So this is a neat place. During the summer they offer volleyball. The interior is nice and clean. It is not the most advances ally nor the largest, but they have a good menu and a lounge. The lanes are nice a smooth and are great for kids and non semi-pro So a good place to have fun. read more

Pretty much your typical bowling alley, nothing fancy, modern or new at all, but does the trick. They have 24 lanes, and if you are on the first or last few lanes, it can get a little tight because there is a wall directly behind you. I recommend sticking to the middle if its busy. What really sets Kent Lanes apart is all of their specials. It seems like they have a moonrock all-you can-bowl deal going every single night. We have done their New Years Eve bowling party the last couple of years and enjoyed it. It's $90 total for 2.5 hours of bowling for up to 6 people, and that includes dinner (salad, garlic bread, pizza, pasta, meatballs, soda, chips). If you go early in the day, be ready to listen to hundreds of kids using their "midnight countdown" noise makers for, well, the entire two hours :) They have a full kitchen and a pretty big bar area, which is a separate room. You can order bar beverages from a window in the bowling alley that connects to the bar. A pitcher was $9, but it seems like they do plenty of specials. They also have volleyball courts and a tiki bar out there while leagues are going on. read more

I came here to bowl with two other people, we had to wait a few minutes for service since there seemed to be only one person working the desk and delivering food to other bowlers. We were offered a special price of $8 for two hours of bowling plus shoe rentals but decided that since we all had our own shoes, the regular rate of $2.50 per game was slightly less expensive for us. The decor and atmosphere is a little dated but they have automatic scoring. I've seen more elaborate displays but it certainly did what it was intended to do. Keep score! Scince no one needs to sit at the scoring table , they have a nice table and chairs at each lane for in between your frame and for eating and a place for drinks. I found it a little odd that the actual bowling lane is two steps down from the table level. There is a nice sturdy handrail at each lane, though, for those who may need a little assist. I guess it gives you a little extra exercise too! All in all, it was a pleasant way to spend a few hours. Even though the lanes are in Kent, OH and a little out of my usual travel route, I would not hesitate to meet up here with friends from the area. Happy Bowling! read more

Very small place, the inside is very dated. Lane are not maintained, no oil on lanes, very little pin action. The balls came back very slowly, if at all. Then the lights were turned out so you couldn't even see where you were throwing the ball. Will not go back. read more

My son's Boy Scout troop set up a bowling event at this alley. When we arrived we noticed the parking lot was almost full. Whatever. It was Monday so we guessed it was a league night. We get up to the doors and immediately turned right back around and left. Every lane was full with as many bowlers as you could pack into one bowling alley. I'm talking so many people you wouldn't be able to walk without running into someone. Social distancing during a pandemic where not everyone is vaccinated wasn't even close to being possible. On top of that not a mask in sight. There was no way that they could have properly disinfected the two lanes we reserved. Nor would there have been an even remotely safe way for the boys to social distance from the other people. Not only did we leave, but we will not be back to those lanes. read more

This place is good for some late night moon bowling and fairly decent deals throughout the week. If you're going to moon bowling, which is pretty solid at $10 for four hours and shoes, be sure to get there shortly before or after it begins. This is a fairly small bowling alley and they do sell out. Pros are the good prices, late hours, decent drink prices and solid black light/blaring music combo during moon bowling (even if it is kinda a weird top 40 from the last few decades/country mix.) Cons are the oldish equipment including shoes and bowling balls (good luck trying to find a well-suited ball) and how strangely crowded it can feel on a packed night. It's a bowling alley in a college town, so you really can't expect much. It's very run-of-the mill without any bells and whistles. Reminds me of the bowling alley I went to as a kid 20 years ago...and it probably hasn't been updated in 20 years, either. They do have automated scoring, but it's the first automated scoring system that was ever introduced to a bowling alley. Very, very low-tech. They offer a concessions stand with your typical crappy bowling alley fare (pizza, burgers, hot dogs, nachos), and they also have a bar. You can enter the bar separately, or order drinks through a window in the alley. Heads up, though, you can only get drink specials if you're sitting in the bar. Drinks are cheap though. A rum and coke and a Bud cost us only $5.50 (and the rum and coke was all rum and a splash of coke). I'm not sure what the average price for bowling is nowadays, but we paid $3 for shoes and $3.50 per game per person, which seemed a bit steep to me. They do have different bowling specials every night of the week (all you can bowl for $6, quarter nights with a $6 cover charge, ladies night, etc), but many of these specials don't start until about 9:00 or 10:00. At 8:00 on a Friday, there was a mixed crowd. Some "pro" bowlers, some families, some younger people. As 9:00 drew closer, the clientele began to change. A group of very stond teenagers joined in the lane next to us, so we decided to take our leave. Staff were all friendly, as were all of the other customers who were very chatty with us. Good place to go if you want to hang with the locals instead of the college kids (though maybe they come out later in the evening). I'll probably be back. read more

This place is so much fun! I came here with a huge group of people from my department and they were able to accommodate us with no problem. The prices were reasonable and everything was nice and clean. It's slightly outdated looking, but it's a local, small town kind of place. I love that there is a large, full bar attached! Kent Lanes could use some updating- the decor is old school and the score boards look like they are from the 80s, but overall it's one of the only bowling alleys in the area. The prices are cheap ($10 all you can bowl) and they have specials throughout the week. They also have a full kitchen and bar with reasonable prices. We came over holiday break and they had pitches of Christmas Ale on special- plus they gave us two extra pours for free! read more

Have been sitting here for over and hour after the employees told me it was going to be 20-35 minute wait, there has been an open lane that hasn't been cleared off for 20 minutes, poor staff and unwelcoming environment, probably won't come to this establishment even if someone paid me to. 100% would rather go to sto Kent family entertainment. First, their 'Moonrock bowl' on Saturdays does NOT start at 9 due to leagues (despite all the open lanes). Don't bother showing up until 9:30 or 10. More importantly, the employees are incredibly rude. My group was ignored and insulted, though we were nothing but polite. We were made to wait for a lane for over an hour, though others who got there after us were given the Many empty lanes. My recommendation, if you would like to go bowling in the Kent area, is to go to Twin Star Lanes, just across the University's campus. It's a MUCH better deal, as well as bigger, cleaner, and much more updated. Kent Lanes is a terribly run business. Everything about the establishment is run-down and outdated. I will not be returning here in the future. read more
