We had Terry remodel our 1940s bathroom - electrical, plumbing, tile, tub, painting, toilet, sink,…read morelighting, cabinet, exhaust fan, grab bars, counter, plaster repair - the works! It's now been about 4 months since he finished the work and each day I look at our new bathroom and think "wow!' He did a great job! He was patient and always responsive to any questions or issues, and cleaned up each day. Great workmanship too. He started out by measuring and answering any questions we had, offering ideas here and there but letting us make our own decisions. Unlike some other contractors, he did not give fancy 3D architectural renderings, nor did he accompany us to each supplier to pick out products. Here's what his process was, which was perfect for us. We received a proposal contract which listed each item or task, along with a cost allowance for each item. If we chose something more expensive than its allowance, the final price would reflect the increase. If what we chose cost less than the allowance, the final cost would go down by that much. So we had a bottom line price from the start and would have the final decision on expenses. He then also gave us a list of his suggested suppliers from which to pick out all of the products. We worked with those suppliers to make selections at their respective showrooms (they work with TLC regularly), and they forwarded our selections to Terry. A few selections we made were from suppliers not on his list, which was fine, but the places he suggested were where most of the items came from. When all selections were made, he provided us with a revised proposal contract reflecting our selections and revised costs. Then he - not us - did the ordering from each vendor to insure that all of the parts and pieces fit together and would work, plus that way his contractor discount was applied. His final contract to us was transparent and showed all prices. No additional markups, no change order fees, no nonsense. If someone wants computer-generated architectural renderings, having him present at each supplier meeting, one central showroom where every needed product and samples are all in one place, then this type of contractor isn't likely for you. If however, you want a remodeling contractor that not only provides the quote but also does the actual work himself, with reliable suppliers that work with him, with a fair price and a minimal amount of stress (if that's possible lol), then TLC's a good choice. Would we recommend TLC Contracting? If you haven't it already guessed: the answer is absolutely!

They are detail-oriented people who work closely with their clients to make them feel like they truly get all they've asked for and more. If you have a vision in mind and can be available for ongoing communication to help transfer those ideas into reality, then The Rigsbys can make your dreams come true. I would highly recommend them for ground floor projects, remodels, and renovations of all sorts.

Calm and reasonable during the construction process with clients and tradespeople. We loved the 3 D renderings provided so we could see exactly what we were building. Detail oriented, up to date in design and products. Incredibly fair and honest. We had not one problem with our complex and large home renovation, and in the end, money was returned to us per the allowances contract. His accounting seemed impeccable and cost structure fair. In our opinion, it is much better than other contractors we've previously used. I believe before accepting any posted negative reviews, a prospective client should conduct their own due diligence. Contact multiple Rigsby Group clients; call subcontractors for information on construction quality, payment history, working and interpersonal relationships; finally research the history of any customer who filed any kind of complaint. What was the level of construction drawing completion at the start of the project. If they were incomplete, could that have created project problems? Have all the contractors/subcontractors been paid for all work performed when the client was responsible to pay? Have other contractors/subcontractors been fired by the client? Has the client filed or threatened complaints or lawsuits against other contractors or subcontractors? if the answer to any of these questions seems wrong might these be unreasonable clients that no contractor could satisfy? With repeated posts/complaints by or on behalf of one individual, could Shakespeare's "The lady doth protest too much, methinks" apply?

I recently hired JA Homeworx, LLC for a roofing and siding project, and I regret choosing them for…read morethe job. While the initial communication was professional, the final result was disappointing. They subcontracted the work, which I wasn't fully informed about upfront, and the quality of the work clearly reflected that decision. The attention to detail was lacking, and even today, if you closely inspect my home, you can still see the inconsistencies in the work. When I reached out to the company to express my concerns--not only about the aesthetic issues but also about water spots and condensation forming on my ceiling--their response was slow. Jeff quickly dismissed my concerns, suggesting I get a second opinion if I wasn't satisfied with their work or that I could refer to the installation instructions. Upon reading the instructions, I found that their contractor hadn't fully completed the job, which added more items to the list. They agreed to come back to make repairs, but the crew that arrived simply removed most of the tape I had placed and poorly applied globs of caulk around my home. I requested another walk-through of my home, and they sent Jordan out. While he was more pleasant and professional, he was still slow to respond and made me feel as though I was asking too much. As of today, four months after the initial work was completed, they've fixed what they could, applied a lot of caulk, and hope they've found the cause of the leak on my ceiling but have failed to address the condensation that forms down an entire exterior wall. Here's to putting this project behind me, while I'll have to learn to accept the poor workmanship, I'm just hoping I don't encounter issues down the road.

We had JA HomeWorx complete three jobs for us totally around $100,00. The first one was great:…read morereasonable price and quality work. The second job had issues throughout the process. First, the work is completed by subcontractors, and while the quality is great, communication is lacking. Jobs are rushed, and details are overlooked. The second job JA HomeWorx completed was at our rental in Platteville for hail damage. The repairs involved replacing gutters, the roof, and some siding. Again, the quality of their subcontractors was excellent, but details were overlooked. The three main issues were that the window flashing was not the correct color, a gutter was placed incorrectly, and water meters were removed and thrown away. They did give me a credit for the incorrect flashing color and helped the city replace the water meters. The gutter issue wasn't fully resolved, but I accepted their solution after it was moved twice. I have attached pictures. The house did not have a gutter running down the front; their subcontractors installed the gutters without knowledge of where the original ones were located. They did make multiple trips to try and resolve this issue, but this job was rushed, and details were overlooked. Jordan admitted that this job was rushed to get it completed ASAP because we were selling the house. The third job was also for hail damage on a four-unit condo building. The one issue was I was promised that we would schedule the repairs so I could be onsite (I didn't want details overlooked again). I was very frustrated that I was not given any notification that repairs were going to be made and only became aware of them when notified by one of the owners who were home.
