doctor is honest, if you got sh-t inside of you - he will tell you right up! This is his job, right? Adriana is the best. She is there for 13 years! Very experienced, and very humble person. Not sure what all the negative reviews are about but I found the staff to be courteous, professional, very helpful and caring, including Adriana. Dr. Stephen Esposito is the best in his field. When i started seeing Dr. Esposito about two years ago when i was diagnosed with Crohns Disease, i thought he was a great doctor. Since, the receptionist are HORRIBLE. I was REFUSED my medication, I was REFUSED my medical records which is against the law. I have been hung up on, told i was threatening them, and just given the worst attitudes ever. This issue has been going on since November 2011, and i still have not been able to get my personal medical records. Horrible people. I am disgusted by the fact they would rather see a patient in pain, then release the records so i can get the medical attention i need. Pathetic staff. read more

I'd rather not even give this office one star but I have to or I can't post this complaint. I made an appointment for my son back in February. I made it for April because it wasn't a true emergency and I was told by jasmine that as of April 1st they would be taking my insurance. He was close by. Nice office. Clean and neat so I thought I'd wait. I called yesterday to verify my sons appointment and verify the insurance. Once again they said yes.. No problem. We'll see you tomorrow. I took my son for his long awaited 9:00 am appointment. We filled out all the paper work. I brought my referral At 9:30 the secretary comes out and said to us that the doctor does NOT take my insurance. OMG. I was so upset. The incompetence in that office is absolutely unbelievable. I should have listened to my brother who went there. He wasn't happy with the doctors bed side manner but I thought we'll, he's close to home. I was wrong. Run don't walk from this office. I was a patient of Doctor Esposito for several years. In the beginning I was just going in for medication refills. As soon as I had a problem and needed his attention I was so disappointed. His staff is rude and not helpful at all. I called to speak to the Doctor twice and was told he would call me back after his patients had finished for the day. Never heard from him. I went to the office at the end of the day out of desperation - waited one hour and he would not speak to me for even 5 minutes. Then he had the nerve to send me a letter that I should seek another doctor. I had no intention of ever stepping foot in that office again. If he's not getting a office visit charge for his time he will not talk to you. read more

i was never treated so poorly by a physician or his/her staff in my entire life. no phone calls were ever returned. i was sick and completely unable to get in touch with him. his office manager completely botched trying to get me on cimzia drug program. the drug company told me i was approved to start the drug and he was still telling me i was refused participation. and he was rude!! good luck with him as your doctor. read more

My rating is strictly for the doctor. Dr. Esposito is a troubleshooter. He provides excellent explanations on how things work, methods of arriving to a diagnosis and listing possible cures. A former employee of LIJ Hospital, Dr. Esposito has had tons of experience. The bottom line is that I feel better after being treated by him. read more

After reading the other reviews below I can attest they are truthful. Dr esposito prescribed me medication to take, however I started to experience horrible side effects. I paged him and also contacted his medical office, and he never made it a priority to call back. If you see Dr esposito just be aware it's impossible to reach him, and you're on your own health wise until your next visit. read more

by far the worst staff ever. two weeks ago i went in for a colonoscopy and dr. esposito told me he found something and would have results in 5 days. 7 days passed and not a phone call. i started callling last week and was told 4x that a nurse would call........ still waiting. if i am sick if the doctor found the big "c" i guss my family will find out from the coroner who does my autopsy. terrible patent care. read more

Dr Esposito was recommended to me after my husband was diagnosed with Hepatitis C. In addition, he had persistent gastrointestinal issues which were dismissed as "nothing" by three other physicians. Dr Esposito saw my husband. He diagnosed him correctly. He started him on a just approved treatment from the FDA. He saw my husband weekly until he was pronounced cured. No trace of virus. Until this treatment only a third of hep c sufferers were cured. Dr Esposito saw us and worked with us. He was kind and compassionate and his staff helped us get funding fir what would have been a treatment that would otherwise bankrupt us. Even with insurance. I couldn't be more grateful or supportive of this excellent doctor. read more

This doctor's office really has fallen far from the tree. This office used to be very good and their staff has destroyed this place. As the other reviews stated, the staff is rude and discourteous. Calling this place is asking for your blood pressure to rise, the receptionist doesn't speak English well and to top it off is rude. Then the office manager ignores you or just brushes you off. The doctor refused to see me because i saw another Gi doctor that was covered w an insurance he doesn't cover. Never again! read more

good doctor, although he doesn't seem to care if patients are having bad experiences with his front desk staff. not going there anymore as I don't appreciate having my calls ignored by his stuck up, ignorant secretary, Adriana. Update, since I've been to my new doctor, found out that I have been severely undertreated for my Crohns by Esposito, Should have been on 3x as much Imuran, should have been on maintainance medications since my surgery and nothing from him. New doctor says that most doctors undertreat crohns. I fell thru the cracks at his office when he had PA's working with him and he was more concerned with packing in the colonoscopies than patient care, they aren't doctors. Okay now, I was hospitalized 3 times with severe crohns attacks (tubes in every orifice) I was 138 lbs, I'm 6 ft tall, when was he going to do the surgery ? He sent me home again to get sicker and because I was emaciated and on high doses of anti depressants I fell into a coma, yes a coma for 5 days. Couldn't move my arms and legs, spent a month on my back. Yes the antidepressants were a contributor but why couldn't he assess my overall condition and move on with the surgery ? So to me he is a large part of me having a coma. I was in his office 3-4 yrs ago when I was in terrible pain, bad diarea, every day was agony. He gave me cream for rectal pain and said 'ride it out'....I was having bad crohns symptoms and HE SENT ME HOME ! I was in the middle of several life crises and didn't know what was going on with me so I trusted in him again I was sent home to get sicker. It seems most people that have had surgey the crohns comes back, so he totally misdiagnosed he, I had classic crohn symptoms and he sent me home. He has cost me so much suffering, you have no idea :( read more
