It had been almost a year since we last boarded but Ethan helped us get acclimated to the new policies and was super accommodating, even working with me on pick-up when my return flight was delayed. A true life-saver. All the staff are always kind and helpful and they really love on the animals, which I appreciate. They also regularly update with photos and emails to keep you in the loop which is very reassuring. Loki loves it there and is always wiped out when she returns. (She's been napping all day. Very clearly a happy girl ).

Unfortunately, this place was a HUGE disappointment and had a huge negative impact on our pup. Long story short -- Everything here is a sales grab. The few girls care for the animals but the "managers" and men there are just there for the commission of your packages. I had a whole conversation about their unethical sales pitching with the employee while picking up my dog lol. It's "how they keep the place open" - the employee's words, not mine. Astounding. Said employee also asked what I did for a living because I questioned their sales pitch tactics -- I'm in sales. Also, If you need their VIP services for your unspayed or neutered pup, please spend your money elsewhere!! Before committing to a membership, we did a trial day and spent hundreds on drop in days, grooming, and overnight boarding to see if it was a good fit for our high energy pup. Our dog is not neutered and we don't plan on getting him neutered so we chose their VIP rooms. His breed is also extremely high energy and they promised they could accommodate. I also inquired about training multiple times and they kept saying the trainer would contact me. Everything went great after those few visits, they seemed caring and said he was a great fit for a membership so we end up signing up. Then everything went downhill. Upon the first day of the membership, our dog all of a sudden had behavior issues and needed to be picked up. In the middle of my work day I call the shift manager, and he states that if we want our dog to stay, he needs training ... (from their same trainer that I've inquired 3x about before committing to a membership, still haven't heard back). I asked why this wasn't communicated ever before committing to a membership and they didn't have an answer. I informed them that I would've paid for training before committing to a membership if they would've let me know that there were any issues. Our dog went a couple of more times until they could finally get me in touch with the trainer, 6 visits later. Actually I had lost complete trust at this facility. To add insult to injury, I was able to speak to one of their actual workers that is with the dogs and she let me know that our dog is only let out for about 10 minutes at a time, maybe 3 to 4 times a day during a 12 hour stay. This is their VIP option. So not only is he left in a room for about 12 hours a day, with dogs barking all around him, he's not being stimulated nor played with just being let out to go to the bathroom. Contradicting everything they say that they offer. Their "trainer" is also a joke. He is supposed to be from the Marines and well-versed in the breed of dog that we have. Upon washing him for 5 minutes, as I was told, he said that our dog needed to be neutered before he could be trained because of his energy. Our dog is a Malinois and is not supposed to be neutered before 2 years of age. We've since went elsewhere to get our dog trained from someone who is actually educated on his breed and he's worked on all of his anxiety and reactivity issues that our pup got because of this place.

Nova was still a puppy and had a lot of energy, but had a rough start at the shelter after being turned in as a stray. Needless to say, she needed some work. The shelter gave us a trainer to work with, who solved some of the issues, but not all; and not the core problem. We also had another rescue at home so, the dog aggression and fear was a big issue. We tried to work through things on our own, but had hit a plateau and still had issues with fear, people, and dog aggression. For two years, I read endless reviews, looked at several programs, and a few rehabilition specialists. I scoured the Angel City Pit Bull site in search of any help. That's when I came across The Fouche Way - Brandon Fouche. I read ALL of the Yelp reviews and watched his videos on Facebook daily. We kept him in our back pocket, thinking we would reach out one day to enlist his help. During the holidays, Nova bit our other dog due to being overexcited so, we decided it was time to give Brandon a call. In a matter of days our relationship and understanding with Nova started to improve. The advice and insight he shared with us about dog behaviour and how to handle some of the issues we were experiencing has changed our lives. It's been about a month, and things are getting better and better every day. Brandon is invested from DAY ONE with a singular goal to "save lives" which he definitely does. If you are struggling with behavioral problems with your dog, DO NOT HESITATE. The techniques you will learn will last you a lifetime and will definitely turn your relationship around with your pet.

We figured half of it was likely our fault and half was her "real personality" coming through after settling in. So we worked hard on implementing training, trying medication, and managing her environment. However, after a year of completely altering our lives to accommodate her, very little had changed. We loved her so much but felt like we were running out of options. We finally decided to take her in to Brandon after reading the overwhelmingly positive reviews involving dogs that had similar or worse issues than Zuzu's. Because of her complex situation regarding reactivity towards both dogs and certain people, the price of her consultation was quite high ($1800 ). But we figured if it meant we could get our sweet dog and our lives back, it would be more than worth it. After only 4 hours with Brandon and his "pack", we were able to watch Zuzu coexist with other dogs without any aggression and significantly reduced reactivity. She went from barking at Brandon whenever he spoke, to being comfortable and bonded with him. It was like a huge weight had been lifted off our shoulders. We spent the next few weeks implementing Brandon's teaching, while continuing to bring her in for daycare once or twice a week, and now we are finally able to walk Zuzu with significantly less stress or worry. A couple months later, we went on our first park visit in over a year and watched as Zuzu calmly observed multiple dogs walk past her. I even got a compliment today from another pittie owner on how well behaved she is!! Every week Zuzu returns to Brandon excited to see him and all her new friends :) I will be forever grateful to Brandon for helping us keep Zuzu happy and in our lives.

His behavior, manners, and overall demeanor at home have improved so much, and we feel like we have learned a ton along the way too. Beyond being an amazing trainer, what has meant the most to us is how much Kelli genuinely cares about Briggs. She treats him like he's her own, and any time he has had even the smallest health issue, she is always the first to check in, follow up, and make sure he's doing okay. It gives us so much peace of mind knowing he is with someone we completely trust and who truly loves and cares for him. Kelli has been so lovely to work with, and we feel incredibly lucky to have found her. We would recommend her to anyone looking for someone who is not only an incredible dog trainer, but someone who genuinely cares about the dogs she works with. It also helps that Briggs absolutely loves her!

