It was quite challenging (we made it out barely 3 minutes before the time was up!). The entire facility was clean and the people working there were friendly, and helpful, when we needed a clue. The room we decided to try and conquer was Submarine: The Unknown Abyss. The story of the room was You and your team have adventured on a journey in search of a mysterious, abandoned submarine. Which the legend says, comes to the same spot of the water once a year. They say the captain, which was mad, took steam punk inventions and incorporated them into the mysterious submarine. They say the submarine didn't use any fuel, and moved like a living creature. In the captains last records there was something about the submarine having a heartbeat, and that begun to beat slower and slower. The way you beat the room and escape is that you must solve all the puzzles and decipher all the clues, to make your way into the Captain's Quarters and take control of the Submarine back to port. My family worked extremely well together and we were given five clues from Brandon to help us on our mission. My daughter and son who was the birthday boy did masterful job on solving lot of the puzzles. We were given sixty minutes to escape the room which we did with exactly 2:51 left on the timer clock. If you looking for a great family adventure with thrilling twist and turns plus challenging puzzles I would definitely check out Escape Medina.

We took…read moremy kids and my daughter's boyfriend with us and when we bought tickets the sales lady suggested we get the speed pass since it was a busy night and the lines were long. I asked her if it was worth it and she said, "I think so". I wasn't sure, but for only $10 more per person, we went ahead and bought fast passes. On a non-busy night, I wouldn't suggest that, but on this night, it was totally worth it. The construction of the buildings throughout the place was very well done. Top notch in terms of build quality - they spared no expense, even of the places out in the woods. They were built to last. The wait in each line was about 30 minutes long. With the fast pass, we walked straight past the line and there was no waiting at all. That was a total win and my family was very appreciative of the additional investment. We were in and out of the place in just over an hour. Otherwise, it would've been closer to three hours. First, we rode the hay ride, which included actors chasing you and telling gruesome stories along with animatronics. People were screaming and trying to hide from the monsters, but there is nowhere to go on a hay ride. Chainsaws. Lots of chainsaws. Next, we walked the haunted trail, which was pretty cool. Then we visited the haunted house. It was very cool. The actors pay much more attention to people who are act scared, so there's a pro tip for you. Don't act scared and they won't bother you. Afterwards, we munched on some chili cheese fries and regular french fries while sitting around the warm bonfire. They were pretty tasty. I definitely recommend this place if you haven't visited before.

This was a first time experience in an Escape Room for all of us. (Ages ranging from 28 - 72) Finding all the gems was challenging, but since there were hints available if a majority of the group agreed to request one, I think this room would be great to include a younger family member too. I'm anxious to find an escape room in North Carolina to take my younger (11 & 13) grandkids to. I just hope that I can find one that is as well run as this one. Please don't be too intimidated to try this. You are not ever actually locked in. It's a puzzle that needs a group working together to solve. Give it a try!! PS: Everyone should be aware, that this business is on the second story of an old building, which gives it quite a bit of character, but the staircase is long and there are no elevators.

10 of us worked through the Enigma room. It was a tough room to get started on and then clues…read moreflowed more. We were still challenged throughout. The room was clean and well done. As I mentioned we had 10 people and we did fine, but I think 8 would be more comfortable in the space. The signs when you're done to use for photos are not the high quality like many escape rooms I've visited. They are merely laminated pieces of paper that are hard to sift through to find what you're looking for. The room did not take an official photo but did take photos with our phones. Unfortunately, because of quality and small sizes of the signs, they were basically unreadable in the photos. If this isn't important to you then you'll enjoy the experience just fine. I would go back to try another room.

The family who owns it is very nice and very hands on with making it a fun experience. Staff has always been super friendly and they have a wall where your polaroid is placed if you make it through! This is a smaller escape game facility with about 3-4 rooms, all hand-crafted to fit their theme. We have done all of their rooms each rotation, I just wish they rotated the rooms more and that the ones they did change, weren't so close to the same theme. For example, I love their White House one and they had a temple one too but there were 2 - 3 I did here that was escaping an apartment or along those lines. Also it should be noted that these are hand-crafted so they won't be as immersive as some bigger chains - which I didn't have an issue with. I like going here and try to whenever my family is in town. Just wish they had more rooms and more variety!

She muttered through a script about the rules and several of us had primes understanding her mumbled speech. When we got to the room she closed her eyes and droned through a couple of sentences to "set the scene". No enthusiasm. Zero personality. No direction about the goal. We began searching the room for clues. We asked for a couple of hints and the second hint was the same as the first, that was frustrating. It took two hints to figure out we were looking for puzzle pieces to tell us how to unlock the directional lock. I had no idea this was the goal - to get puzzle pieces and figure out how to unlock the directional lock. One of our group had done 2 escape rooms this week in the Cleveland area. She said this room was nothing like those and felt this was bland. I would agree. It was the first experience for 4 of us. I doubt we'll go back.

It was a Saturday night, but no one else was there. There are lockers to secure purses and phones, along with a coat rack. Restrooms available. We were given a choice of an easy, medium, or hard level. We chose medium. We had the Pirate themed room. The object was to find the treasure. It was a lot of fun. The clues were excellent. Some easy, some hard. With the medium level, we were allowed to ask for help 3 times, for "free". Any hints requested above that would cause our remaining time to go down by 1 minute, each. The reason I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 was that it was only a 45 minute game. I've played in varous other places; they were all a full hour. If we had had the other 15 minutes, we would have been able to find the last 2 clues and found the treasure.
