Down an alley off of a main street in Copenhagen is a cocktail bar that's more of an oasis. My buddy and I arrived at 6pm on a Sunday evening, just in time for the bartender to open the giant gates to the outdoor patio. We walked inside and sat at a large booth table. Here's our experience: 1) Cocktails: The menu is only two pages, but each cocktail is quality. Having a sweet tooth, I ordered the R&R with Roe and Company whiskey, rhubarb liqueur, raspberries, lemon and sugar. I can honestly say it's the best cocktail I've ever have. Even with a price tag of $20, I almost ordered another, because of how balanced it was made. 2) Space: It's down an alley. Enough said. The outdoor patio and the inside space are simple, but well designed. 3) Service: It's superb- attentive, fast and friendly. If you have any questions, the bartender will guide you through the menu.

Located in a private alleyway, this bar was filled with locals inside and out. The workers were very friendly and attentive to us, even with the large amount of people in the bar. They made sure we were comfortable. Libkoeb is a great place to sit down, relax, socialize, and have a drink. The drinks we ordered were good. We would definitely come here again!

TL/DR: One of my favorite cocktail bars on the planet. We visited late on a Saturday afternoon in October. Nice, chill, conversational vibe. (I've read that it gets much busier later, unsurprisingly.) The fireplace was warming and "Sure Shot" and "Shoop" were on the playlist. Friendly staff and a truly excellent cocktail menu. I loved my Østersø Cola, to the point of it being an all-time favorite cocktail. It helps if you like salty black licorice, but if you don't, what are you doing in Denmark in the first place? We liked Lidkoeb so much we were almost late for our dinner reservation at Spuntino, which I'll review next.

    A beautiful assortment of cocktails!

I love this bar. My husband and I can walk there from our apartment and usually get here every few weeks for a great cocktail and fun ambiance. The bartenders have all been really friendly and attentive on every visit. Their is an amazing whisky bar on the top floor that is super cool, definitely go up and check it out. I would definitely recommend this bar to anyone visiting Copenhagen or if you're a local.

I popped by late on a Wednesday evening and only the ground floor was open (I believe they have three floors and outdoor seating). If there aren't people out on the patio, it's a little hard to find, but that also makes it that much more rewarding to uncover, too! Ambiance felt more like a gastropub than a cocktail bar, but I had no expectations going into it, so either one would have been fine with me. The menu's got it all, from cocktails to wine to beer, with some snacks to boot. I sat down and indulged in a Hyggelig Martini (110dkk), because, Copenhagen. It was a smooth, classic-ish cocktail with a flavor that perfectly matched its description ("A proper martini in a wetter style. A boozy, liquid interpretation of a very Danish word: Hygge."). The only thing I wasn't prepared for was the Star of Anise garnish (not a fan), but thankfully it didn't soil the experience for me. It was towards closing hours and the staff was attentive, but in the midst of closing down and less warm, friendly than I experienced at other places.

Argh, why Yelp do you choose to merge entries without reading the damn review? This is for a separate entity within Lidkoeb. It has its own operating hours and does it's own alcohol program. Look here: https://twitter.com/LidkoebWhisky Please quit messing with my reviews! ---------------------------------------------------- Many people who enjoy the nightlife in COpenhagen know about Lidkoeb and its sister bar Ruby. What recently opened that not many people may know about the Whisky Bar. On the very top floor of Lidkoeb's hidden building is another space where only Whisky drinks are made. Also it's only open on the weekends so you have to plan accordingly. It's way more mellow than the main bar on weekends and it's a slice of specificity. Got some of my favorite Pappy & Van Winkle drinks plus a great whiskey that i aged for 20 years normally and 1 year in a rum cask. Super smooth. The two guys running the bar are awesome and made us feel at home. A cool concept in an already great bar.

Tyve Tyve - nice refreshing gin cocktail with a lot of complex tastes - overall delicious!

