Alex was our host and was AMAZING! He allowed us to switch rooms last minute, when our children were timid about playing in the dark (The Jungle Room). We had a blast escaping the 1970s room instead! Alex was so patient with us and was so wonderful with our children! He helped us when we needed help, and allowed us to just have a fun experience! We can't wait to go back!!!

Took a group of people from work. We had a great time and just missed the current record for escaping. I highly recommend this room. It was well thought out and they have riddles and other things to do while waiting for your game. We'll be back!

This was an interesting experience. We walked in on a completely dead Saturday afternoon in December and we were told that they only allowed you to play by appointment. They made a huge deal out of "making space" for us. We honestly would have been fine not to play, but they went to all the work and we felt like we had to play. There was nothing on their website or in their windows that led us to believe that we needed an appointment. They also told us the cost, I think it was $125 or something, and kept asking if we were sure we wanted to play because it cost that much. It felt condescending and rude to assume that we couldn't pay for it. The room itself was fun and we did enjoy ourselves, but I don't know that we will go back after feeling like such an inconveni

We had a great time today at Escape Room Live. Jen did a great job setting us up for our outlaws and sheriff's game. The puzzles were challenging and the hints came at just the right time to keep us moving- avoiding frustration but letting us work things out. Great environment in a great part of York. Would definitely do it again!

A great way to spend an afternoon! "The Jungle" was very challenging!! The staff is great!! Our host Alex made the whole experience enjoyable and we made it out in less than an hour !!! The puzzles were challenging but fun!!! Teamwork is required , we gathered up several of our closest friends and put on our bug spray and headed out the jungle room!!! I would recommend Escape Games Live to everyone. We have completed 3 of the rooms so far... The Precinct, Sherlock's Office and now The Jungle. We have enjoyed every room!!!

They've got their act together at Escape Games Live in York. Fun decor with a great sense of humor. Especially love that when you book a room, it's all yours, regardless of the number of players you have. Escape the 70s was a great first experience for the Jr high/Sr high kids in our family. About an average difficulty with lots of clever 1970s toys & props. Hubs was surprised by how much 70s trivia I knew (not really necessary to complete the room, btw). Finished with a little less than 15 min to go. Now the kids are hooked! Mission accomplished.

We got the Groupon for the Escape the Decade (70s) room. There were 5 people in our group and everybody had an absolute blast! The clues were the right amount of challenge and fun. The staff was extremely friendly... and tossed us a bone when we got stuck. We finished in 57 minutes, just under the hour limit. (They will give you extra time if you aren't quite done.) Really enjoyed the whole experience and we are looking forward to getting a group together for one of the other rooms.

Such an exciting hour! About time we have something fun to do locally. So worth the money. Cheaper than the movies and more exciting since you get to interact with your group.

It was fun, but not really worth the price. Would do it again if it were a little cheaper, or a little harder/longer.

I've been impressed with the hosts, particularly James Kirk, who has been both accommodating and funny.

Let me start by saying the building is absolutely gorgeous. It still holds tons of the old Bank ledgers, furniture and apparatus. Steve was more than generous with his time and knowledge, giving us a lot of history and a tour. Without giving too much away, I will say it was a lot more than just a jigsaw puzzle. There were trick lighting effects, audio effects, math puzzles, Etc. Plus there were red herrings. Deciphering the special effects was key to figuring out how to steal the gold! Marietta is a neat little town. Eclectic eateries (at least 4, plus just 5 minutes away is the amazing Bully's Restaurant and Pub), a brewery and lots of great architecture. Plan a day, I don't think you'll be disappointed

It starts as soon…read moreas you walk into the building, with the game taking place in an actual bank and vault with over 100 years of history. The structure itself is the biggest character in the game, but one that you must not overlook. Then you are warmly greeted by Steve and Anna, the owners and restorers of the building and creators of the game. They take you into the board room for your overview, instructions and intro video. When that is finished, you are led into the area of the bank that has the game. The game itself is rather simple, but how you do it is fun. Your goal is to break into the vault, steal the contents, then get to the teller line to make a deposit. You need to interact with the staff during the game, and the staff plays each part in character. That was really cool and very fun. We had our kids play along and they did a great job. When the game is over, Steve gives you a tour of the building and points out some of the historic items that they found. The history of the bank goes back to the 1800s and it is just so amazing to see these elements preserved. Steve and Anna clearly are very much "invested" in the game and your entire experience. This type of dedication not only to the escape game industry but to history itself is a huge part of why this game was a very unique experience for this enthusiast. We had a lot of fun and were glad that we had the opportunity to play First National Escape.

After explaining our genre preferences and experience level to Sarah, she provided guidance on what options we might like and also find appropriately challenging. We ended up choosing "Signal Lost" in the VR Escape Room. Sarah and Tre were extremely thorough and they did a fantastic job ensuring we had a positive experience. We had some small hiccups as beginner users and they stepped in at exactly the right times to keep us on track and make everything go smoothly. They achieved the perfect balance of being attentive to us without being intrusive to the experience. Before visiting Rations, we thought a VR experience may be a one-time activity, but our experience was so positive that we plan to return. Rations unequivocally deserves a 5 star rating.

We did the escape room at Rations Spaceport and had so much fun! Me and my friends all have January birthdays, which generally suck. The escape room was indoors, challenging, and engaging. We had a 13 year old with us who had a blast. It's family owned, and Sarah they build the physical rooms them selves (so creative and well done)....but oh yeah, they also have Virtual Reality escape rooms too (can't wait to try those). I am also excited to try the John Brown room. Would be a great place to take out of town guests. We're definitely going back!

We were very appreciative that the staff was able to accommodate our early arrival and facilitate an immediate start to our session, which was a significant bonus. We participated in the "Serial Killer" themed room. As this was the first escape room experience for everyone in our party, there was a natural element of apprehension following the initial briefing and room viewing. We found the experience to be unique, highly engaging, and thoroughly enjoyable. The service provided by the front desk gentleman (whose name we unfortunately missed) was exceptional. He was highly informative, provided clear instructions, and offered helpful recommendations for local dining options. The in-game elements were also excellent; clues were delivered effectively, the communication system was clear and easy to understand, and the props and puzzle design were exciting and well-executed. The single point of constructive feedback we offer relates to the background music level. We found the volume of the ambient music to be slightly excessive, which occasionally impeded verbal communication among our party members and, at times, made it challenging to clearly receive direction from the remote staff via the communication device. Despite this minor operational detail, we enthusiastically recommend this business and anticipate returning soon to try another themed room or the rage room.
