It's…read moreone for beers geeks looking for craft beers on tap and keen to keep away from the Tuborg and Carlsberg that dominate touristy bars. It really is worth the trip, not far from the nearest metro stop it best described as a grainy hipster bar where 99% of the clientele are locals. There are retro pictures on the walls and bicycles hanging from the roof. Apart from that it is pretty basic with no fancy edges, just a chalkboard with 10-ish craft beers from across the globe on tap. I had an amazing IPA from New Zealand which is one of the best beers I have had on this trip to Copenhagen. Definitely worth a look if you like new beers and want to get of the beaten track. (Sadly no wi-fi though)

I love this gem of a place in Nørrebro…read more Forget the upscale Mikeller or the big Taphouse, this place is small but "hyggeligt" as the Danes would say. I was dragged here after a hearty meal at the Ethiopian restaurant on the same street further down Nørrebrogade and this place is just perfect. I like that there are more and more craftbeer bar in Copenhagen that gives no excuse to drink a bad beer. They have their beer list on the blackboard by the bar and you could get a taste of what you will order, and since it's called Ølsnedkeren, they make their own bottled beer as well. Too bad I had to hurry home because I was drinking on a Wednesday, but I would definitely come back to this place again.

This was my very first meal in Copenhagen and my friend couldn't have picked a better spot to teach…read moreme all about Danish foods. He made sure to get us some aquavit for the meal (usually drank with herring, strong alcohol that has a taste like caraway seeds), and some snaps. We had porse snaps (berry flavored, good) and honey snaps (not good!). Then we tried various dishes! The Frederik VI herring was delicious with onion and capers. If you're not sure how to eat herring the traditional way, grab a slice of the tasty black bread, slather on the goose fat (or the butter if you don't want it super traditional), then add the herring and pile the toppings on top of that. Take a big bite to get it all in and enjoy! We also tried the curry herring which comes in a little dish with apples soaking in a curry sauce - yum! Port herring was very sweet, but still tasty. My friend also ordered the persian beef for himself which is like a cooked steak tartare with a raw egg yolk, beets, red onion, and capers. It makes for a super tasty bite all together, but it is a mouthful! The staff here was friendly, I loved getting to sit out on the sidewalk and enjoy the view of the street and watch all the bikes go by. It was a gorgeous introduction to the city and a very filling and yummy meal!