Overall I really enjoyed this cocktail bar. It's filled with a library like atmosphere and the bartenders are more knowledgeable about the cocktails here than I've seen almost anywhere else and also more creative. I mentioned I didn't like something in a drink and they swapped things out for me to make it a better drink for my palette and it turned out extremely well.

I really enjoyed Lidkoeb. I like how it's tucked away from the street and has a bit of a secluded feel. I liked the bartender. He was nice and knowledgable. I like the variety of their drinks which change seasonally. I got their Papirflyveren (off menu) and Jordnødde Oldfashioned cocktails. Both were good, but I was a little disappointed in the Jordnødde Oldfashioned. It was described to me how natural peanut butter and banana flavors are infused into this cocktail, but they could be hardly tasted in the actual drink. It did come with dried bananas, but it didn't taste as interesting or different as it sounded. They have both inside and outside seating. I probably prefer the inside as it is a little more intimate, but the outside is nice should it be too packed inside. Fortunately, I came on a relatively quiet night.

Good amount of people on a Tuesday night.

Lidkoeb is a place I've been multiple times. Usually I go there during the weekends to get my pregame on. It's not really a place I would stay all night, but a few hours could easily be spent there. The location is a little hidden, which makes it feel like a secret gem. Take the first narrow passageway on the right side of Føtex on Vesterbrogade, and you'll get to unlock a great night with tasty cocktails. The cocktails, bartenders, service, atmosphere and location is flawless. I always feel very comfortable and almost like home when I'm there (might be caused by their fireplace). They have the entire building, which means they have three levels to enjoy your conversations and drinks. Though the bottom floor can get quite noisy when it's full. I always tend to forget how the second floor looks like (might be because I'm too buzzed) so lets head on to the top floor. The third floor is really awesome, it's a whiskey/bourbon room. It's been decorated as if you stepped into a timecapsel circa "madmen". Their restrooms are always very clean, and it serious smells like a summerdream in there. They have a good selection of cocktails, but if you find nothing to your tasting, it's possible to order off menu. They also offer beers, champagne and wine. I've had so many different drinks here, and I recall all of them being delicious. So why would I only rate it three stars after only giving positive feedback on everything? Well the things is, I consider myself as being a person who's aware as to what I pay for, and what I get in return. Lately the prices on cocktails have gone up, they are now all around 100 kroner per drink, compared to around a couple months ago they were on average 85 kroner. The cocktail size you get at Lidkoeb are very modest. I do have an understanding for businesses having the need to raise their prices every now and then. But with this increase, I do not feel like I'm getting what my money is worth anymore. Will I ever go back? Yes! Definitely, but maybe I'll just settled for ONE drink.

Lidkoeb is an excellent artisan cocktail bar with a unique upstairs bar area. Unfortunately, upstairs was closed when we were in town. I ordered the Jordnodde Oldfashioned, which is a twist to the American traditional Oldfashioned and contains peanut butter fat-washed Four Roses Single Barrel bourbon, banana syrup, and bitters. I will definitely try to duplicate this at home. This is a type of bar that I would come to with friends on the regular any time of the week for tasty cocktails.

This is a bar to remember. Everyone will always have their own personal experiences at bars but the amazing drinks, staff, and interior space made my evening that much better. Ask for their whiskey based recommendations and they wont disappoint. Ask if you can see the whiskey bar on the attic (when they're not too busy) and they might give you a small tour and will follow up to bring you some of their best whiskey for you. It was definitely one of the best nights I've had in copenhagen and will definitely look forward to coming back here. Thanks Lidkoeb!

Creative and genuine. US Americans will love!!!This bar was a find from a friend, we loved everything about it. The decor is cozy and warm with a knowledge staff. We came back on a Friday just before our returning flight for the whiskey bar which is only open weekend. They have rarer whiskeys that are hard finds in the US, so we had the top shelf whiskey flight. Only there once right?! Absolutely Wonderful.

