The ambiance is relaxed, so good for food with friends and can be quite intimate with candles on tables and low lights. I booked the restaurant via an app on my phone (dead easy and convenient). When we arrived there, our table was ready and we received a warm welcome. The food - it was the Christmas menu this time- was tasty and well presented. The wine was very nice too! I have to say that the waitress was very nice, honest and helpful. She even went back to the kitchen to check the exact content of a dish (she did tell us before but went to check and fedback to us, very thoughtful and accurate) Special commendation for this restaurant: they have bottles of Ruinart Blanc de Blanc, my fav champagne! I didn't have any but it's a good sign to me!!

However, they miss the most important: you go to a restaurant for the quality of the food. We had to wait 45 minutes for soggy fries, over-cooked burger was so dry we struggled cutting through it, nothing left of the blue cheese in it. My dish arrived with the pulled pork looking like strings of dried meat coming out of a packet, the dish was sitting there for a while as the coleslaw had already some skin on it. When you wait that long you expect freshly cooked food not reheated food.

All the more exciting that it is new and not well known yet. But it will be on the map in no time! The food was excellent and the portions were huge! Even the drinks were big, but there was no compromise in quality. Top notch chefs and serving staff; the food was all very fresh and tasted notably well prepared. Everything had that "hand crafted" sort of feeling from the thought of the flavours and dishes to the decor and menus. This is the sort of place I would go back to again and again. The prices were very reasonable considering the portion size and luxurious dining experience! When you enter the Ramada Hotel, it is located through the lobby to the left. There is a bar there, but simply ask the waitress to be seated in the restaurant area. We chose to sit close to the kitchen in the back. Very nice decor with vintage style lighting and fun artwork on the walls. It is definitely an upper class sort of place. After a round of drinks, I opted for the starter of Baby Back Ribs. I read they are fresh pork ribs that are apple smoked in house. The meat tasted hearty, and it had a delicious glaze. I ended up sharing it as it was a very large portion as a starter. We all nibbled on a Grazing Board to share. The vegetarian 'Med" Board had a selection of cheese, olives, bread, etc. Nice way to sample Mediterranean flavours and put off the hungry feeling. For my main I ordered the Devonshire Braised Ox Cheek. This was one of the best Ox Cheek I have ever had! (it was my first ox cheek I've ever had) But after having it at this restaurant I wouldn't want to order it anywhere else as I now have very high standards. It was very succulent and soft, almost as if it melted in my mouth! The meat was on a bed of delicious horseradish mash ladled with red wine jus. It also came with a side of honey glazed carrots. I'm not normally a cooked carrots fan, but I had to make myself stop eating them as they were so good! This meal was massive and I offered to share some of it with my family. My Husband enjoyed a huge stuffed and grilled Rainbow Trout, and our parents got the Chicken and Pomegranate salad and Mixed Grill. Everyone was super happy with their decisions and there was more than enough food to satisfy us all. I was definitely full by the end, but I couldn't resist the desserts menu. Although they have an award winning cheese selection, I wanted something sweet, so I got the Apple & Blackberry crumble with cornish ice cream and single cream. It had a very rustic taste to it; not your typical crumble. This was a very nice way to end the evening. All in all, as I mentioned above, I highly recommend The Queens Road! Huge portions at a reasonable cost, and no one in our party had any quibbles about anything from the food to the service and decor. I think this place should enter their menu and chef into contests because they stand an excellent chance at taking home all the prizes. The quality and flavour are straight out of London Mayfair!

But that's not the case with Queen's Rd... our meal was very smooth and meticulous. Right from being greeted at the door to when we left, the staff were friendly and constantly checking up on us to make sure we were happy and had everything we needed. We had a big sharing platter between 4 people as a starter, and despite my Mother & Father insisting that they didn't want any, within minutes, they were digging right in! ha! The main was also exceptional, excellent flavours and great decoration - I honestly couldn't finish it all. Foolishly, I went for the dessert too... which was futile as it just made me feel overfull and silly for even attempting another dish (chocolate - my weakness) I thought it was a shame that we were the only people in the restaurant at the time, because they have a great product and location! But as with all new restaurants, these things take time to build up... maybe a little more marketing and promotion and they'l do just fine. My wife and I will definitely be back.

Along with the uneven food, the service was indifferent as well, which contributes to the overall "A-ok!" 3-star score which is a shame really, as some of their dishes were just so good! So to start with the high - if you are a vegetarian, then let me tell you the good news / the veggie dishes here tasted spectacular! I LOVED the eggplant & green beans- in fact the hum of delight I inadvertently gave out when first tasting the eggplant dish caused one of my co-diners, who dislikes eggplants, to give this dish a go. There was a beautiful creaminess and bright Unami-ness to this dish. The eggplant was absolutely my favorite dish of the night, followed quite closely by the green beans! Those beans were so bright and crispy! Loved the strong crunch they produced in my mouth. Next favorite in rank was the lamb with cumin and onions. I've never had such aggressive cumin seasoning in a Chinese restaurant dish before, but this was good! The lamb maybe could have been more tender but overall it wasn't too shabby. We also got a popcorn spicy chicken dish as well as a soupy fish curry - both of which I massively disliked the taste of. The chicken just tasted off and old - the individual pieces were also too oily. The fish had this aggressive peppery seasoning that would just taste weird in the mouth. The curry tasted soapy to me. When it came to Service, we just couldn't seem to get the waitress's attention. Our rice bowl got empty and it took a while for her to get us a refill. Water wasn't bought to our table either and it was just a pain trying to get any server's attention once all the food had arrived. BTW, the reason I don't know the names of the dishes we ordered is because of our colleague is Chinese-American and we asked him to do the ordering for us. He also paid the bill, so no idea about cost. Overall, in conclusion, I'd definitely return for anything vegetarian, but be cautious of anything with meat or fish on the menu. Yelp 152/ 2019

Not too rude (at the risk of benchmarking to a stereotype), not too cold, but at the same time there wasn't much of a recommendation in terms of what to order. OK - I suppose I can deal with that one. Food selection seemed pretty authentic and varied with everything from chicken gizzards and duck tongue to tripe and intestine mince. They even had a decent vegetarian selection. I ordered the lamb with cumin and the pork ribs with prawns. Both were spicy but differently so. The pork noodles was excellent. Highly recommended!
