I've been going to the same stylist for years and even went to his wedding but it was time for us…read moreto break up. I get my brows done two doors down at B. Makeup and found out about Salon Matteo from them. I had a horrific cut that needed a lot of fixing and Patricia worked wonders on it. She listened to me and took an hour (!) to fix a pixie cut. I told Patricia that I don't like to use a bunch of products and she cut it so that it looks great whether I have five products in my hair or none. The atmosphere is fun and lively. The women who work there obviously love what they do. It's always scary to find a new salon but I'm glad I took a chance. My wash, cut and styling was $60 which is exactly what I would expect to pay for the service I got. June 2012 Update: Patricia has left the salon and I will be leaving too. I recently went to Salon Matteo for a single process color. After a few minutes, I let my stylist know that my scalp was burning. After some convincing and accusations that I probably have eczema or something else wrong with my scalp, she finally washed it out. Now I'm left with hair that was processed for a few minutes and it looks horrible. . My hair is completely the wrong color. The grays that are supposed to be medium brown are bright yellow. What's worse is that no one called to ask how I was and when I called the manufacturer of the color they use, the manufacturer was unhappy that the salon hadn't called in an incident report. It's fine that I had a reaction to the color; it happens. What I don't like is that no one really cared that my scalp was burning and no one called to check up on me afterwards.

Excellent results and super friendly, professional service without difficulty scheduling a…read moreconvenient appointment relatively quick; I was offered a same day appointment but wasn't able to make it and was able to get an afternoon appointment for Friday on Wednesday. I advised the salon that I had a Groupon to redeem upon scheduling and was advised that they have an extra charge to blow dry long hair but outside of that, the Groupon would cover everything including the deep conditioning treatment. Nancy was amazing and so sweet. Upon finishing my cut and blow dry, Nancy said I was all set sighting that I had mentioned my hair being long but saying it wasn't that bad, so extra charge for the blow dry that I've been charged extra for the cut when my hair was shorter (extra fee for long hair was the reason) which I shared with Nancy as I thanked her. She also shared prices for services without a Groupon which are more than reasonable at $25 for a wash and trim(no blow dry) but now that she's seen what I like, I'm okay going without the blowout next time plus the conditioning treatment is a $20 charge which is optional but a great value. Definitely found my new go to hairdresser. The salon was quiet but not uncomfortable and likely due to the gloomy, rainy conditions on a Friday at rush hour but it worked out well for me.