We enrolled Poppy, our 4 month old puppy at the time, in their 10-day reverse board-and-train program. I wasn't expecting her to come out perfectly trained in 10 days, but I did expect the level of intensive training they advertised on their site. The trainer we got was sweet and had a calm energy, which I liked since Poppy was skittish around new people. But the actual training didn't come close to matching what was promised. We have security cameras at home, so I could see exactly what was happening while we were gone. Most days were only 5-10 minutes of actual training. The rest of the time the trainer was watching TV or on her phone. If we'd wanted someone to watch TV with our puppy, we could've asked a neighbor for free. By the end of it, Poppy knew "sit" and "down" and not much else. The separation anxiety and potty training work we'd specifically talked about before signing up hadn't really progressed. I want to be clear, my problem wasn't that she wasn't fully trained in 10 days. It's that we paid for a specific service and didn't get it. I emailed the owner, Jeff, sent him the video clips, and asked for a partial refund. He wouldn't address any of it directly, just offered services that were already included in our package and turned down the refund. Then he was rude to my husband on the phone, which threw me because my husband is about as easygoing as they come and almost never gets worked up over anything. I also found it concerning that the exit document I was given included a clause saying clients agreed not to post negative reviews. I never signed it, but seeing that made me question how much honest customer feedback actually makes it online. Super shady. We ended up going with a different trainer afterward, and Poppy turned out exactly how we'd expected her to after actual, consistent training. Maybe we just got unlucky with the trainer. I can only go off our own experience, but between the training we actually received and how they handled it afterward, I wouldn't recommend them.

Like any parent and dog owner, we were heartbroken and overwhelmed, not knowing how to move forward safely. After reading so many incredible reviews about Brian across different forums, we decided to reach out--and I'm so grateful we did. Brian helped us understand Hudson (our dog) on a completely different level. He took the time to explain the fears and anxiety driving Hudson's behavior and gave us practical tools to help him feel more secure and confident. Instead of just addressing the behavior itself, Brian helped us see what Hudson was experiencing and how to support him in a way that actually works. Over time, we've seen such meaningful progress. Most importantly, I now feel so much more comfortable and confident with my daughter interacting with Hudson. That peace of mind is something I truly can't put into words. If you're dealing with a challenging or scary situation with your dog, I can't recommend Brian highly enough. His knowledge, patience, and ability to help both dogs and owners understand each other is truly remarkable. We're incredibly grateful we found him.

TL;DR: The Way of the Dog is, quite literally, the best dog training experience in Los Angeles…read more Brian Lee is a pillar of the South Bay dog community. Across Manhattan Beach, Redondo Beach, Torrance, Palos Verdes, and beyond, a surprising number of dog owners I've met have trained with him at some point -- and without exception, they speak highly of the experience. That reputation alone says a lot. What you get is not a typical obedience class. The program consists of five focused, no-nonsense behaviorist sessions grounded in a deep understanding of dog psychology, plus ongoing, supervised pack-socialization events (think structured dog parties, not chaotic dog parks). The emphasis is on how dogs think, not on rote commands. The training style is dense, unconventional, and unapologetically dogmatic -- in a good way. Brian does not start with commands. Instead, he teaches you to understand your dog as a born hunter with physical, mental, and social needs. Once you understand that framework, behaviors fall into place naturally. Watching him settle a dog mid-zoomie without a single command honestly looks like magic. If your goal is to teach tricks or formal commands, I'd recommend pairing this additionally with a balanced-method obedience school. I would not recommend "positive-reinforcement-only" programs like Zoom Room. In my experience -- and based on what I've seen firsthand -- that approach often fails in real-world situations. Many of the worst-behaved dogs I've encountered came out of those programs, including ours. So why listen to Brian? He has over 40 years of experience and has worked with more than 40,000 dogs. And in a time when "positive reinforcement only" has become the fashionable -- and often misleading -- default, The Way of the Dog is one of the few remaining programs that actually produces calm, stable, well-behaved dogs. We ended up here because Zoom Room training failed us badly. Our puppy was biting us so severely that I seriously considered rehoming her. This program changed everything. We learned how to be kind and strong leaders, how to meet our dog's core needs, and how to train both her and ourselves consistently -- especially through the very real chaos of the "teenage dog" phase. This business deserves five-star reviews across the board. If you look at the rare one-star reviews, they simply don't add up -- and Brian has already addressed them directly. Complaints about "teaching commands" are fake; and complaints about "fear-based training" miss the entire point of the program. Brian is direct, honest, and doesn't sugarcoat reality -- which is exactly what many people need, even if they don't want to hear it. In short, based on both my own experience and consistent feedback from other dog owners, our dog now behaves 10x better than most dogs we encounter -- calmer, more disciplined, and far less reactive. And yes, I'm officially a dog snob now. I have zero tolerance for poorly trained dogs at parks -- especially humping, biting humans, or owners who excuse bad behavior. Once you've seen what good training actually looks like, there's no going back.

And if you know a beagle's howl, you know how loud it can get. The neighbors knew when we would be walking her because they could hear her for blocks. And people would stare at us as if we were horrible pet parents so we decided it was enough and contacted Diana for some help. As soon as we met her, she explained her process and how she works. And she explained how and why reactivity occurs. Everything was explained very easily and smoothly so that my spouse and I could understand why Maddie did certain things and how to correct them. We went ahead and did the 8 session package and met weekly with Diana. She laid the foundation for us and we increased training to build on that foundation.
