Similar to Breakout Waikiki in Hawaii, Queenstown also offers rooms where you have 60 minutes to try and escape. We were able to choose from 3 rooms. It cost approximately $27 USD each for 3 people.
The room we chose involved solving a bank robbery and learning about gold mining in the process. We learned that the room was inspired by an actual bank robbery called the Great Clyde Gold Robbery that took place during the gold rush era. In the now historic town of Arrowtown, a boot-maker and policeman stole a large amount of gold from a bank vault in the town. The thieves were caught, but the gold has never been recovered.
A very fun, but also incredibly stressful, experience with a similar structure to other escape rooms in Hawaii and possibly the US. Definitely worth a try if you're into these kinds of activities. read more
