This is a venue I had wanted to try out ever since it first opened. Well, I ventured here yesterday afternoon and didn't know what to expect. There appeared to have been several noticeable changes to the décor, most notably the lighting. I mean, how many spotlights can one small eaterie need? The menu on display was a generic takeaway, with photos of certain foods on offer. The service provided appeared to be friendly on the surface but even my friend commented that the atmosphere in here made him feel uncomfortable. We were told that the pasta was "fresh" and it would cost £3.20 but with cheese and salad about £4.50? We opted for the first choice. But when my friend received his order of cajun chicken with penne pasta, it was served up on a chipped plate, we could see that it had been placed in a microwave as droplets of steam were present. My choice of prawns with pasta wasn't any better. It didn't look appetising nor did it taste any better. My friend offered to buy me a drink but I refused. The whole experience was off-putting. What looks superficially clean and "trendy" is just a façade for a run of the mill burger bar, with reheated/microwaved frozen food. After so may years of "I'd like to give it a go", my expectations were high. But I left mightily disappointed. Not a place I would want to visit again or recommend to others :-( read more