Entrance to the whiskey bar (they serve a mix of whisky, whiskey, and bourbon)

Fantastisk Sted At Gå Ned I København!…read more SITREP If you don't read Danish, that's my excited utterance of "Great Place To Crash In Copenhagen!" And a shout out to my yelpie Bridget W. and my trippy Mette for both cluing me onto this veritable hostel paradise! THE SETUP So what happened is on my flight out of Stockholm, Sweden, I ended up with a one (1) day layover in Copenhagen before going on to San Francisco. Now, this was PLANNED - I knew I had the layover: it was either this or pay $400 more for the next least expensive round trip between San Francisco and Stockholm (and back). As it turned out, I was already spending 10 days in the Baltic States with friends, hitting Sweden, Estonia, Russia and Finland. Unfortunately, there was no time in that itinerary to hit Denmark (nor Norway, for that matter, though technically, although also part of "Scandinavia", Norway is not a Baltic state). So an extra stop on the return leg in Copenhagen for a full day presented itself to me and I was happy to take it. DOWNTOWN DISTRICT AND CLOSE TO AIRPORT As soon as I jetted back into Copenhagen Airport (my 2nd time here in addition to my 1st two (2) hour layover in this airport on way to Stockholm), I jumped into the rail-car at the adjacent train station. Not more than 12 mins, I was at the downtown Central Train Station, and only a block and a half from Urban House! URBAN HOUSE It's right on the corner, with the front door in the middle of the block (just a block and a half up from one of the train station's entrances). https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/urban-house-k%C3%B8benhavn-2?select=JZdnyOCkTnIibGTVoHJ-bA&userid=3mNz5nQFTIBQm0oU5mBR0w The fees are very reasonable: at the time I was making my reservation for the middle of July, it was $35 a night in a dorm room. I pulled the trigger on a SINGLE room with a bathroom for only $94.71/night. Easily just a third of the cost of even the more "moderately" priced hotels in Downtown Copenhagen, near the airport. And most of the time I would be on a walk-a-bout and not in the room anyways, so I didn't want to waste my money there. The room didn't have a TV anyways - entertainment was outside of the room. ENTERTAINMENT! ..and speaking of entertainment, Urban House had a full-on bar / cafe / "Student Union"-feel open area at street level. In fact, the guy serving beers, took a quick break so he could check me in. The gal that was serving breakfast the next day was the one who checked me out: as it turns out, a good consolidation of tasks combined in their multi-talented staff. I ventured out in the afternoon and evening (twice actually) to grab some excellent Thai food back in the Train Station. And then again to a bar a few blocks away that was hosting a Jazz festival. There was plenty to do, places to eat, immerse oneself into the night life, all within blocks of Urban House. No car needed. THE ROOM As mentioned no TV, but that was not missed. There was a desk and chair which was nice since this is where I spent any of my waking-time while in the room. https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/urban-house-k%C3%B8benhavn-2?select=NuynCk7VfBPS6-Fn4XhFuQ&userid=3mNz5nQFTIBQm0oU5mBR0w The bathroom was a fascinating engineered piece of configuration, especially when it came to the adjacent proximity of the toilet and shower: a good economy of space! https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/urban-house-k%C3%B8benhavn-2?select=AJLhvC82t2aCaZBooEwbAw&userid=3mNz5nQFTIBQm0oU5mBR0w There are never enough pillows wherever I go (hotel, motel, etc.), and unfortunately, this went doubly so for this. It's rare when I have to dip into my travel gear and find a jacket and extra pair of pants and fold/roll them up just so I can get a bit more height on the shallow pillow they give you. It is what it is. https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/urban-house-k%C3%B8benhavn-2?select=T9RWvTNb8ZgaFlkcvFW5uw&userid=3mNz5nQFTIBQm0oU5mBR0w THE LOWDOWN A reasonably affordable stop when touring through Copenhagen. Should I find myself traveling alone in this fair city once more, I totally would consider staying here again.
